Background / History

Origins and Ancient Rule

According to Christina, Titans carry the bloodline of the Human Race and most likely evolved from beings ancient humans created. This ancestry makes certain Sanctuary weapons especially effective against them 22.

The Titans and Primordial Dragons divided the world between them. Titans ruled half of primordial Ferland and granted gifts of enlightenment that transformed creatures such as Four-legged Eagles and Two-legged Snakes into the intelligent Eaglemen and Snake People 1 3 5.

Their wars depended heavily on conscripted subject races. Yi described the Titan–dragon conflict as already a thousand years old when he departed for the Vast Sea Forest; tribal Eaglemen were so vulnerable that incidental attacks from stronger combatants could kill them in large numbers 1 2.

War with the Primordial Dragons

Yateli’s killing of Blue Dragon King Arillethos, the Primordial Dragon Emperor’s son, triggered a worldwide escalation. After tearing off Arillethos’s head, Yateli harvested his body and wore the head as a helmet at his victory celebration 7 8 9.

The ensuing war devastated both ruling races and their subjects. Asuna died fighting the Primordial Black Dragon Mephit while avenging her younger brother; Nature Titan Tiyilan’er also fell, leaving instructions for the Giantwood Clan to sail east 14 18.

The final Titan–dragon battle took place on the Sky Plains. Ashumis and the Dragon Emperor gravely wounded each other and disappeared afterward. Later intelligence reported fewer than ten surviving Titans, all grievously wounded 19 20.

Fall at Proadas

As goblin power grew, Yateli attempted to punish their rebellion but withdrew after sensing a deadly threat near the Goblin King Court. He returned to the Titan Ancestral Land to help his people recover 21.

At Proadas, eight Titans—three adults and five juveniles—faced Amigel’s million-strong alliance. Jiang You’s Winged People helped a Legendary Dwarf kill a juvenile Sand Titan, marking the first Titan slain by a mortal race rather than Titans or dragons 26 28 29.

Amigel’s Holy Lance fatally struck Yateli. Before dying, Yateli ordered Badex and Emex to take the children, find Ashumis, and restore their race. The six remaining Titans escaped through astral teleportation, ending Titan rule without exterminating the race 29.

Appearance

  • Humanoid features: Asuna has a beautiful face, fair skin, and a graceful figure; humans and the transformed Jiang You are explicitly compared to miniature Titans 14 16 20.
  • Colossal stature: Juveniles at Proadas stand nearly one hundred meters tall; Asuna exceeds one hundred meters, Yateli is approximately two hundred meters tall, and Ashumis is described as five hundred meters tall 5 14 27 28.
  • Individual coloring: Yateli has purple hair and golden eyes, with purple lightning continually coiling around his body 5.
  • Golden blood: Demigod Titans bleed gold 6 14.

Abilities & Skills

Innate Strength and Elemental Power

  • Exceptional physical power: Yateli tears off a primordial dragon’s head with his hands. Even a juvenile Titan combines immense bodily strength with powerful magic 7 29.
  • Thunder: Yateli surrounds himself and his spear with lightning. At Proadas, eighteen enormous lightning bolts kill tens of thousands in a single attack 6 29.
  • Light: Asuna concentrates nearly all her remaining light power into a spear strike that collides with Mephit’s darkness and devastates the surrounding forest 14.
  • Sand: The juvenile Sand Titan unleashes torrents of sand and dust against the Winged People 29.
  • King-level power: Ashumis is described as possessing strength comparable to gods despite not ascending to a divine throne 5 27.

Overwhelming Majesty

  • Yateli’s presence makes weaker beings tremble and buckle; his victory celebration forces even the newly Transcendent Jiang You to one knee 5 9.
  • Jiang You recovers quickly after absorbing Titan and dragon blood, demonstrating that this pressure can be resisted 9.

Transformative Blood

  • Danger to ordinary beings: Titan blood is believed to burn anyone who touches it to death 1 16.
  • Protected absorption: The glowing Blue Stone allows Jiang You and Little Turtle to survive exposure. Their bath in Yateli’s and Arillethos’s blood raises their attributes and awakens lightning power 6.
  • Bloodline mutation: A later bath in Asuna’s blood awakens Jiang You’s light power and completes the mutation that produces the Winged People bloodline 15.
  • Gradual racial transformation: Repeated baths in a pool lined with crushed Blue Stone change the Eaglemen’s feathers, beaks, hands, and feet. These changes do not immediately make them Transcendents 16.
  • Preservation after death: Demigod corpses can remain undecayed for millennia, allowing Asuna’s body to serve as a long-term source of transformative blood 14 16.

Astral Escape

  • Six surviving Titans vanish through astral teleportation after Yateli’s defeat 29.
  • The passage does not identify which Titan initiates the teleportation or explain its requirements 29.

Weaknesses and Counters

  • Human-derived weapons: Sanctuary equipment can target Titans through their human ancestry. Amigel’s Holy Lance locks onto Yateli’s human blood and Transcendent source before piercing him 22 29.
  • Vulnerable points: Radiant Armor-Piercing Arrows aimed at a juvenile Titan’s weak points leave him wounded enough for a Legendary Dwarf to behead him 29.
  • Mortality: Titans can be killed by comparable supernatural opponents or coordinated mortal forces; their innate rank does not make them invincible 14 28 29.

Royal Court and Subject Races

  • Capital: Proadas stands atop Mount Proadas. Ashumis reportedly used one million slaves and nearly a thousand years to build it 27.
  • Titan-sized architecture: Its main gate is three hundred meters tall and its walls five hundred meters high; enslaved subjects use a separate three-meter entrance 27.
  • Royal throne: Mount Proadas’s summit was carved into Ashumis’s immense throne. By the alliance’s arrival, the city is ruined and the throne is gone 27.
  • Subject peoples: These include Eaglemen, Snake People, goblins, trolls, dwarves, centaurs, merfolk, fishmen, mixed-blood giants, fairies, tree spirits, and boarmen 3 5 6.
  • Divine ambition: The Titan King told Yateli that the lesser sapient races held the secret to godhood; otherwise, Yateli considered their lives beneath his concern 9.
