"The First Spirit Pill, first tier middle grade." Tang Yan smiled. "According to you, an elixir like this isn't eligible for auction?"
"It doesn't qualify." The old man waved him off, thinking, I knew he wouldn't have anything worthwhile.
"Although this elixir is only first tier middle grade, it holds its own against ordinary first tier high grade elixirs.
"It can improve cultivation and is a tremendous aid to Origin Tier martial artists. An origin tier ninth grade martial artist who takes it has a ninety percent chance of breaking through to the Yellow Tier.
"More importantly, it can be taken repeatedly!" Tang Yan continued leisurely. "I won't go into its other supplementary effects. Why don't you take another look?"
"Sorry!" The old man's expression remained cold, and he had no intention of discussing it further.
"You'll regret this, sir. Farewell!"
"Keep blowing hot air." Watching Tang Yan turn to leave, the old man sneered disdainfully. If everything Tang Yan said were true, how could the elixir be only first tier middle grade? It would have to be at least second tier low grade.
"He really doesn't know quality when he sees it." Once outside, Tang Yan sighed softly.
When it came down to it, though, the fault actually lay with Tang Yan.
An elixir's tier and grade were determined by both the difficulty of refining it and its medicinal effects.
The First Spirit Pill's effects were no worse than those of a second-tier elixir. Tang Yan had classified it as first tier middle grade because refining it did not require much martial strength. Although the process was complicated, even a First-Tier Alchemist could just barely produce it with solid fundamentals and diligent practice.
Classifying the First Spirit Pill as a second-tier elixir would not have been excessive. Besides, Tang Yan had brought this elixir from Huaxia, so he had the greatest authority to decide its tier.
Unaware of where the problem lay, Tang Yan walked down the street, pondering other ways to make money.
Although he had spent most of his previous life in the Hidden Martial World, Tang Yan had also encountered modern things on Earth. He knew a little about how modern businesses operated, too.
Before long, Tang Yan's eyes lit up.
A long-term money-making plan slowly took shape in his mind.
Finding a deserted spot, he rubbed his face a few times to restore his original appearance, then hurried toward the Wonderful Elixir Workshop.
As soon as he arrived at the Wonderful Elixir Workshop, the shop assistants recognized Tang Yan.
They dared not slight a young man whom even Master Ge treated with such courtesy.
"Young Master Tang, please come inside. I'll go inform Master Ge." The shop assistant greeted him warmly.
Tang Yan accepted without fuss and nodded. His gaze swept casually across the shop. Although there were quite a few people inside, one woman still caught his attention.
The woman stood about 165 centimeters tall. Her fitted white clothes set off her figure with a mature, distinctive elegance. Her hair, like spilled ink, fell casually over her shoulders. Her large eyes held the clarity of autumn waters, bright and lively, yet carried a cold menace that kept others a thousand miles away.
Her beauty was no less than Lin Dongxue's or Wu Xuan's, and her bearing was even more ethereal.
Such a beauty naturally drew attention, and many people in the hall kept glancing at her.
Apparently long accustomed to such attention, the woman showed no discomfort.
After his brief moment of admiration, Tang Yan narrowed his eyes, inwardly on guard.
Anyone who judged this woman solely by what they saw would surely be deceived by her appearance. She stood there quietly without revealing the slightest trace of true qi, leaving Tang Yan completely unable to gauge her strength. Yet a chilling, forbidding aura drifted faintly from her.
Most of those present would struggle to notice anything unusual about her, but Tang Yan had encountered countless people in his previous life. He still marked this woman as dangerous.
Even after turning his memories upside down, Tang Yan could not identify her. Presumably, she had come from elsewhere.
As he passed the woman, Tang Yan suddenly wrinkled his nose and sniffed the air several times.
Sensing an unfamiliar man standing beside her, the woman frowned and turned to give Tang Yan a look.
"What a lovely fragrance." Tang Yan lifted his head and muttered, then continued forward. "If only I could take her home as my wife."
As though she had never encountered anyone as shameless as Tang Yan, the woman's expression grew even colder. Walking away, Tang Yan felt a chill behind him, and tiny beads of sweat instantly sprang out across his forehead.
He kept walking with an air of forced composure. Only when he felt that flash of killing intent disappear did Tang Yan finally relax.
After that brief probe, Tang Yan had confirmed two things.
First, this woman was injured. Second, even injured, she was not someone he could afford to provoke.
"Brother Tang, you're finally here." Once the shop assistant had led Tang Yan into a reception room, Ge Ming hurried over to greet him.
Tang Yan glanced at Ge Ming and saw that the red gleam in his eyes had vanished. That gave him some idea of the Wonderful Elixir Workshop's efficiency. Apparently, third tier elixirs really were nothing special to them.
"Haha, congratulations, Elder Ge." Tang Yan cupped his hands.
Ge Ming understood perfectly well what Tang Yan meant and smiled. "It's all thanks to your Pill Formula, Brother Tang. Forgive this old brother's poor eyesight the other day. I failed to recognize that you were the eldest young master whose name has spread throughout Cloud City. So the remarkable talent among Cloud City's younger generation isn't in the Liu Family, but the Tang Family."
"It's hardly worth mentioning. All the credit goes to my master's guidance." Tang Yan once again brought out his master's name as a smokescreen.
"No need for formalities with your old brother. What brings you to the Wonderful Elixir Workshop this time?" Ge Ming asked with a smile.
Thinking that these people truly were old foxes, Tang Yan spoke plainly. "Then I won't beat around the bush. I've come on my master's instructions to discuss a business deal with the Wonderful Elixir Workshop."
Ge Ming was deeply interested in a master and disciple who could casually give away a third tier Pill Formula. He quickly asked, "What business does your esteemed master wish to discuss with our Wonderful Elixir Workshop?"
"Meridian Tempering Powder! When taken by Origin Tier martial artists, it can improve the quality of their meridians to a certain extent." Tang Yan calmly stated what he had to offer.
"What!" The moment Tang Yan finished speaking, Ge Ming leaped to his feet in shock.
Pill Formulas that improved the quality of the meridians were exceedingly rare throughout the alchemy world. If he could purchase this one and hand it over to headquarters, it would be a major achievement.
Tang Yan had been sipping his tea. Caught off guard by Ge Ming's shout, he jolted and spilled tea all over his hand. Speechless, he said, "Elder Ge, please sit down while we talk. Sit down."
Realizing he had lost his composure, Ge Ming hurriedly gave an apologetic smile. "Sorry, sorry. I got too excited. Brother Tang, are you here to sell the Pill Formula?"
"Exactly." Tang Yan nodded.
As an alchemist himself, Tang Yan had expected Ge Ming's reaction.
He was highly confident that he would earn enough this time to fill his bowls and pots to the brim. After all, elixirs that improved the meridians were rare in this world.
Take Cloud City, for example. Its four great lineages were evenly matched, keeping one another in check. But if one lineage produced an exceptionally gifted younger generation, it would surely suppress the other three within a few years.
Thus, although this Pill Formula worked only on Origin Tier martial artists, countless lineages, great and small, would eagerly seek it.
As a member of one of Cloud City's four great lineages, Tang Yan knew full well that certain major lineages poured boundless blood and sweat into nurturing talented members of their younger generation.
Once Meridian Tempering Powder appeared on the market, the great lineages would scramble to snatch it up.
