After Nüwa cut Yinglong in half, Du Yu confronted the dying Dragon Ancestor and learned he wanted to lodge his soul in Du Yu through the Eight Directions Ghost Record. Du Yu agreed after Yinglong admitted he had hoped to seize his body, leaving their bond about to begin.
Du Yu questioned Fuxi after Yinglong’s death and discovered that Fuxi and Nüwa had come to fulfill a dying wish, not to mend the sky. Fuxi admitted they had spent the past seven days sightseeing while the world credited them with heroic deeds, leaving Du Yu to confront their indifference to the suffering below.
Du Yu realized Fuxi was the real threat and decided to kill him, ordering the Seven Outstanding Disciples of the Sage to prepare an attack. He revealed his plan to the Black Monks, who retreated to report to Great Dark Heaven, though Dong Qianqiu suspected their withdrawal was only Du Yu’s first step.
Du Yu led the others in attacking Fuxi, arguing that killing him was their only chance to survive and shape Nüwa Mends the Sky. Shiranui Asuka rejected his plan, and Du Yu told her she could leave the Legend Management Bureau when they returned.
After Du Yu and the others vanished, Fuxi was left gravely wounded and crawled toward Nüwa, hoping she would revive him. You Si offered him a chance to become Eternity, but rejected him as an unsuitable candidate and left him behind; two versions of You Si then questioned why they both existed in the same spacetime.
Nüwa refused to save Fuxi after realizing he had manipulated her into killing countless Supreme Pivots, and Dong Qianqiu guided her toward mending the sky with the Five-Colored Stones. Du Yu returned to the strange passage and confronted Time, who challenged him about joining forces with Sage.
Du Yu questioned Time about the coming battle and Xie Yujiao, but Time could only reveal that You Si was a spirit monster formed from a unique object. Time told Du Yu he could save Zhan Qisheng, Yingning, and Weaver Girl by placing their souls in his Eight Directions Ghost Record, and the chapter ended with Time eagerly anticipating their next meeting.
After returning from Descent, Du Yu learned that Shiranui Asuka had left and found Zhan Qisheng, Yingning, and Weaver Girl near death. He placed the three in his Eight Directions Ghost Record and asked the Queen Mother of the West and Houtu for help, while the Bureau prepared to flee and Du Yu stayed behind to face Great Dark Heaven.
Du Yu decided to relinquish the Eight Directions Ghost Record to Lady Houtu and face He Suoyi alone, hoping his death would spare the other Immortals. His companions rejected his plan, and Weaver Girl suggested that the seven beings within him could combine their strength to wound Great Dark Heaven.
Du Yu refused to risk the others’ plan against Great Dark Heaven and instead asked Yinglong to identify A Can and A Kui. Yinglong recognized them and began recounting the reason they should have died long ago, leaving his own unusual choice of path unexplained.
Yinglong searched for mates and punished his nine sons for failing to inherit his ambition, turning them into figures carved on instruments, weapons, buildings, and monuments. He left the story having lost heart and deciding that humans might be the only suitable mates.
Yinglong abducted two sisters and tried to make them bear his offspring, mistaking their terror and desperation for signs of human affection. After he destroyed their village and left them starving in his cave, the sisters threatened to kill themselves, prompting Yinglong to dismiss their unborn children as useless before an idea about an immortal body occurred to him.
Yinglong confessed how he imprisoned A Can and A Kui, and Du Yu had Xingtian punish him before recognizing that their survival and lost memories remained unexplained. With the historic battle four days away, Du Yu told his companions to take shelter while he waited for He Suoyi and Great Dark Heaven to come kill him; they understood and prepared to leave for the Western Paradise.
Du Yu watched the Legend Management Bureau’s device reveal that his life had become an ongoing legend, then saw Nüwa complete the repair of the sky using Baxia’s legs. The chapter left Nüwa’s actions and Du Yu’s identity as a Supreme Pivot weighing on him.
Du Yu ordered the Legend Management Bureau evacuated and its equipment destroyed, while Dong Qianqiu secretly preserved a device recording his past in case it could help save him. At Houtu’s cave, the Underworld’s leaders agreed to evacuate their forces, but the Eastern Peak Great Emperor of Mount Tai warned that no one would remain to handle the dead mortals.
Du Yu and the Underworld rulers arranged a three-day absence for the Judges and Impermanence officers so he could face Great Dark Heaven without disrupting the mortal world. After the others left Houtu’s Cave Abode, Du Yu returned the Eight Directions Ghost Record and erased his name from it.
Du Yu gave up his name in the Eight Directions Ghost Record and helped set the Underworld’s evacuation in motion, while secretly visiting people he knew. The chapter ended with “Time” wondering how Du Yu planned to turn the tables without his usual protections or the Immortals.
Du Yu dismissed his allies and waited alone at the Legend Management Bureau, leaving “Time” unsure of his intentions. Great Dark Heaven arrived to settle an old grudge and, relying on “Time”’s information, prepared to attack Du Yu while the powerful Immortals gathered on Kunlun Mountain.
Du Yu faced He Suoyi and the immense forces of the Extreme Darkness World as they descended on the Legend Management Bureau. After they argued over cause and effect, Du Yu waited for the coming fight with murderous intent.
Du Yu revealed that he had kept the Eight Directions Ghost Record and struck He Suoyi, then summoned hidden allies to attack Great Dark Heaven’s forces. The Three Pure Ones and Gouchen Great Emperor arrived, while the battle against the invading army was still unfolding.
Du Yu explained how he used the Legend Management Bureau’s hidden teleportation array and his connection to Sage to organize an ambush against He Suoyi’s forces. He revealed that he had gambled everything on misleading his enemies with a fake Eight Directions Ghost Record as the immortals gathered overhead.
Du Yu’s ambush faced Great Dark Heaven’s hundred thousand Black Monks, and He Suoyi warned that the black Buddha could not be defeated. Just as battle began, reinforcements from Olympus, the Four Seas, Heaven, and the Armed Monster Alliance arrived to aid Du Yu’s side.
Du Yu assembled the immortals, monsters, and other reinforcements to face Great Dark Heaven, who remained untouched while reciting the Heart Sutra. As the battle began, Du Yu urged his allies to prioritize survival, leaving the outcome uncertain.
Du Yu was nearly overwhelmed by Maudgalyayana’s black mist until Yang Jian intervened and stayed behind to fight him. Maudgalyayana exposed Yang Jian’s anguish over his mother’s imprisonment as their battle continued.
Yang Jian resisted Maudgalyayana’s attempt to draw him into Extreme Darkness after Ibaraki Doji reminded him not to betray his allies. Elsewhere, Black Impermanence faced Mahakasyapa, a scar-covered ascetic and one of Buddha’s Ten Great Disciples, while White Impermanence went to seek other opponents.
