Background

Rita is the daughter of Lis Lothwiser, a former Valkyrie, and William, a Schicksal Knight who died during an Honkai outbreak. Lis concealed both her Valkyrie identity and the severity of her Stigmata-related injuries in an effort to keep Rita away from the dangers of Schicksal service. 807 809

As a child, Rita became fascinated with maid culture through a maid named Laguna. She adopted formal speech, meticulous work habits, and a habit of bowing long before becoming a professional maid. 803 804

During a Honkai disaster in Manchester, Ren Yu saved Rita and Lis. Rita later requested power to protect those dear to her; Ren Yu gave her an emblem and made her his exclusive maid. He then disappeared for eight years, while all other evidence of his existence seemingly vanished. Rita retained the emblems as proof that their meeting had been real. 783

By the time she met Ren Yu again, Rita had become a Schicksal Valkyrie. Although Ren Yu had no memory of their childhood encounter, Rita remained devoted to him and regarded their bond as irreplaceable. 783
