Background / History
Foundation and Ancient Feuds
The Heaven Mending Pavilion had stood in the Great Wilderness since ancient times. Its Sacrificial Spirit guarded it throughout those long ages, becoming the central support on which the institution depended 134 135 142.
According to the legend Xia Youyu recounts, the First Pavilion Master struck down a destructive phoenix-blooded bird shortly after founding the sect. His sword light crossed thirty thousand li, cleaved the creature in two, and transformed its body into the Fallen Phoenix Mountain Range. Li Dao treats the account as an unverified story 51.
The Pavilion’s feud with the Tuoba Family began when the Divine Vine killed that family’s Sacrificial Spirit in ancient times 131.
Recruiting Li Dao
Xiong Fei instructed Xia Youyu to watch for Li Dao after his exploits drew the attention of major factions. Her delegation later encountered him fighting a Spirit Transformation Realm Red-Horned Rhino and witnessed strength that astonished even Elder Liu Yun 22 36.
Xia Youyu invited him to the Pavilion’s upcoming recruitment. Li Dao accepted partly because he needed protection from the Rain Clan and Demon Spirit Lake. Before formally joining, he invoked the Pavilion’s name to reject Martial King Manor’s recruitment offer, and Liu Yun protected him from the manor’s elders 38 46.
The return journey was interrupted by an ambush at Fallen Phoenix Valley. Rain Clan cultivators and Demon Spirit Lake’s Shadow Guards surrounded the delegation; several Pavilion disciples died during the fighting. Liu Yun killed Shadow One, while Xiong Fei transported the survivors back on his Treasure Gourd 51 60.
The Pavilion supplied Li Dao with a private courtyard and abundant medicinal resources. Wu Yuan formally acknowledged him as a disciple, compensated him for the ambush, and granted access to the Scripture Repository. Unable to punish the responsible factions under the circumstances, Wu Yuan advised him to conceal himself behind another identity 62 63.
Recruitment and the Hundred Broken Mountains
The Pavilion’s recruitment drew tens of thousands of candidates and numerous visiting powers. Shi Hao and Shi Qingfeng arrived during this gathering, while factions searched for Shi Hao and the Little Devil King. Disruption of the trials allowed hundreds of candidates to emerge early; the elders accepted them rather than provoke an uproar among their families 71 79 80.
Li Dao, operating as Li Zizai, subsequently led the Pavilion’s young cultivators into the Hundred Broken Mountains. There, Xiling Beast Mountain offered rewards for Pavilion disciples’ heads, and Little White Tiger used the captive Liu Ze to draw Li Dao into a confrontation. Li Dao and his companions fought the attackers, and Liu Ze was rescued 83 94 100 104.
On returning, Li Dao delivered several drops of Immortal Spring water requested by the Sacrificial Spirit. Wu Yuan rewarded him with access to treasure medicines and spirit plants, while the Divine Vine healed his injuries with its essence 127.
Decline and Destruction
The Divine Vine’s apparent recovery briefly gave the disciples hope, but it privately admitted that its interior had rotted beyond repair. The Pavilion’s leaders began returning visiting clan disciples home, secretly evacuating prodigies, and requesting aid from former disciples traveling in the Great Wilderness 134 135.
Over the following three months, hostile forces probed the Pavilion’s defenses. Some disciples refused to leave, and their solidarity strengthened despite the sect’s declining prestige. Shi Hao and fellow disciples repelled an incursion by the Li, Yuan, Kun, and Meng clans 136.
The crisis escalated when enemies destroyed three outposts and exterminated dozens of large tribes and hundreds of smaller tribes connected to the Pavilion. These massacres deprived it of potential allies before the final assault 137.
As supreme experts and surrounding forces attacked, Wu Yuan ordered elders and patriarchs to lead groups of disciples out. Enemy intervention destroyed the escape passages previously prepared by the Sacrificial Spirit. Li Dao nevertheless broke through the encirclement with surviving disciples and reunited with Xiong Fei 138 141.
The Divine Vine died, and the Pure Land was plundered: attackers extracted spiritual veins, dug up medicinal soil, and carried away palaces. Survivors separated to seek shelter, return home, or reach remaining strongholds. Hostile factions continued hunting them afterward 141 142.
Grounds and Facilities
The Pavilion’s grounds contained wooded valleys, winding mountain ranges, and spiritual energy dense enough to form lingering mist 62.

Recruitment and Training
- Annual outreach: The Pavilion sends representatives to distant tribes to identify genuine prodigies and escort them back, since many tribes cannot safely transport children across the Great Wilderness 71.
- Open recruitment: Tribes, families, and ancient lineages bring their younger members to compete. At the trial’s commencement, roughly eighty or ninety thousand people are divided into eight groups 38 73.
- Special admission: Shi Hao possesses a special admission slot and tells Shi Qingfeng to use its proof of admission to enter 71.
- Focused training: Xiao Tian expects collecting ten Heaven Mending Stones to earn him the Pavilion’s focused training 77.
- Genius Camp: An elite disciple group exists separately from ordinary disciples; Shi Hao clashes with several of its members after joining 81.
- Scripture access: Accepted disciples can study Treasure Arts in the Scripture Repository with authorization 63 68.
- Recruitment as diplomacy: With the Divine Vine weakening, the leaders use recruitment and the Ancient Sacred Academy to attract major powers and share the risks facing the sect 63.
Strength and Legacy
Divine Vine
- The Sacrificial Spirit is counted among the Great Wilderness’s most powerful beings, but age and internal decay leave it unable to continue protecting the Pavilion 134 135.
- Wu Yuan believes that an undiminished Divine Flame would have made the Rain Clan and Demon Spirit Lake insignificant threats 63.
- Its essence heals Li Dao’s injuries after the Hundred Broken Mountains expedition 127.
- Before the final battle, it promises to leave a Divine Seed that could protect a renewed Pavilion. The provided account does not establish who ultimately obtains that seed 137.
- Its final gift produces a spiritual-essence baptism over the battlefield, drawing both Pavilion members and hostile cultivators to receive it 141.
Inherited Arts and Defenses
- The Scripture Repository holds Bone Scriptures valuable enough for individual texts to serve as a small tribe’s ancestral legacy 68.
- Li Dao inherits a three-move Divine Ability from a long-neglected Bone Scripture. Rumor attributes its arrival from the Upper Realm to a Pavilion ancestor 69.
- Senior elders include Inscription Pattern Realm cultivators such as Liu Yun, who protects recruitment delegations and resists hostile experts 41 51.
- Formations protect medicinal resources and reinforce buildings, while primordial-bone arrays create spatial passages 63 81 127.
- These defenses have limits: ancient formations fail against the violent energy near the Divine Vine’s dwelling, and supreme experts destroy the prepared evacuation passages 134 138.
