Background

Qin Feng originally lived in a world where humans and Pokémon coexisted. He became Pikachu’s Trainer at ten, and the two remained together for six years before his transmigration. Although he caught, traded, and released other Pokémon, Pikachu stayed with him throughout that period 43.

After spending three years in a world without Pokémon or a system, he began accepting an ordinary future: studying at university and finding a job after graduation. He came from an ordinary family and initially saw little reason for his life to intersect with that of his wealthy classmate Jiang Xiaoyu 1 4.

Appearance

Qin Feng is handsome and 185 centimeters tall, but continues wearing inexpensive clothing even after becoming wealthy 4 14 27.

  • Appears in slippers and shorts when confronting Ye Chen; the narration gives him a slight advantage over Ye Chen in facial features 1.
  • Wears bargain clothes costing only a few dozen yuan, a habit Bai Xiyue associates with his frugality 27.
  • Wears Uniqlo during the Magic City shopping trip, contrasting with his companions’ expensive surroundings 33.

Personality

Before the system activates, Jiang Xiaoyu regards Qin Feng as well-behaved, studious, and unlikely to start disputes. Nevertheless, he intervenes when Ye Chen’s bodyguards prevent her from leaving, openly mocking someone whose wealth and connections intimidate other students 1.

His courage is tempered by pragmatism. After Pikachu’s debut achieves its publicity goal, he lets Ye Chen leave rather than pursuing an unnecessary physical confrontation. He similarly treats the National Security Bureau’s investigation as a possible opportunity to establish Pokémon’s legitimacy 3 8.

Qin Feng is commercially calculating and notably frugal. He encourages wealthy customers to keep drawing Pokémon and coordinates with Changpu and his friends to capitalize on Yao Jianpan’s pride. However, he also supplies relatives and friends with Pokémon essentials and spends heavily on gifts for his family and early supporters 20 25 31 33 34 35.

His confidence in battle contrasts with his uncertainty in romance. He fails to recognize Jiang Xiaoyu’s feelings until Bai Xiyue points them out, then becomes increasingly unsettled by her avoidance. By Pokémon Island, he directly confesses that he likes her 48 49 50.

Abilities & Skills

Pokémon Training and Battle Tactics

Qin Feng brings years of practical training experience from his previous world 43.

  • Long-established coordination: His trust and understanding with Pikachu come from six years together and countless battles 43.
  • Combination attacks: Against Butterfree, he directs Pikachu to evade powder, circle behind its opponent, strike with its tail, and follow with Thunderbolt 21.
  • Adapting to strong opponents: Defeats Ye Chen’s Magneton despite its magnetic restraint and Triangle Lightning. The narration attributes Pikachu’s exceptional strength to Qin Feng’s training 43.
  • Capture assistance: Weakens Jigglypuff for Jiang Xiaoyu and Vulpix for Wang Lin before directing their captures 8 25.
  • Controlled demonstrations: Avoids ordering Thunderbolt during the initial friendly match with Bai Xiyue because demonstrating Pokémon battles matters more than winning 18.

Pokémon Knowledge and Instruction

He teaches new Trainers how to understand, care for, and battle with their Pokémon 11 19.

  • Emphasizes mutual trust, wholehearted care, temperament, typing, and battle habits 19.
  • Explains how Jigglypuff’s Sing can incapacitate opponents rather than merely entertain people 19.
  • Uses Caterpie, Metapod, and Butterfree to explain evolution 19.
  • Teaches Qin Yao how to use a Poké Ball and build a bond with Charmander 20.
  • Knowledge limit: Before Match Battles launch, he does not know exactly how the system will implement evolution 19.

Father of Pokémon System

The system supplies Pokémon and infrastructure while setting attention, revenue, and expansion missions 1 17 46.

  • Provides an inventory, Pokémon information, and business statistics 1 2 8.
  • Unlocks stores, training facilities, battle environments, and instructional materials through missions 17.
  • Gives Qin Feng direct access to the Pokémon League interface and a world map for store expansion 47.
  • Supplies system-assigned staff, including Changpu, whose duties are restricted to Pokémon Home 5.
  • Unconfirmed interpretation: Qin Feng suspects that Pokémon draws assess customers’ character after Ye Chen repeatedly receives Pokémon he considers unattractive; this remains his suspicion rather than a confirmed system rule 15.

Marketing and Business Management

Qin Feng uses online attention to turn Pokémon from an unfamiliar novelty into a growing commercial and competitive activity 3 8 22.

  • Asks witnesses to record Pikachu’s debut, anticipating that uploaded videos will generate attention 2 3.
  • Produces short videos to promote Pokémon Home and later publishes battle footage to challenge the idea that Pokémon are merely cute pets 8 22.
  • Reaches fifteen million followers; his uploaded battle video receives more than eight million likes 25.
  • Negotiates with RM Group and secures a strategic partnership rather than relying solely on individual store sales 27 48.
  • Plans 200 additional stores across Huaxia’s second- and third-tier cities, then later notes that his available funds could support 1,000 stores 31 47.

Hoopa Confined Obtained through an unrestricted system draw 46. Its rings distort space-time and transport objects, humans, or Pokémon. Defeats Scyther in Qin Feng’s first Match Battle; transformation into Hoopa Unbound is described as a future possibility, not an achieved form 46 49.

  • Yao Jianpan — Bai Xiyue’s unwanted suitor. Insults Qin Feng as a poor shop assistant and becomes the target of an expensive drawing scheme 27 32 33.
  • Liu Chen’en — Biological researcher introduced by Bai Xiyue. Confirms that Pokémon are new species without viruses transmissible to humans; Qin Feng sees his institutional connections as valuable to Pokémon’s development 18.
  • Jingyi — Competitive rival whose winning streak Qin Feng ends. Seeks a rematch and hopes to encounter him on Pokémon Island 37 46 48.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Campus Debut and System Activation

Qin Feng interrupts Ye Chen’s fifteenth consecutive public confession after bodyguards block Jiang Xiaoyu’s departure. The confrontation activates his system, and he introduces Pikachu before a crowd encouraged to record the event. The resulting publicity becomes the foundation of Pokémon Home and his campaign to spread Pokémon culture 1 2 3 4.

Detention and Scientific Scrutiny

The National Security Bureau takes him from class and accuses him of unauthorized genetic modification. He rejects the allegation, pointing out that he is a finance student rather than a genetic researcher. Director Li later orders his release and an apology; Qin Feng initially attributes the reversal to Jiang Xiaoyu’s help 8 9 10.

Liu Chen’en subsequently reports that institutional testing identifies Pokémon as new species without human-transmissible viruses. Qin Feng stages a battle demonstration to show that their abilities extend beyond their appeal as pets 18.

Pokémon Home Expansion

Sales missions progressively reduce prices and unlock infrastructure. Qin Feng combines viral videos, battle demonstrations, overseas stores, and RM collaboration to expand the business 17 22 25 27.

Business Milestone Sales Revenue Trainers Stores Completed Battles
Early shop operation 8 150,000 2 1 —
Expansion underway 25 1,920,000,000 3,982 45 312

Defeating Ye Chen

When Jiang Xiaoyu attempts to take responsibility for confronting Ye Chen, Qin Feng insists on handling the battle himself. Pikachu defeats Magneton, and Qin Feng refuses a monetary settlement in place of the publicly announced penalty. Ye Chen ultimately kneels on the sports field to begin honoring the wager 43 44.

Pokémon League and Pokémon Island

After acquiring Hoopa, Qin Feng begins Match Battles and discovers their experience rewards. He enters the island event to strengthen both Pokémon and pursue system rewards 46 47 49.

By the event’s opening, he has ten consecutive Match Battle wins. On the island, he encounters Jiang Xiaoyu, pursues her when she tries to leave, and confesses his feelings. She rejects his explanation that Bai Xiyue is only a professional associate, citing what she believes she witnessed between them 50.
