Greg fought the hooded man, whose spiritual erosion and earth magic nearly overwhelmed him. He devoured the power in the tablets and Breath of Slumber, survived the man's final attack, and emerged with stronger dark magic and upgraded armor and spells.
Greg survived the hooded man’s attack and defeated him with [Void Erosion LV2], revealing the attacker as a Guardian of the Demon King Cult. Greg recognized him as one of Melina Belladonna’s trusted confidants, linking the attack to her.
After defeating the hooded man, Greg collapsed from exhaustion, and Sylvia caught him as she realized she had fallen in love with him. As Greg lost consciousness, a mature woman appeared above the ruins, signaling another powerful presence.
Wendy recruited slum girls into the Night Church by promising that Ellie would protect them from the Gray Rat Gang, then persuaded the sleepy Ellie to attack the gang. As Ellie set out, she nearly collided with a mysterious young woman with deep purple eyes.
Ellie encountered Melina in the slums before continuing to deal with the Gray Rat Gang. Melina warned her followers not to confront Ellie, then learned that Rockthorn had died while assisting Audrey Hope.
Greg woke in a hospital after being unconscious for a day and night following the battle with the hooded Demon. Victoria recounted a string of dangerous accidents that she had endured while protecting him, and she began packing to leave the room.
Victoria told Greg that Catherine Roman had posted a commission to find him, and Greg decided he could no longer avoid her. After Victoria thanked him for saving Sylvia and left, Greg realized the Academy's Daily News had reported on the incident.
Vivian Kahn heard Student Council members discuss Greg Sass’s reported victory over a Demon King Cult officer and their former marriage agreement, while insisting she did not regret its cancellation. Laila reported that Lilith had met Vivian’s conditions, and Vivian lifted her confinement while warning her to behave; praise of Lilith’s talent left Vivian quietly tense.
Greg Sass tried to avoid a summons from the headmistress, but went to her office after learning that refusal could cost him access to the Dungeon and saddle him with his hospital bill. On the way, he discovered that news of his fight with a Demon King Cult officer had spread across the Academy.
Greg questioned Nightmare about her resistance to the Outer Gods and her motive for killing them, leading her to discover a gap in her memories. Meanwhile, Sylvia woke to find Greg gone and secretly lingered over his pillow before Victoria interrupted her; Sylvia hid what she had been doing, though a shadow of jealousy remained.
Greg visited Academy Head Olivia Moore, finding her office cluttered with liquor and snacks while she watched a cowboy film. Olivia questioned why he showed her so little fear or respect, and Greg gave her a flippant answer before she could explain why she had summoned him.
Academy Head Olivia revealed that she knew Greg Sass had used Dark Attribute Magic and asked him to become the Top Student. She finally disclosed that her real goal was for him to represent Glory Kail Academy in the next Five-Academy Competition.
Greg learned that Olivia wanted him to represent Glory Kail Academy in the Five-Academy Competition so he could defeat rival students and publicly humiliate their Academy Heads. She offered to protect his Dark Attribute Magic by presenting it as the academy’s secret strength, and Greg accepted, only to discover he would have to attend classes and face Olivia’s threats and teasing.
Greg woke in his Dungeon camp to find his former fiancée, Vivian Kahn, threatening him with a sword. Vivian explained that Academy Head Olivia had sent her to remind Greg to stop skipping classes, and she was surprised to find him living in the Dungeon.
Vivian found Greg living in a crude Dungeon camp and, acting on Academy Head Olivia's orders, woke him to return to the Academy. She told the shocked Greg that he had been appointed a temporary Disciplinary Committee Member on the Student Council, leaving him horrified at his new assignment.
Greg walked with Vivian Kahn through the Academy as students gossiped about their broken engagement, and he considered how to prevent Vivian’s future fall into darkness. He identified the growing conflict between Vivian and her sister Lilith as Act Two’s hidden plotline, while recognizing that their talent gap was its root cause.
Greg considered asking Vivian to help him clear the Academy Dungeon’s Second Floor, hoping to gain strength and earn her favor. Before he could devise a way to persuade her, Catherine Roman appeared and requested a private conversation with him.
Catherine Roman arranged to meet Greg Sass on the avenue so she could discuss the Screech project and secure his silence. When she invited him to talk, Vivian Kahn refused on his behalf, leaving Greg wondering whether his former fiancée still cared for him.
Catherine tried to recruit Greg Sass, but Vivian Kahn refused on his behalf because he had Student Council duties as a Disciplinary Committee Member. Vivian and Greg left together, while Catherine reconsidered her approach after learning of Greg’s unexpected appointment.
Yelina anxiously awaited a task from Vivian, recalling how her terrible luck had repeatedly turned routine disciplinary duties into disasters and how Greg Sass had bullied and frightened her. When Vivian introduced Greg as a temporary member of the disciplinary committee and assigned Yelina to teach him the procedures, Yelina fainted.
Yelina woke in the hospital and learned Greg had carried her there after she fainted. Convinced his injuries and concern proved he was a good person, she insisted on immediately teaching him his Disciplinary Committee duties, ruining his hopes of avoiding work.
Greg and Yelina arrived at the Academy courtyard to mediate a dispute between Victoria and a noble girl over a jeweled glove. When the noble girl insulted Greg’s family status and his place on the Disciplinary Committee, he stayed calm and prepared to handle the situation.
Yelina defended Greg when a noble girl accused Victoria of stealing her gloves, and Greg used Academy regulations to reject the girl’s demand. The noble girl left in anger, while Greg and Victoria shared a satisfied grin under Sylvia’s watchful gaze.
Greg advised Victoria where to sell the gloves and arranged for Yelina to deliver his Student Council report so he could return to the Dungeon. As he prepared to leave, Sylvia suddenly grabbed his wrist.
Sylvia boldly tried to repay Greg by offering to help him with anything, but Greg resisted accepting her advances because he feared being locked into her exclusive route. He asked her to invite Victoria to explore the Dungeon's Second Floor with them, leaving their relationship unresolved.
