Arc 13Secrets and the Menos Attack

Yamabuki Chidori trained Kuchiki Kyōka, investigated a revenge plot, and took Kyōraku Tōshirō and the Chizome siblings into his orbit while Aizen pursued Hollowfication experiments. The arc ended with Chizome Tano dead, Tsubaki and Souya recovering, and Hirako confronting Chidori about his secret research.

  • Yamabuki Chidori trained Kuchiki Kyōka in swordsmanship and other combat skills, then sent him to investigate a series of murders and attacks.

Arc 14The Kenpachi Succession

Yamabuki Chidori recruited allies for his secret plan while Kuruyashiki became the 11th Division Captain and refused the Zero Division’s invitation. Ten years later, Chidori began training the young Yoruichi, whose attempts to learn his weaknesses led Kisuke Urahara to suggest exploiting his fear of centipedes.

  • Yamabuki Chidori revealed his plan to Hirako and gave him a Simplified Hogyoku, while Aizen sent Aseria to assassinate him and Hirako escaped the attack with Kuruyashiki’s help.
  • Yamabuki Chidori recruited Lisa Yadōmaru, Kensei Muguruma, and Hiyori for his secret organization, while Aizen arranged a Hollow attack to observe Kuruyashiki and the Soul Reapers.

Arc 15The Eighth Kenpachi

Yamabuki Chidori advanced Soul Society’s technology and mentored its young Shinigami as Chizome Souya defeated Kuruyashiki Kenpachi and became the eighth Kenpachi. Souya’s plan to turn ordinary souls into weapons was approved by Central 46, leaving Yoruichi and others troubled by what he intended to do.

  • Yamabuki Chidori expanded the Shino Academy curriculum, strengthened the 12th Division’s research, and won approval to produce Spirit Particle Cannons and use wormholes.
  • Aizen Sōsuke formed the Espada, while Zendouji Yuuhin left the 12th Division, opened a successful pharmacy, and recruited Aikawa Ramu to become a Shinigami.
  • Kisuke Urahara, Yoruichi, Kūkaku Shiba, and Aikawa Ramu encountered Hollowed Soul Reapers in a Tsunayashiro laboratory, and Yamabuki Chidori arrived to defeat them and confront Aizen.

Arc 16Quincy War and New Captains

Yamabuki Chidori exposed a noble-Quincy conspiracy, defeated the invading Quincy forces, and spared the young Longyin. Afterward, Kensei Muguruma and Kyōraku Tōshirō earned Captain posts through a rescue mission, while Kuna Shiro joined Chidori’s secret organization and gained Hollowfication.

  • Chizome Souya transformed kidnapped noble scions into Modified Weapons, but Central 46 stripped him of his captaincy and assigned him to the Fourth Division, and Gosuke took over the 11th Division after the Kenpachis trained him.
