Background / History

Kiana trained at St. Freya Academy as a B-Rank Valkyrie. After damaging training-ground equipment and risking demotion to C-Rank and reassignment to logistics, she appealed to her aunt and principal, Theresa, for another chance. Theresa then assigned her to guide the newly hired Ren Yu to the teacher dormitory 2 3.

Her body is designated K423, leading her to believe she is a clone replacing an “original” Kiana. Otto later explains that Kiana and the body regarded as the original share one consciousness: Kiana’s original body first received the Void Herrscher Core, while K423 was created after the core was removed and Kiana’s consciousness was projected into it 757 761 762.

Kiana’s body also houses Sirin’s consciousness through the Herrscher Core. Their initial struggle for control becomes less hostile after Sirin repeatedly protects Kiana and Ren Yu intervenes to demand that Sirin stop suppressing her 239 372 377 380.

Her outwardly carefree behavior also conceals sharper judgment than others expect; she admits to pretending to be innocent around Mei and chooses to trust Ren Yu because of their shared experiences 332.

She is intensely attached to Mei, whom she considers a sister closer than family. Kiana notices Mei’s distress quickly, promises to confront anyone who harms her, and fears being abandoned by the person who has cared for her most 355 356 357.

While attempting to enter an Anti-Entropy base, Kiana lacks her Valkyrie armor and tries to establish her identity through a “Magical Girl Teriri” performance, causing agents to dismiss her as unstable 75 76. Her uncertainty about Ren Yu’s allegiances later leads her to ask directly whether he will become her enemy; his answer that he may help her in a crisis lifts her spirits 104 105.

Yae Village and Tenshuukaku

Kiana follows Yae Sakura toward Tenshuukaku despite the danger, intending to evacuate with Sakura if they cannot defeat the local yokai. She keeps up with Sakura in White Comet, is mistaken for Kallen, and narrowly avoids Hiyori Maru’s fire attack 190 191 193.

Sirin’s Emergence

In the Huangyue Kingdom, Kiana is recognized by military officers as the Second Prince and enters the Prime Minister’s mansion with Otherworlder bodyguards 596. Later, she and Fu Hua pull a rusty sword from a floating island, receive a message declaring them kings of the Schicksal Holy Kingdom, and are tasked with destroying underwater altars 636.
