You Si rescued Zhan Qisheng from a mob and a rampaging Demon Beast, but he copied her Time Spell and followed her through the wilderness. After he asked her to teach him cultivation, You Si ordered him to leave and told him to wait for her in three months.
You Si taught Zhan Qisheng the Time Five Elements Art after he vowed to honor her wish that everyone have the right to choose. Du Yu realized that You Si was the root of the Legend Management Bureau and the Supreme Pivots, while the vision continued to Meng Po discovering that her soup required two willing souls to erase You Si’s memories.
You Si collected the Shame and Guilt Brothers’ souls after they sacrificed themselves to help her stop killing, while Du Yu witnessed the collapse of the surrounding space. He found himself in a realm of drifting spacetime fragments, where “Time” told him that the world had toyed with him.
Du Yu learned that “Time” was an entity born from human obsession and confronted him about the frozen battlefield and the possibility of saving everyone. The chapter ended with “Time” angrily revealing that he had spent years atoning for his own wrongs.
Du Yu learned that “Time” had endured three hundred and thirty thousand years guarding the Eight Directions Ghost Record and had engineered Du Yu’s path toward becoming his successor. “Time” revealed that Du Yu was the 464th version in the current reincarnation cycle and that he had witnessed 713 cycles, leaving Du Yu confronting the vast web of lives woven around him.
Time explained that Du Yu was meant to become the next Time by fulfilling a long list of conditions, including falling in love with Shiranui Asuka. Du Yu revealed that he had already become Time and had manipulated events to make Time choose him, then proposed a big bet.
Du Yu revealed that he had long suspected Time was protecting him and deliberately tested him so he could take his place. He left Time with his ultimate gamble: to use the lives of every Du Yu across spacetime to rid the world of Time forever.
Du Yu remained trapped on the stone stool as the new “Time,” repairing the battlefield’s fractured timelines while planning to eradicate Time forever. After ninety years of work, he discovered a strange timeline belonging to the Japanese monster “Yanyanluo.”
Du Yu spent tens of thousands of years in the cave reconstructing the great battle and endured crushing isolation until he began hallucinating. When A-Xiang’s phantom pointed to a small stone, the stone door opened and a new You Si appeared.
Du Yu remained trapped in the stone chamber as You Si offered to find someone to replace him as Time, while the cycle of Reincarnation began around him. A stone brought by You Si carried a Japanese message that Du Yu eventually deciphered as “A-Xiang's Morning Call.”
Du Yu discovered that the stone marked with patterns held a recording left by Shiranui Asuka. The diary began revealing her loneliness in the cave, while Du Yu and You Si listened.
Du Yu listened to a recording revealing that Shiranui Asuka had spent ages trapped in the cave and had sacrificed herself to save him. He suspected she had become an incarnation of Time, then asked You Si to cut him free from the stone chair.
Du Yu and You Si tried increasingly powerful ways to suppress his regeneration so he could escape the stone stool, but years of burning only left him exhausted. You Si returned with a bead containing an eternal flame, and Du Yu swallowed a talisman he believed would let him escape before asking her to begin.
Du Yu endured centuries of agony after You Si used the Immortals’ fire on him, eventually learning to stand and control his pain. When he saw an inscription on the back of the chair, he lost control and demanded to know what it meant.
Du Yu listened to A-Xiang’s recordings and concluded that the stones held clues to the formation and his escape. The recordings revealed more about A-Xiang’s past with Du Yu, but the chapter left the exact way out unresolved.
Du Yu mastered the Time Spell and endured seven hundred thousand years in the Time Cave while searching for a worthy replacement as Time. When another version of Du Yu arrived and recognized him as the one above, Du Yu invited him to talk.
Du Yu told the “Terminator” the history of Ancestor Du Yu, A-Xiang, and the Cause-and-Effect Reversal Formula, explaining how A-Xiang became the first Time and how generations of Du Yus were created. He revealed that the Ancestor Creator entered the Time Cave and found A-Xiang, though each loved someone else in another spacetime.
Du Yu explained how the Creator’s attempt to save A-Xiang created an endless cycle of Du Yus and Times, while A-Xiang alone never regretted her sacrifice. He revealed that he wanted the Terminator to willingly become Time, but the Terminator had not answered.
Du Yu tested whether the “Terminator” would become a Qualified Candidate and watched him question Shakyamuni Buddha about “Great Dark Heaven.” Shakyamuni recognized Du Yu’s vast plan and urged him to stop, but Du Yu refused to heed the warning.
Du Yu endured the heavenly punishment and arranged for the "Terminator" to become the new "Time," while secretly planning to keep the role himself. The chapter ended with Du Yu revealing that both he and the "Terminator" would be "Time."
Du Yu trapped the Terminator in the Time Cave after destroying the Magic Array and made a deal with him to help break the cycle of reincarnation. He then killed everyone on a list across timelines and headed to the East Sea Islands in 219 BC to find the Cause-and-Effect Reversal Formula before Xu Fu.
Du Yu searched the East Sea for the Cause-and-Effect Reversal Formula, then followed Xu Fu’s fleet and discovered a letter from the First Emperor telling Xu Fu he could leave court and settle elsewhere. The letter prompted Du Yu to rewind time and witness Xu Fu asking an old master to teach him the Longevity Art.
Guiguzi accepted Xu Fu as his final disciple and foretold the course of his future, while Du Yu confronted the meaning of the cause-and-effect formula that had shaped countless lives. Guiguzi began carving the formula for Xu Fu, leaving Du Yu to decide whether to destroy it and choose a real life over a planned one.
Du Yu traced how Guiguzi’s prophecy shaped Xu Fu’s life, from studying medicine and meeting Ying Zheng to being forced to seek the Elixir of Immortality. The chapter revealed that Ying Zheng’s execution order was meant to protect Xu Fu, leaving Du Yu to understand why Xu Fu had broken down over the bamboo scroll.
Du Yu intervened in Xu Fu’s plan, burning half of the Cause-and-Effect Reversal Formula while telling him to follow his heart. Xu Fu led his people to Yingzhou, established them there, and arranged for the formula and his mission to be passed down through twenty lineages before he died.
