When Ji Luo had looked down over all of Fog Town from the watchtower, he had clearly seen the last Winterhold Knight riding his warhorse at full gallop toward the western exit.
Yet in the mere three minutes he had spent helping Lu Ziye forge a greataxe with Ashen Shaping, the rider had vanished!
"That means he definitely jumped off his horse during those three minutes and pulled a decoy trick!"
"He let his warhorse keep galloping down the main road to draw in the players lying in ambush or chasing him, then slipped onto a side path himself."
Ji Luo's mind raced.
Since the man was fleeing for his life, there was no way he would double back!

That area was now crawling with players looking for fun. If the last Novice Knight headed north, he would be walking straight into their trap.
Besides, Ji Luo had been on the northern watchtower at the time. Even with the ruins blocking his view, he could not possibly have missed someone fleeing in his direction entirely.
"The main road runs due west, and the warhorse has already drawn most of the players that way. He'd be even less likely to walk straight into their sights."
"So..."
Ji Luo's gaze sharpened:
"His only option was to take a side path and flee
