Background / History

Summoning and the postponed contract

Feeny first contacted Chaos through magical runes appearing on his Water Blade Slash casting ring, offering to become his contracted water elemental fairy. When he tapped the ring, she emerged physically. The hot water used to construct it scalded her feet, which Chaos healed with life mana 29.

She immediately renewed her request for a contract. Such contracts allow fairies to share a skilled caster’s knowledge of their element, accelerating growth that would otherwise require long periods of time. Chaos privately wanted an elemental king instead, but presented his refusal as concern that they should know each other before making a potentially lifelong commitment 29.

Feeny accepted his suggestion to become friends over a meal. Having never eaten before, she tried well-done fish and found it bland. Chaos then argued that their meal should not count unless both enjoyed it, persuading her to postpone the contract until another meal 29 30.

Supporting the battle against Bamokangla

Feeny accompanied Chaos and the dragon hatchlings toward the underground lake. When his poor endurance left him struggling during the flight, she reassured him that his spellcasting talent would eventually make him stronger than the others. She also praised White Chubby for carrying him, temporarily setting aside their earlier quarrel 31 33.

During construction of the Water Snake Formation, Feeny agreed to supply magic power through a Kashi Magic Core. She sat on the core at the serpent’s head and connected her mana to it, causing it to glow blue 35 36.

After Chaos defeated Bamokangla and collapsed, Feeny examined him with her mana. She established that he was uninjured and merely exhausted, then informed Agatha and the gathered hatchlings that rest would allow him to recover 39.

Hot pot and rivalry with Vinnie

Feeny continued seeking a contract after Chaos recovered. Following an unsuccessful taste of Bamokangla’s hard, bitter magic core, she resolved to praise whatever he cooked next so that another unsatisfactory meal would not delay their agreement 40 41.

While preparing hot pot, Chaos gave a noncommittal answer that Feeny interpreted as agreement to contract after eating. He then sent her to fetch Agatha and summoned the life elemental fairy Vinnie, deliberately introducing a rival to keep Feeny occupied 42 43.

Feeny accused Vinnie of trying to steal Chaos, and the two fought by pulling each other’s hair. They stopped when the hot pot’s aroma attracted their attention; neither had gained the upper hand. Chaos later gave them miniature stone furniture and tableware. Feeny ate her fill and helped replenish the pot with river water 44 45 46.

Feeny is only slightly larger than an adult’s thumb, with delicate features and a predominantly pale-blue appearance 29.

Feeny is energetic, boastful, and eager to demonstrate her usefulness. She repeatedly calls herself capable, readily volunteers to help Chaos, and responds to his praise with delighted laughter. Her confidence can become confrontational: after mocking White Chubby’s fall, she challenges the hatchling to a duel 29 31 35 36.

She is also trusting and emotionally transparent. She openly tells Chaos that she likes him and trusts him without hesitation, accepting his repeated delays as consideration for her feelings. Her concern is genuine: she comforts him during the journey and checks his condition after the battle 30 33 39.

Her inherited knowledge makes her wary of Chromatic Dragons, particularly Agatha, but she overcomes that fear when Chaos asks for help. By contrast, perceived competition for Chaos provokes possessiveness: she insists that she is his only friend and tries to drive Vinnie away 30 43 44.
