Ouyang and Dongxu Zi raided the Great Spirit Mountain Temple and uncovered Hui Zhi’s plan to build Buddha Kingdoms by gathering believers’ faith. As Dongxu Zi negotiated with Hui Zhi, a Buddha drew Ouyang into the Lotus Flower Pond, where he encountered another golden-bodied Buddha.

• Ouyang returned to the Azure Cloud Sect, reunited with Hu Tutu and the disciples, and persuaded the sect to accept Chen Changsheng and Leng Qingsong by distributing protective Paper Substitutes.
• Ouyang left with Dongxu Zi for the Great Spirit Mountain Temple, where they encountered White Elephant City and its emotionless, scripture-chanting inhabitants.
• Ouyang learned from Pu Cong that Hui Zhi’s Ten Thousand Li Buddha Kingdom turned believers’ faith into cultivation power, while Dongxu Zi fought Buddhism’s Thousand-Armed Buddha.
• Ouyang and Dongxu Zi reached the temple, where Hui Zhi revealed his vast following and the Three Thousand Buddha Kingdoms, claiming they provided for their inhabitants.
• Ouyang declared that he had come to wipe Buddhism out and attacked Hui Zhi, but Dongxu Zi stopped him and warned that destroying Buddhism would also destroy billions of lives.
• Dongxu Zi and Hui Zhi began negotiating Buddhism’s territory, while a giant Buddha recognized Ouyang as Hu Yun’s disciple and drew him away to the Lotus Flower Pond.
• Ouyang lost his true essence in the pond, struggled to seize a lotus blossom, and saw a golden-bodied Buddha seated on a gigantic lotus.

Ouyang helped divide Buddhism, accepted Hu Tutu’s fox identity, and learned of her painful past. When the Tiger Clan came to Green Mound Mountain demanding Hu Tutu as a concubine, Ouyang and his companions intervened, leaving both sides subdued by his command.

• Dharma revealed that he was Ouyang’s Fourth Martial Uncle, explained Buddhism’s tribulation, and gave Ouyang a gift from his Martial Uncles.
• Ouyang invoked the Twelfth-Grade Merit Golden Lotus to establish his claim as Buddhist Holy Son, and Dongxu Zi arranged for Ci Hang to lead a group of monks east to form Zen Buddhism.
• Dongxu Zi urged Ouyang to find his own path and grow stronger, while revealing how small the Azure Cloud Sect’s territory was in the vast world.
• The Tibetan Fox explained that Hu Tutu feared her identity as a Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox would be exposed, and Ouyang reassured her that he and the others accepted her.
• Ouyang sensed Xiao Bai’s protective talisman activate and hurried east, where he found Bai Feiyu safe and met Jiang Xiaotong, Li Taibai’s reincarnated Sword Tassel.

Ouyang brought Hu Tutu to the Ten Thousand Demon Hall to awaken her bloodline, while he reunited with Xiao Feng and uncovered the danger posed by the Xiantian Demon Gods. The group entered White Jade Capital, where three Xiantian Demon Gods appeared and one recognized Ouyang as Liang Zai.

• Ouyang drove Hu Bing away from Green Mound Mountain, then learned Hu Tutu was the surviving Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox and agreed to take her to the Ten Thousand Demon Hall.
• Ouyang and Hu Tutu entered the Demon Race Sacred Grounds, where Ouyang discovered that the Blood Lake’s awakening rites let the ancient Xiantian Demon Gods seek bodies for rebirth.
• Ouyang entered Blood City with Hu Tutu and reunited with Ma Xingye as the demons gathered for Xiao Feng’s return.
• Xiao Feng defeated the five Xiantian Demon Gods controlling the Blood Lake, claimed the throne among the half-demons, and later told Ouyang that bloodline awakening was a scheme to borrow bodies.
• Ouyang brought Hu Tutu to the Blood Lake and made a sentient blood creature raise the Ten Thousand Demon Hall from its depths.

Ouyang uncovered how Hu Tutu, Tu Yun, and Nine Tails were connected, then learned that Chang Xiaoyue and the Devil Race Seal were tied to the coming calamity. After helping Xiao Feng reach the half-demons and returning to Azure Cloud Sect with Zhao Qiansun, Ouyang received the Demon Beast Egg as Dongxu Zi affirmed their commitment to all living beings.

• Ouyang confronted the Xiantian Demon Gods, and Tutu absorbed a phantom’s divine soul before emerging as Nine Tails.
• Ouyang entered Nine Tails’s memories and found Hu Tutu imprisoned in her past, while Nine Tails returned to protect her and remembered that she and Tu Yun were the same person.
• Nine Tails gave Hu Tutu a red lotus and warned Ouyang that Leng Qingsong opening the Heavenly Gate would begin the coming calamity.
• Chang Suzhen took Ouyang to Ten Thousand Demon City, where he reunited with Zhao Qiansun and learned that Hu Yun had given him his cultivation technique.
• Chang Suzhen ordered Ouyang and Zhao Qiansun to kill Chang Xiaoyue, who carried the Devil Race Seal, but Ouyang refused to sacrifice anyone and Zhao Qiansun was poisoned.
• Xiao Feng fought Hu Bing, then led Ouyang and Zhao Qiansun to Takama-ga-hara, where the half-demons welcomed him as their Dragon King.
• Ouyang returned with Zhao Qiansun to Green Mound Mountain, and Chen Changsheng brought the group back to Azure Cloud Sect after Leng Qingsong’s sparring match.
• Dongxu Zi recognized Zhao Qiansun’s inherited legacies and gave Ouyang the Demon Beast Egg left by Hu Yan, which the sleeping little fox pulled into her embrace.
