The hospital room fell silent for a moment, save for Sylvia's soft, even breathing.
Victoria zipped up her backpack, then seemed to remember something. She raised her head again and looked at Greg, a hint of curiosity in her gray-blue eyes.
"Oh, right, there's something... Did you offend someone at the Academy before? Or have any particularly... unusual contact with someone?"
"Huh? What do you mean?" Greg's heart skipped a beat, but he put on a puzzled expression.
"There's a girl in the second year named Catherine Roman. You know her, right?"
Victoria watched his expression.
"She posted a personal commission on the Academy's Quest Board, offering a full fifty gold coins. The request was simple: find Greg Sass in the Dungeon and pass along a message."
"What?! Catherine's looking for me?! She even posted a commission?!"
Greg's heart jolted, and he nearly sprang out of bed.
He had thought the past few days had put that incident behind him, but apparently, he had still ended up in her sights.
Could it be... those three upperclassmen failed to keep their mouths shut after all and gave away my identity?
But once he calmed down and thought it over, with Catherine Roman's brains and resourcefulness, she might have deduced that he was connected to these incidents through her keen instincts and intelligence network, even if those three had kept their lips sealed.
What a pain... Is there really no avoiding her after all...?
Greg felt a headache coming on.
Being targeted by the deep, calculating fourth heroine was definitely not a pleasant experience.
But now that things had come to this, simply running away clearly wasn't the answer.
She had publicly offered a reward for finding him, making her stance perfectly clear.
If he kept hiding, he would only look guilty.
