Arc 7The Tribunal and the Vessel

Lin En investigated Hana Ye’s origins, confronted the Church over the Vessel incident, and established the Religious Tribunal while arresting Tyrael. In the dungeon, Lin En revealed his identity as the Lord of Writhing and forced Tyrael to consider helping him create a vessel for an Outer God.

  • Lin En learned that Hana Ye had been called a perfect Vessel and discovered that the Red Moon’s power had erupted around her before she collapsed.
  • Hana Ye recalled the Church’s sacrifices and the Red Moon’s arrival, while Lin En reassured her that her choices—not her origins—determined whether she was a monster.
  • Lin En gathered emotional fragments, forged origin substances, restored his masculine body with the Four Holy Flames and Dual Flesh Origin Substance, and decided to confront the Church.
  • Lin En questioned Ophiel about the Lord of Crimson and the old Red Moon conflict, then identified Tyrael as a bishop tied to Mirror’s experiments.
  • Lin En founded the Religious Tribunal at a banquet, ordered Tyrael’s arrest, and sent Mirror’s squad to capture people involved in the Vessel incident.
  • Lin En accused Tyrael of masterminding the Vessel incident and had him detained, while Mirror confronted the captured prisoners who had once experimented on her.
  • In the dungeon, Lin En deduced that Hana Ye could house the Lord of Crimson and the King of the Red Moon’s authority, then pulled Tyrael’s soul into the Warp.
  • Lin En revealed himself as the Lord of Writhing, showed Tyrael the captive Valkyrie and Lord of Crimson, and demanded help creating a vessel before removing Tyrael’s golden sixth-tier origin substance.
Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151Return!!

Lin En returned to the Second Layer after a dangerous crossing nearly triggered a reality collapse, then regrouped with his followers and learned that Hana Ye was safe in the Great Tomb. He headed to find her, while Hana Ye sat surrounded by curious ghost children.

  • Lin En nearly triggered a reality collapse while crossing from the Seventh Layer, withdrew his projection, and arrived safely in the Second Layer.
  • Lin En contacted Salgon and was brought back to [Get Lost and Die Street], where Lilith reacted with shock to his altered appearance.
  • Salgon told Lin En that Hana Ye was safe in the First Layer's Tomb and that the Church had briefly sealed off the battle sites before withdrawing.
  • Lin En told Salgon and Mirror that he had destroyed the Lord of Crimson's manifested projection and asked about the human factions' response.
  • Lin En set out to visit Hana Ye, who sat in the Great Tomb surrounded by ghost children, one of whom asked whether he had slept with her.

Ch. 152Red Moon Descent!

Hana Ye recovered fragmented memories of being abandoned at a church and learned that Anna had suffered while caring for her. A Red Moon appeared in both the Spirit Realm and the Real World, triggering a surge of power as Lin En rushed toward Hana Ye.

  • Anna asked Hana Ye whether they had met at a church in South City ten years earlier and showed her the scar left by people who beat her for taking Hana Ye's food.
  • Hana Ye recalled being abandoned by the man she called Father and learned that she had been created as the most perfect thing those people had ever made.
  • Anna told Hana Ye that a huge fire had killed them all beneath a full Red Moon.
  • Lin En and Salgon felt their power surge when a crimson full moon appeared over the Spirit Realm, and Lin En rushed into the Tomb after hearing Hana Ye scream.
  • A Red Moon appeared over the Real World in the middle of the day, darkening Clockwork City as the sun and moon shared the sky.

Ch. 153Hana Ye Seemed to Be a Monster!

Hana Ye unleashed the Red Moon’s power, nearly forcing Lin En to lose control before she recognized him and collapsed. Later, Mirror suspected Hana Ye could borrow the Red Moon’s power, and Lin En asked her to explain what had triggered it.

  • Lin En found Hana Ye surrounded by a terrifying blood-red force, while Anna told Mirror that Hana Ye had been created as the perfect Vessel.
  • Lin En tried to reach Hana Ye, but the Red Moon’s amplification overwhelmed his Vessel and began transforming his body.
  • Hana Ye recognized Lin En and said she seemed to be a monster, causing the power and strange phenomena to vanish before she lost consciousness.
  • Several hours later, Mirror could find no power within Hana Ye and suggested that she might be borrowing the Red Moon’s power.
  • Lin En sent Salgon and Lilith away, then asked Mirror to explain what had caused Hana Ye to summon the Red Moon.

Ch. 154The perfect vessel!

Mirror told Lin En that Anna had recognized Hana Ye as the girl kept apart from the other children in the experiments beneath the church, where she was called the perfect vessel. Lin En suspected Hana Ye was the culmination of a Red Moon plan involving her mother and the Lord of Crimson, and that the Red Moon’s authority was meant to descend through her.

  • Mirror told Lin En that Anna had been ordered to look after Hana Ye, who seemed to have been sent to the church willingly and was called the most perfect vessel.
  • Mirror explained that she and the other children were early test subjects whose experiments may have paved the way for a vessel created from an embryo.
  • Lin En suspected Hana Ye belonged to the Red Moon’s Vessel Family and wondered whether the Red Moon woman from Lin Ke’s book was her mother.
  • Lin En connected the woman’s journey into the Spirit Realm with the Lord of Crimson and concluded that Hana Ye’s birth could have been part of their agreement.
  • Lin En suspected the Red Moon’s power was an authority left behind by the deity and that Hana Ye could be its perfect vessel.

Ch. 155Would Have Taken Advantage While She Was Still Warm!

Lin En learned that Bishop Tyrael Lightforger had led the experiments that turned Mirror and other children into Undead, and decided to find him for information about the Crimson Lord’s Vessel. Hana Ye woke as Lin En was clearing her airway with a tentacle and bit him.

  • Lin En asked Mirror about the people who had modified her and promised to help her get revenge that day.
  • Mirror drew portraits of her captors and identified Tyrael Lightforger, a Clockwork City Bishop who had directly overseen the experiments.
  • Mirror believed Tyrael was still in Clockwork City, waiting for Hana Ye’s Vessel to mature.
  • Lin En decided to pursue Tyrael for the knowledge he held, including information that could help him obtain a new Vessel.
  • Hana Ye woke while Lin En was using a tentacle to clear her airway, bit it, and was rapped on the head by Lin En.

Ch. 156What is a monster?

Lin En comforted Hana Ye after she remembered being used in a ritual to summon the Red Moon as a child. He challenged her belief that she was a monster and asked her to decide for herself what she was.

  • Lin En woke Hana Ye and confronted her about summoning the enormous moon before she passed out.
  • Lin En pressed Hana Ye to explain what had happened after she was sent to the Church over ten years earlier.
  • Hana Ye recalled that her father had abandoned her at a Church where people called her a perfect Vessel and repeatedly sacrificed children around her.
  • Hana Ye remembered the Red Moon descending after she watched the girl who cared for her being brought to the altar.
  • Lin En realized the ritual had tested Hana Ye's ability to summon the Red Moon and told her that her actions, not her nature or origins, determined whether she was a monster.
  • Lin En asked Hana Ye to look at him and answer whether she was a monster.

Ch. 157Just a Little Longer!

Lin En comforted Hana Ye and asked why he kept protecting her, prompting her to confess how much his kindness meant to her and beg him not to abandon her soon. Lin En cautioned that her feelings might come from fearing abandonment, but Hana Ye insisted she trusted what she felt.

  • Lin En told Hana Ye that her choices, not her body, determined whether she became a monster, and flicked her forehead when she struggled to accept his point.
  • Hana Ye asked why Lin En was kind to her, explaining that she felt useless and feared he would discard her like others had.
  • Lin En first joked that he was a lolicon, then said he protected her because she belonged to him as collateral.
  • Hana Ye objected to being treated as a possession, hugged Lin En, and told him she wanted to stay with him because he had never rejected her.
  • Lin En warned Hana Ye that her attachment might stem from her fear of abandonment, but she replied that she trusted what she felt in her heart.

Ch. 158A Total of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand Fragments!

Lin En accepted Hana Ye as his wife and arranged for her to stay with him, then checked on the emotional fragments collected for his plans. Lilith revealed that her production line had gathered 125,121 fragments, leaving Salgon’s missing stash unexplained.

  • Lin En told Hana Ye she could stay with him as long as she fulfilled simple duties, starting with eating and spending time together, and said she would pay for her food.
  • Lin En asked Salgon about Mirror’s preparations and the collected fragments, then followed him to a warehouse.
  • Lin En found only two fragments in the warehouse, while Salgon insisted he had gathered a mountain of them.
  • Lilith arrived with Hana Ye, offered to become Lin En’s second wife, and told him she had built a production line.
  • Lilith dumped out 125,121 emotional fragments from her rings.

Ch. 159Let's Start with a Hundred Pulls!

Lin En learned that Lilith, Salgon, and Mirror had gathered emotional fragments in different ways and promised to remember their contributions. He then absorbed fragments up to his limit and began a hundred-pull gamble, hoping to keep his failing Vessel alive.

  • Salgon accused Lilith of taking his stockpile, and Lin En stopped their fight and ordered them to report their results separately.
  • Lilith claimed she had gathered a hundred thousand fragments, Salgon about twenty thousand, and Mirror about five thousand, explaining that she had pushed her subordinates to their limits.
  • Lin En noticed that Mirror’s fragments included positive emotions such as Hope, while Lilith’s and Salgon’s mainly came from Desire and Fear.
  • Lin En praised Lilith and promised to remember her contributions, prompting her desire to reach its daily maximum.
  • Lin En decided to gamble with his surplus fragments rather than advance his unstable Vessel, absorbed thirty thousand to max his Satiety, and started a hundred-pull draw.

Ch. 160A chaotic evil Time Stop monster!

Lin En spent vast amounts of fragments forging origin substances until he produced a nine-sequence substance, then began rolling for high-sequence combinations. He found one promising substance and another with Time Stop but dangerous negative sequences, leaving him stunned by what he might become.

  • Lin En produced three hundred origin substances, and Hana Ye helped catch them as they scattered.
  • Lin En repeatedly fused the substances, advancing through the sequences until he successfully forged one nine-sequence origin substance.
  • Lin En rolled the first high-sequence substance and found Holy Flame, Flesh, and Dream among its positive sequences.
  • Lin En rolled the second substance and discovered Flesh and Time Stop alongside Desire Enhancement, Moral Lapse, and Emotional Annihilation.
  • Lin En exclaimed that the combination could make him a chaotic evil Time Stop monster.

Ch. 161The most powerful nine-sequence origin substance in history!

Lin En tested an eight-sequence origin substance and briefly lost control to its negative effects before removing it. He then discovered that his nine-sequence origin substance was packed with mutually reinforcing negative traits and contacted Salgon to have it implanted into a weapon instead.

  • Lin En implanted the eight-sequence origin substance despite its low compatibility, and its negative effects made him attack Hana Ye.
  • Lin En regained control, removed the substance, and restored his Feminization sequence.
  • Lin En inspected his nine-sequence origin substance and found it contained only negative sequences, including Loli transformation, reduced intelligence, frailty, and masochism.
  • Hana Ye stopped Lin En from jumping into a well, and Lin En contacted Salgon about turning the dangerous substance into an aura-effect weapon.

Ch. 162Men's Clothes or Death-Pick One!

Lin En brought Hana Ye back to reality, bought men’s clothes, and endured the attention his feminized appearance drew. He then implanted the Four Holy Flames, Dual Flesh Origin Substance, restored his male body, and set off for the Church to host a Hongmen Banquet.

  • Lin En took Hana Ye back to reality through the women’s bathhouse, where he realized nobody objected because they saw him as a girl.
  • Lin En and Hana Ye left the bathhouse and went to a clothing store, where Lin En forced the shopkeeper to sell them men’s clothes at Hana Ye’s expense.
  • Lin En drew admiring looks in his tailcoat and top hat, then entered an alley and asked Hana Ye to watch his body while he returned upstairs.
  • Lin En retrieved the nurtured Four Holy Flames, Dual Flesh Origin Substance and forcibly implanted it, restoring his masculine body and gaining a boost to his perception and mental power.
  • Lin En told Hana Ye to go with him to the Church, where he planned to host a Hongmen Banquet.

Ch. 163Lin En came demanding answers!

Lin En confronted Ophiel at the church over the attack on him in the Spirit Realm, forcing her to face the church’s failure to protect him. He stopped her from taking her own life and left her kneeling in tears, still responsible for the people of Clockwork City.

  • Lin En brought Hana Ye to the church and demanded that Ophiel meet him within half an hour.
  • Ophiel emerged from the Spirit Realm and hurried to the front hall after learning Lin En had come to demand answers.
  • A Knight told the waiting clergy that someone had attacked the Divine Chosen during a battle in the Spirit Realm the previous night.
  • Lin En scolded Ophiel for half an hour while Hana Ye watched, and Ophiel admitted the failure to protect him was her responsibility.
  • Ophiel drew her sword to atone, but Lin En knocked it away and told her she could not abandon her duties to Clockwork City.
  • Ophiel knelt in tears and apologized as Lin En confronted her guilt.

Ch. 164The Great Demon's Descent Twenty Years Ago!

Lin En told Ophiel that the Lord of Crimson had descended to kill him, and Ophiel connected her to the Great Demon who nearly destroyed Clockwork City twenty years earlier. The account revealed Hana Ye’s mother had fought in that war and died giving birth to her, leaving Lin En suspicious of the truth and Hana Ye’s possible connection to the Lord of Crimson.

  • Lin En told Ophiel that the Lord of Crimson had descended through his sword and nearly killed him.
  • Ophiel connected the Lord of Crimson to the Great Demon who invaded Clockwork City twenty years earlier.
  • Ophiel described how the Red Moon empowered the Great Demon to overlay the Spirit Realm onto reality until the Great Sun dispelled it, leaving the city devastated.
  • Hana Ye said her parents had fought in the war, and Ophiel confirmed that her mother had been her valued student and lost her origin substance in the battle.
  • Ophiel said Hana Ye’s mother died from complications while giving birth, but Lin En noticed her distress and suspected she was hiding something.

Ch. 165The Grand Tribunal Office's First Day in Business!

Lin En learned that the Red Moon’s influence had been unusually strong around Clockwork City and suspected the Lord of Crimson had a hidden purpose for waiting ten years to use Hana Ye. After identifying Tyrael as a bishop in the West District, Lin En prepared to launch the Grand Tribunal Office’s first arrests.

  • Ophiel told Lin En that the Red Moon’s influence had been stronger in Clockwork City and its appearances had grown erratic around the battle twenty years ago and again recently.
  • Lin En connected the Lord of Crimson’s visit to the King of the Red Moon’s death and questioned why she had waited ten years to use Hana Ye as a vessel.
  • Ophiel warned Lin En that the Red Moon had appeared irregularly on the night of the Nine Chimes and again that morning.
  • Lin En showed Ophiel Mirror’s portrait, and she identified the man as Tyrael, one of Clockwork City’s eight bishops, who was likely at Abraham Church.
  • Lin En asked Ophiel to summon the two Tribunal Office commanders and prepared to arrest the people shown in Mirror’s portraits.

Ch. 166Undercurrents Stir!

Bishop Tyrael received an invitation to Archbishop Ophiel’s banquet, where a new Church institution would be announced, and recognized the Grand Tribunal Office as a powerful development. Meanwhile, Lin En placed Mirror in command of a team of Ability Users and ordered her to arrest Tyrael’s supporters after dark.

  • A clergyman invited Tyrael to Archbishop Ophiel’s banquet and told him that bishops, commanders, and nobles would attend to discuss a new Church institution.
  • Tyrael privately recognized the Grand Tribunal Office and reflected on how a Weird had won a lofty position in the Church.
  • Mirror met a Tribunal Squad appointed by Archbishop Ophiel, Mr. Mogans, and Lord Nero, and learned that Lin En had sent them to serve her.
  • Lin En told Mirror that the squad included twenty Three-Origin Substance Full Sequences and seven Four-Origin Substance Full Sequences, and ordered her to arrest everyone on his list after dark.
  • Mirror cried at the prospect of finally receiving an answer from her master, then ordered the Tribunal Squad to move when darkness fell.

Ch. 167A banquet with a hidden agenda!

At a lavish banquet welcoming Lin En, he prepared to arrest Bishop Tyrael over the unresolved Vessel Incident, despite lacking direct evidence. He asked Mogans and Nero to join the operation, then told them he answered to the Valkyrie.

  • Anthony boasted to the banquet guests that the Divine Chosen was his student and claimed his granddaughter Luo Luotiya had admired him for years.
  • Bishop Tyrael arrived and drew a crowd, while Anthony explained his reputation for sealing a Spirit Realm breach with Holy Flame.
  • Lin En watched the banquet through an Impression Crystal with Ophiel, Mogans, and Nero, then revealed that he planned to arrest a bishop.
  • Ophiel confirmed that Lin En's target was connected to the Vessel Incident from over ten years earlier, shocking Mogans and Nero.
  • Lin En acknowledged that he had no direct evidence and offered Mogans and Nero the choice to withdraw or help with the arrest.
  • Lin En told the hesitant men that he answered to the Valkyrie.

Ch. 168The Tribunal Office Is Established!!!

Lin En gathered Clockwork City's Church leaders and nobles, then announced the establishment of the Religious Tribunal to deal with heretics and corruption within the Church. The banquet hall remained sealed as his first case loomed.

  • Lin En reassured Mogans and Nero of his authority and ordered them to prepare for the Grand Tribunal Office's first case.
  • A barrier sealed the banquet hall, trapping the nobles, guests, and Church bishops inside.
  • Lin En arrived with Ophiel, Mogans, and Nero, and the gathered guests knelt to greet him.
  • Lin En accused hidden Church members of corruption and collusion with Spirit Realm beings, and said an assassination attempt had angered him.
  • Lin En announced that the Church's Religious Tribunal was formally established.

Ch. 169So you still remembered me!

Lin En established the Grand Tribunal Office and ordered Mogans and Nero to seize Tyrael, while Mirror confronted the Church clergy involved in the Vessel incident. The captured men recognized her as the survivor they had tormented ten years earlier.

  • Lin En declared himself Archbishop of the Tribunal Office, appointed Ophiel as his deputy, and named Mogans and Nero as enforcers.
  • Tyrael publicly supported Lin En’s reforms, and Lin En ordered Mogans and Nero to arrest him.
  • Masked operatives raided Abraham Church in Clockwork City and captured more than a dozen people involved in the Vessel incident.
  • Mirror entered the rear hall alone and removed her mask before the prisoners.
  • The prisoners recognized Mirror, and she asked whether they still remembered her.

Ch. 170The Dagger Revealed!

Lin En publicly accused Bishop Tyrael of serving the Crimson Secret Cult and masterminding the Vessel experiments, while Mogans and Nero restrained him. Tyrael denied the charges and invoked his popularity and Lin En’s authority, and Lin En ordered the guards to bring in evidence.

  • Mogans and Nero pinned Tyrael to the floor before he could fight back.
  • Lin En accused Tyrael of masterminding the Vessel incident and burning evidence beneath his church.
  • Tyrael denied the accusations, while nobles defended him and cited his longstanding reputation.
  • Tyrael privately told Lin En that he knew what Lin En was, but Lin En dismissed the threat.
  • Lin En said he would provide decisive evidence and ordered the guards to bring everyone in.

Ch. 171You want evidence! This is your evidence!

Lin En exposed Tyrael as the mastermind behind the Vessel incident, using disguised subordinates to secure the Church’s support. Tyrael was taken to the dungeon, and Lin En promised to judge him later.

  • Exorcists brought in Abraham Church clergy and reported that they had confessed to participating in the Vessel incident and named Tyrael as its mastermind.
  • Tyrael recognized several prisoners as impostors but could not convince the assembled Bishops that he was being framed.
  • Lin En accused Tyrael of serving a Great Demon and used his anger and protests to present him as guilty.
  • Tyrael appealed to Lady Ophiel and the Bishops, but Lin En admitted that his people had used origin substance to disguise themselves and pointed to his allies’ influence.
  • Lin En ordered Tyrael taken to the dungeon and said he would pass judgment on him later.

Ch. 172Going to Have the Divine Chosen's Babies!

Lin En established his authority over Clockwork City by having Tyrael taken into custody and intimidating the assembled nobles and bishops. After promising Mogans and Nero protection, he entered the dungeon alone to deal with Tyrael and pursue his real objective: finding a suitable vessel.

  • Ophiel personally subdued Tyrael, who threatened Lin En as he was led away.
  • Lin En warned the nobles that he would decide Clockwork City's future, and they raised their glasses to him in fear.
  • Luo Luotiya declared that she wanted to have Lin En's babies, while Anthony rapped her on the head and pointed out her competition.
  • Lin En left the banquet after establishing the Grand Tribunal Office and promised Mogans and Nero that their families would remain prosperous.
  • Lin En sent Mogans and Nero away with instructions to follow their plan only if he signaled, then entered the dungeon alone to confront Tyrael.

Ch. 173Interrogation!

Lin En interrogated the imprisoned Tyrael about the Vessel he had created and tried to recruit him. He threatened to destroy Hana Ye before the Lord of Crimson could descend, provoking a furious reaction from Tyrael.

  • Lin En sealed the dungeon with Holy Flame and told Tyrael he was interested in his work, not merely in their factional struggle.
  • Lin En deduced that Tyrael had created Hana Ye as a Vessel capable of bearing the Lord of Crimson's soul and the King of the Red Moon's authority.
  • Tyrael denied knowing what Lin En meant, but Lin En pointed to Hana Ye's ability to bring forth the Red Moon as evidence of her potential.
  • Lin En offered Tyrael a chance to create Vessels for him, but Tyrael rejected the offer and said his life's greatest wish had already been fulfilled.
  • Lin En threatened to destroy Hana Ye before the Lord of Crimson descended, and Tyrael reacted with fury.

Ch. 174Because I am an Outer God!

Lin En exposed Tyrael’s resentment over being overshadowed in Vessel research and offered him a chance to continue his work. He revealed his true nature by dragging Tyrael’s soul into the Warp and telling him that he was an Outer God.

  • Lin En taunted Tyrael for being only an assistant in creating Hana Ye’s Vessel, provoking him to defend his contributions to the research.
  • Tyrael explained that his Mentor forbade him from making Vessels for other Outer Gods because she wanted only the Lord of Crimson in the world.
  • Lin En offered Tyrael the chance to create another Vessel, then seized his head and pulled his soul into the Warp.
  • Tyrael saw Lin En’s monstrous Outer God form, and Lin En told him, “Because I am an Outer God.”

Ch. 175Both Your Goddesses Are Here with Me!

Lin En revealed his identity as the Lord of Writhing to Tyrael and showed him the Valkyrie and the Lord of Crimson imprisoned and tormented in the Warp, shattering his faith. Tyrael agreed to help create a vessel for Lin En, but Lin En rejected his ten-year estimate and tore a piece of golden origin substance from his abdomen.

  • Lin En revealed to Tyrael that he was the Lord of Writhing, one of the Seven Outer Gods, and explained that the Crimson Secret Cult had mistaken him for a Great Demon.
  • Lin En showed Tyrael the Valkyrie imprisoned in the black mist and claimed he had held her there for ten years.
  • Lin En showed Tyrael the Lord of Crimson bound and subjected to experiments, and taunted him about both goddesses becoming his toys.
  • Lin En asked Tyrael to help create a vessel capable of housing an Outer God, and Tyrael estimated the work could take ten years or longer.
  • Lin En plunged his hand into Tyrael's abdomen, removed a golden piece of sixth-tier origin substance, and questioned why he needed Tyrael if the work would take ten years.
