He returned to the skies above Paradise Mountain.
Jiang You saw that two pits, each a hundred meters across, were nearly finished halfway up the mountain.
With almost all the Eaglemen pitching in, digging two pits in three days had been a breeze.
Seeing everyone hard at work, Jiang You landed and joined them to finish the last few steps.
When the Eaglemen saw Jiang You, his presence felt familiar, but for a moment, they hardly dared recognize him.
Before, Jiang You had still looked somewhat like an Eagleman. Now, he looked far too different.
If they had to describe him, he looked like a Titan Giant with wings, shrunk to a hundredth of its size!
Among the Eaglemen, one who was already showing his age spoke up.
"You, is that you?"
"Liang, it's me!"
Jiang You nodded.
The friends he had grown up with had all grown old. In the primordial age, ordinary Eaglemen only lived to around fifty. Having failed to become Transcendents, they had gradually aged.
"That's wonderful! You've grown stronger again. We're another step closer to revenge!"
Liang laughed happily.
The other Eaglemen also looked delighted, sharing in his pride.
"Yes, it won't be much longer."
Jiang You answered, then faced his fellow tribespeople and declared loudly.
"But I can't raze the Heavenly Mountain Royal Court on my own. Now, I've found a good way for all of you to grow stronger alongside me!"
"How?"
"Can it really work? Our tribe doesn't have a single Eagleman with the potential to become a Transcendent!"
The tribespeople voiced their doubts.
Jiang You explained loudly.
"I evolved and grew stronger because of titan blood, and now we have titan blood right before us."
"My people, I had you dig these two pits not just to bury the dead Titan and dragon, but also to use their blood to transform us!"
"I'll build a pool here so that every member of our tribe can bathe in titan blood!"
"But legends say titan blood must never be touched. Anyone who touches it will burst into flames and die!"
One tribesperson questioned him.
"I have a way!"
Jiang You said firmly.
A day later.
Two pits large enough to hold the Titan and the dragon had been completed halfway up the mountain.
Jiang You then led all the tribe's able-bodied young adults ten thousand li away, where they hauled the two colossal bodies back one at a time and buried them in the enormous pits.
After burying them, Jiang You established a forbidden zone around the pit containing the Primordial Black Dragon and built a pool a hundred meters across above the buried Light Female Titan.
He crushed the Blue Stone and scattered it evenly across the bottom of the pool. Then he cut an opening in the female Titan's corpse, allowing thin streams of golden blood to flow continuously into the pool.
Once these preparations were complete.
He gathered all his tribespeople to bathe together in the small pool.
Only a small number of Eaglemen changed after their first bath in titan blood.
But Jiang You required every Eagleman in the tribe to come here and bathe once every seven days.
And so.
As time passed.
Their feathers slowly began to fall away, their beaks gradually fell off, and their gray-black plumage began turning white. Their hands and feet also became more humanlike.
Yet no one awakened as a Transcendent.
Becoming a Transcendent was simply too difficult.
Another twenty years passed.
At the summit of Paradise Mountain, Jiang You stood on high, looking down over the entire Paradise Mountain tribe.
With pure white wings on his back, silver hair, violet eyes, and handsome features, he looked like a miniature Titan!
The Paradise Mountain tribe now numbered five thousand, and their appearance had changed enormously from that of the Eaglemen they had once been.
Jiang You estimated that in another hundred years, before the titan blood ran out, all his tribespeople would look just like him.
Then he would no longer be the sole member of the Winged People!
Looking at the ever-growing village below, which could even be called a small town, Jiang You could not help sighing.
"It's just a shame that Liang, Sang, and Lie never became Transcendents. Time really wears us down. All my old friends have died of old age."
Before you continue
