Ye Lin and the others raced into the base while three Echo Demons pursued them, forcing the group to shut the outer door as Aroro picked the inner lock. Aroro opened the base entrance just as the Echo Demons melted through the outer door and reached inside.
Ye Lin led the survivors into the base as Echo Demons pursued them, but he feared they could break through the sealed entrance. He chose to search the Residential Area for ID Badges before seeking weapons, hoping to buy time to find a way to defeat the monsters.
Ye Lin assessed the Echo Demons and concluded that he needed to fuse stronger abilities to survive them and the rival teams. At the Residential Area, he sent the group to search for the Officer Area and asked Aroro to undertake a dangerous task in exchange for protecting his people.
Ye Lin led the group toward the combat readiness area while using Aroro as bait to draw the Echo Demons away, betting that their sound-based tracking would be confused by the base and his blood trail. An Ke realized Aroro might survive by hiding in the energy area's nuclear reactor, but Huang Liang warned that the plan was not so simple.
Ye Lin and the others raced to find weapons before the Echo Demons broke through the Alloy Door, while An Ke devised ways to mislead and delay the monsters. As the door gave way, An Ke split from Huang Liang and He Zheng to reach the control room, leaving them to search the combat readiness area with Ye Lin.
An Ke searched the command area for a way to distract the Echo Demons and found the base’s broadcast controls. As a powerful horned Echo Demon breached the Alloy Door, she triggered every alarm, leaving the group’s survival dependent on whether the noise would interfere with the monsters.
An Ke, He Zheng, Huang Liang, and Lin Yu scrambled to track and arm themselves against the Echo Demons, but their weapons offered no certainty of victory. An Ke warned that the Two-Horned Demon would reach them in about forty-five seconds, while Ye Lin had determined they would all die within 1.3 seconds even with Deathmatch activated.
Ye Lin gathered the others to ambush an Echo Demon, hoping to kill it and Devour its ability before the Two-Horned Demon could arrive. The grenade drew the nearest Echo Demon toward their trap, and the attack was about to begin.
Ye Lin realized the Echo Demon could not maintain its sonic shield while launching a sonic attack, so he risked using himself as bait to create an opening for the others. The Echo Demon pursued him with a sonic blast as he raced past it, leaving the others poised to interrupt its attack.
Ye Lin and the others combined their abilities and weapons to kill the Echo Demon, but Aroro warned Ye Lin that the monsters were a trap just as a magic circle appeared beneath the corpse. The group’s victory ended with an unknown threat about to emerge.
Aroro disrupted the Two-Horned Demon's teleportation with a grenade, but the demon struck him down and continued its arrival. As the demon materialized beside Ye Lin, Ye Lin stayed behind to devour a corpse and gain a chance to fight, while An Ke pulled He Zheng and Huang Liang toward safety.
Ye Lin devoured the Echo Demon and gained Binding Claw, then used it alongside Deathmatch to briefly restrain and wound the Two-Horned Demon. He fled to buy time for He Zheng and the others to find a weapon, while the monster rapidly regained its speed in pursuit.
He Zheng, Huang Liang, Lin Yu, and Ye Lin’s group found the A10 hangar stocked with bombers, heavy missiles, and thermobaric bombs. Ye Lin was left trapped between the pursuing Two-Horned Demon and another Echo Demon, with no clear way to survive.
Ye Lin turned the Echo Demon’s sonic attack against the Two-Horned Demon, killing the Echo Demon and badly injuring his pursuer. With his abilities exhausted, he fled toward An Ke and the others, but the Two-Horned Demon broke through Binding Claw with blazing speed and was set to catch him before they could arrive.
An Ke swapped places with Ye Lin while carrying the Fuel-Air Explosive Bomb, trapping the Two-Horned Demon in the blast. The explosion devastated Area B, and although the group believed An Ke had escaped, her weakened voice reached Ye Lin through the communication Wristwatch.
Ye Lin and the others learned that the Two-Horned Demon had not awarded them kill points, and they feared it had survived the Fuel-Air Explosive Bomb. As Base 053 began collapsing, they armed themselves with portable missiles and searched for the wounded monster, while An Ke remained badly injured and unable to track it.
After the thermobaric blast, Ye Lin's team searched the wreckage for the wounded Two-Horned Demon but found no trace of it. Ye Lin realized it had teleported to Zone B to devour the Echo Demon's corpse, and the team raced after it.
Ye Lin and the others searched Sector B for the wounded Two-Horned Demon, but found its corpse split open and realized it had been fusing with other corpses. They rushed to destroy the reassembled Echo Demon, but a supersonic shadow attacked Ye Lin from the ceiling.
Ye Lin, He Zheng, Huang Liang, and Lin Yu fought a fast, heavily armored monster that He Zheng recognized as the Two-Horned Demon. With Ye Lin badly injured and their attacks proving ineffective, He Zheng used Taunt and fired a rocket at the demon while trying to draw it away from the others.
Ye Lin, Huang Liang, An Ke, and their allies fought the badly wounded Two-Horned Demon after a rocket blast failed to kill it. Ye Lin devoured the Echo Demon's remains to gain Hell Echo and shattered the demon with a combined attack, earning the Soul Peace squad a higher rating and triggering penalties for rival factions.
As the collapsing base threatened to bury everyone, Ye Lin helped save He Zheng and then stayed behind to Devour the Two-Horned Demon and search for its greatsword. He also weighed whether to risk his escape to save Aroro, leaving his choice unresolved.
As Base 053 collapsed and a nuclear leak threatened, Aroro lay trapped beneath the Cooling Tower and believed he was about to die. Ye Lin arrived at the last moment, lifted the wreckage with psychokinesis, and rescued him.
Ye Lin escaped the collapsing base by using the Hell Sword to teleport out with the gravely injured Aroro, then joined the others in hiding. As An Ke asked about the sword, Ye Lin realized the Two-Horned Demon’s strength came from biotech enhancement.
Ye Lin examined the Hell Sword, a powerful Grade A weapon whose abilities explained the Two-Horned Demon’s speed, durability, and teleportation. The team marveled at the reward but grew uneasy that it might be too generous, especially since the examination was not over.
An Ke and Lin Yu explained why team battles brought enormous rewards, while Huang Liang questioned whether their deadly free-for-alls were fair. Ye Lin argued that team battles tested skills fighters rarely got to use and that the system protected teams that had performed well; he then revealed that the Two-Horned Demon’s abilities had exceeded expectations, though its strength seemed abnormal and his perfected one prototype appeared to have evolved.
