History

Cataclysm and Project New Hope

Blue Star’s Cataclysm brings a weakening geomagnetic field, slowing rotation, destructive climate changes, tsunamis, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. Great Xia responds through the Ark Plan, constructing thirty-six underground cities while citizens accept reduced consumption and resource allocation 810.

Lin Mo’s ability to travel to Terra creates a second survival strategy: Project New Hope. Initially, he is Great Xia’s only bridge to the other world, making his safety a national priority. Reports of Astral Teleportation and a two-way portal turn Terra from a remote possibility into a potential refuge for civilization 43 49.

The First Expeditionary Army is mobilized to secure that opportunity. Military industry and food production shift toward the coming operation, including stockpiles of self-heating rations 51.

Intervention on Terra

Great Xia enters Terra through the Holy Human Race’s Portal and helps the Elves reclaim Emerald Leaf City. Its subsequent operations on the Endless Plains disrupt the Demon Clan’s campaign and contribute to the deaths of several high-ranking commanders 432.

Early access is constrained by a Portal lasting only ten days and too small to accommodate Great Xia’s full military system. Lin Mo therefore demands a permanent Astral Portal under Great Xia’s complete control and territory of its own as conditions for continued trade 107 186.

The struggle escalates into a decisive allied battle around Great Xia’s fief. Its 100,000-strong expeditionary force reports 5,000 killed, while the three-million-strong Allied Army loses hundreds of thousands. Great Xia subsequently accepts an equal six-way division of spoils, with compensation for especially severe losses, rather than demanding a share proportional to its firepower 454 456.

Nuclear War and Surface Recovery

Eagle Country’s attempts to obtain Great Xia’s technology develop into diplomatic pressure, military exercises, and infiltration. Great Xia exposes the infiltration operation, mobilizes its forces, and directs its population underground as the confrontation escalates into global nuclear war 135 227 333 335.

Despite exceeding the cities’ intended capacity, Great Xia shelters every citizen. Advance preparations and twenty years of stockpiled supplies leave it in a substantially stronger position than other nations after the surface becomes uninhabitable 339 344.

Its response is also coercive: Great Xia orders the destruction of elevator passages connecting nearby foreign underground cities to the surface, deliberately preventing potential enemies from emerging to threaten its recovery 375.

World Trees become central to restoring habitable conditions. As radiation recedes and the environment improves, residents return to the surface, eventually including hundreds of millions of ordinary families 370 372 496 900.

Blue Star’s Invasion and Interstellar Expansion

The Demon Clan eventually establishes at least fifty-three confirmed wormholes across Blue Star. Great Xia adopts a strategy in which Terra’s high-order fighters engage the Demon God while unmanned forces fight the wider army and recover demon remains for military production 605.

A total of 550,000 troops from the Holy Human Race, Dwarves, Elves, and Half-Orcs later arrive under Great Xia’s unified command. Great Xia supplies terminals, reconnaissance, routes, and battlefield support while also monitoring the allied armies 681.

Cooperation with Kona accelerates industrial development, followed by the establishment of the Interstellar Fleet. Elder Zhao describes the transformation from near-extinction to this stage as taking three years 735 807 811.

Survival remains unfinished. Blue Star’s accelerating orbital decay is projected to carry it into the sun in ninety-nine years, while Great Xia’s later megaprojects stretch across three star systems and strain its available workforce 496 945.

Government and Society

Citizenship and Autonomous Regions

  • National law takes precedence: Tribal customs cannot override Great Xia’s laws; military command, resources, and finances must follow the national system 881.
  • Protected local identities: The Dwarves and Half-Orcs retain their languages, cultures, tribal traditions, and lawful private property 890.
  • Equal civic standing: Incorporated residents receive Great Xia citizenship alongside obligations including military service, taxation, and unified administration 881 890.
  • Managed transition: Incorporation requires population and resource registration, followed by plans for education, healthcare, housing, food distribution, and military reorganization 881.
  • Practical accommodation: Services adapt to different peoples’ needs, including mobile medical stations and water supplies for migrating Half-Orc tribes 899.

Public Services and Population

  • Family support: Education is free, medical care is fully covered, and housing is allocated according to household size 900.
  • Automated distribution: The central supercomputer Nuwa allocates supplies needed by growing children 900.
  • Population recovery: Birth incentives and widespread Life Potions accompany the birth of 100 million children over several years 900.
  • Digital administration: Online systems handle identity registration, appointments, school enrollment, taxes, logistics, and public-security information 899.
  • Labor limits: Even after the population exceeds one billion, only about 300–400 million people are available for frontline heavy industry once other essential groups are excluded 945.

Military and Technology

Combined-Arms Warfare

Great Xia’s military strength rests on industrial production, logistics, and coordinated firepower rather than the innate strength of individual humans 433 455.

  • Ground forces: Tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, exoskeleton troops, robot legions, mechanical dogs, and self-propelled artillery 212 455 629.
  • Air forces: Fighters, bombers, helicopters, reconnaissance aircraft, and drone swarms 277 681 890.
  • Naval forces: Carrier groups, destroyers, submarines, and unmanned warships; the navy is later incorporated as a branch of the Interstellar Fleet 233 587 890.
  • Space forces: Armed satellites, orbital weapons, aerospace fighters, space mecha, and spacecraft 587 705.
  • Fire control: Satellite surveillance, drone reconnaissance, and precision artillery allow attacks far beyond visual contact 134 433.

Strategic Weapons

  • Cubic-nitrogen hypersonic missiles: Used in repeated precision strikes against Sixth-Rank commanders 307.
  • Nuclear weapons: Kill three fleeing Seventh-Order Demon Venerables during the decisive Terra campaign 455.
  • Antimatter bombs: Provide a means of fighting Demon God-level beings, but still require a successful close-enough detonation 527 811.
  • Plasma and electromagnetic weapons: Deployed across infantry, vehicles, and spacecraft; Kuafu destroys a sixth-rank mutant Siege Beast with its plasma main cannon 455 587 590.
  • Planet-Buster Cannons: Included in the later joint construction agreement with Kona 935.

Limits and Vulnerabilities

  • Human fragility: Great Xia’s ordinary personnel are physically weaker than many Terra combatants and depend heavily on equipment and support 454.
  • High-order opponents: Demon God-level speed and defenses can make conventional missiles, nuclear weapons, and even antimatter delivery ineffective 527.
  • Ammunition consumption: Approximately five million tonnes of reserves sustain only around five hours of extreme saturation bombardment by a 100,000-strong armored force 444.
  • Deployment capacity: Possessing space-combat technology does not mean Great Xia can immediately manufacture or field it at scale 705.
  • Kona’s technological lead: Kona’s restored fleet demonstrates capabilities Great Xia’s own fleet cannot yet match 831.

Economy and Resources

Cross-World Trade

  • Exports: Weapons, ammunition, vehicles, appliances, phones, medicines, industrial tools, clothing, cosmetics, food, and seasonings 523 680 727.
  • Imports: Ores, magic materials, enchanted goods, specialty crops, fruits, and other Terra resources 107 680.
  • Trade surplus: Great Xia converts imported raw materials into higher-value industrial goods; Terra’s purchases eventually equal a month of Great Xia’s pre-catastrophe exports to Blue Star’s other nations 741.
  • Energy-block market: Appliances and later plasma weapons create continuing demand for energy blocks 523 680.
  • Automated production: Underground factories can rapidly switch product lines, while universal factories eventually remove everyday supply shortages for Great Xia’s population 727 735.

Demon Clan Salvage

  • War feeds production: Demon remains are processed into energy blocks and military materials 590 605.
  • Major windfall: One postwar assessment values recovered materials and energy at more than fifty years of development after costs 806.
  • Processing hazards: Decay, energy leakage, and corrosion require rapid salvage and expanded refining capacity 806.

Culture and Influence

  • Historical identity: Great Xia describes itself as possessing five thousand years of history and cultural heritage; before Terra’s incorporation, it has fifty-six ethnic groups 650 717.
  • Deliberate assimilation policy: Leaders promote cultural identification through language, education, trade, and marriage, aiming to make Terra’s peoples increasingly dependent on Great Xia’s systems 463 650.
  • Entry preparation: Visitors from Terra undergo a week of instruction covering law, taxation, contracts, traffic, sanitation, epidemic prevention, and fire safety 650.
  • Everyday appeal: Half-Orc visitors specifically praise adequate food and treatment as equals; Great Xia’s soldiers also become known for petting their ears, heads, and tails 271.
  • Infrastructure dependence: Holy Light City increasingly relies on Great Xia’s electricity, communications, food, and antibiotics despite the Holy Human Race remaining independent 899.
  • Political marriage: Lin Mo and Fendona’s wedding is treated as Great Xia’s first high-level cross-civilization marriage alliance 902.

Foreign Relations

  • Half-Orc Alliance — Develops from an arms customer and military ally into part of Great Xia. Its chieftains unanimously support incorporation, followed by the formal establishment of an autonomous region 244 881 890.
  • Dwarf Kingdom — Supplies craftsmanship and rune expertise before formally joining Great Xia alongside the Half-Orcs 429 890.
  • Elves — Military and commercial partners who remain independent. Aid can involve binding obligations: one agreement exchanges three Seventh-Order combatants for two unconditional future interventions 568 899.
  • Holy Human Race — Provides Great Xia’s original route into Terra and later signs the Joint Legion and mutual-defense agreement without joining the nation 432 890 899.
  • Dragon Clan — Allies with Great Xia against the Demon Clan and assists with battlefield salvage and transport 429 456.
  • Kona Civilization — A more technologically advanced partner exchanging technology for assistance. Both sides preserve their independence; Great Xia keeps its networks and defense zone physically isolated from Kona systems 662 668 826.
  • Eagle Country — Rival responsible for sanctions, espionage, technological pressure, and military intimidation. Its ability to threaten Great Xia collapses after nuclear war 37 135 333 372.
  • Demon Clan — Great Xia’s principal military enemy. Its commanders regard Great Xia’s research speed and ability to mass-produce powerful weapons as an escalating threat 425 493.
