Shiranui Asuka and Yanyanluo reunited, and Jin Jianglang reflected on how the Yaksha Mask had helped reverse a tragic outcome. As the group prepared to return to Hiezu Village, Fire God arrived and immediately tried to befriend Yanyanluo.

• Shiranui Asuka offered Yanyanluo her wooden clogs, and Yanyanluo praised Asuka for treating humans and monsters with sincerity.
• Jin Jianglang recalled the Yaksha Mask warning him and imagined the future in which Yanyanluo died, then decided to ask Shuten about the masked monster.

Jin Jianglang refused to return to the Shiranui Household despite the Tsuchimikado Household’s demand, choosing to stay and protect Yanyanluo. At Hiezu Village, Yanyanluo believed the monsters impersonating the murdered villagers and celebrated becoming an Onmyoji, but she noticed the smell of blood and asked about the pile of corpses.

• Fire God told Jin Jianglang that Tsuchimikado Itsuki had come to the household, accusing him of killing members of the Tsuchimikado Household and demanding his return.
• Jin Jianglang refused to leave Hiezu Village, and Fire God agreed to return and stall the Tsuchimikado Household.
• Jin Jianglang and the others reached Hiezu Village and found its villagers dead while monsters pretended to be them.
• Yanyanluo mistook the monsters for the villagers, recognized Snow Woman as Sister Jiuzi, and proudly announced that she had become an Onmyoji.

Jin Jianglang watched Yanyanluo reconnect with the village and learned that Ibaraki Doji had begun to value Shuten’s cause over killing him. At the village entrance, Fire God revealed that Yanyanluo had been chosen as Jin Jianglang’s trial target and that the Shiranui Household’s trials concealed a deadly secret.

• Yanyanluo introduced Jin Jianglang to the villagers and shared concerned reminders with them while he listened.
• Ibaraki Doji returned soaked with fish, and he told Jin Jianglang that Shuten’s work seemed more meaningful than killing people.
• Jin Jianglang and the villagers prepared grilled fish for Yanyanluo, who wanted the meal because it recalled how she had met him.

• Fire God revealed that he had made a deal with the patriarch to protect Jin Jianglang and Xiao Xiang from being forced to become Time Masters.
• Jin Jianglang realized Yanyanluo had resisted the order to kill him and had been caught between the Tsuchimikado and Shiranui households.

Jin Jianglang awakened his yokai power and led Shuten and the monsters toward the Shiranui Household to confront Tsuchimikado Itsuki. As Yanyanluo remained behind with Xiao Xiang, Jin Jianglang realized the Dried Grass Wreath’s arrangement suggested she could see, and his raid stopped with that question.

• Jin Jianglang told Shuten he intended to kill Tsuchimikado Itsuki, and Shuten summoned the monsters for a Midnight Demon Hour attack.
• Jin Jianglang ordered Myriad Bone Workshop and Yukigyo to protect Xiao Xiang and Yanyanluo, then set out with Shuten and the others.

Jin Jianglang realized Yanyanluo had always seen the world through her smoke, while Yanyanluo prepared to leave so he would not become a monster for her sake. After marrying him in a solitary ceremony, she bound Yukigyo and the Great Tengu and beheaded herself, hoping he would forget her.

• Jin Jianglang recognized that Yanyanluo’s smoke had let her see everything and that she had known the truth about the village and their lies.
• Yanyanluo thanked Yukigyo and the Great Tengu, revealed she intended to leave, and explained that Jin Jianglang was nearing Demonization because of her.
• Yanyanluo poured three bowls of wine and performed a wedding ceremony, pledging herself to Shiranui Jinkuro and wishing for Jin Jianglang to forget her.
• Yanyanluo used her smoke to bind Yukigyo and the Great Tengu, then asked them to tell Jin Jianglang she was grateful for him.

After Yanyanluo cut off her own head, Hanamitsuki, Tsukimi Sake, and Fire God tried to sever the powerful threads connecting her to Jin Jianglang before they drove him mad. Fire God cut three threads, but Jin Jianglang broke free and charged toward the remaining “Longing” thread to save Yanyanluo.

• Shiranui Asuka saw Yanyanluo cut off her own head, while the Great Tengu told her that Yanyanluo had given up.
• Hanamitsuki revealed seven threads with white powder, and she and Tsukimi Sake cut “Resentment” and “Circumstances” while the Great Tengu and Yukigyo held the threads back with wind.
• Fire God confronted Jin Jianglang and warned that the threads could drive him mad, while the monsters restrained him and Fire God cut “Change.”
• Jin Jianglang begged Fire God not to cut “Longing” or “Reluctance,” but Fire God severed “Reluctance” as Jin Jianglang broke free of the monsters.

Jin Jianglang became a Time Master after Longing merged into him, and time erased his memories of Yanyanluo while leaving him longing for her. Three hundred and thirty-seven years later, he set out for China after Shiranui Asuka called him about Du Yu, while a wanted poster for a girl con artist arrived at his empty room.

• Jin Jianglang embraced Longing as she merged into his body, and he returned to himself without remembering her.
• Jin Jianglang said Yanyanluo was traveling, and the Fire God realized that time had altered events to stop his transformation and end the war.

The chapter presented three side stories about Houtu choosing a grand title, Du Yu planning a replacement Jade Rabbit for a legend, and Zhan Qisheng asking He Suoyi to build a device for entering and observing legends. It ended with He Suoyi agreeing to make the device, which could let others intervene if Zhan Qisheng was gone or trapped.

• Houtu learned the title “This Dowager” from the National Men Tribe chief and decided it suited her.
• Du Yu discovered that Da Yi was the current Jade Rabbit and rejected the legend’s existing setup as unsuitable for him.

Zhongli Chun rescued Ruonü in the Inner Yellow Springs and urged her to gather suffering women into a force of their own before leaving to continue her search. Meanwhile, Qu Xi discovered that Yingning had been left in the past, and Du Yu and Dong Qianqiu found the Legend equipment recording the tale of Ma Liang and the Magical Brush.

• Zhongli Chun drove off the ghosts attacking Ruonü and learned that the girl had no desire to be reincarnated because she had nowhere to return to.
• Zhongli Chun told Ruonü to gather the suffering women of the Inner Yellow Springs and build a force, then gave her own name before offering to rename the girl.
• Qu Xi told Du Yu that Yingning had not returned from the past after the livestream, and Du Yu rushed to find a way to retrieve her.
• Dong Qianqiu showed Du Yu a recording of Ma Liang and the Magical Brush, which the Legend equipment had inexplicably captured.

The next morning, Du Yu and a crowd of companions set off for Japan to attend Jin Jianglang and Yanyanluo’s wedding, with Du Yu planning to recruit them and the Shiranui Household afterward.
