Whether in Immortal Ancient, the Chaotic Ancient Era, or the age of Shrouding the Heavens, Faith Thought Power truly existed.
In every era, mortals and weak cultivators formed the most essential part of the universe's countless living beings. What their hearts yearned for and their minds reached toward was destined to gather into an immense force, a force so vast that it could forge unsurpassed powerhouses.
As the foremost emperor of Primordial Antiquity, the god of the Myriad Races, and a Five-Colored Phoenix whose equal could scarcely be found throughout history, the Undying Heavenly Emperor had once been the shared object of faith for billions of races across the universe. No being in the entire Primordial Era could match his mastery of Faith Thought Power.
A legend still circulated among the Myriad Races: the supreme Undying Heavenly Emperor had once studied the will of all living beings in depth, using incense divine power to forge an immensely powerful divine dao body. The Heavenly Emperor had inhabited that body and walked the universe as the god of the Myriad Races.
Later, after his understanding of the will of all living beings reached a certain limit, the Heavenly Emperor abandoned that body of faith power and let it develop naturally. Within the faith body, an immensely powerful primordial spirit was nurtured, one that patrolled the realms on his behalf.
That exceptionally unusual primordial spirit called himself the Undying Daoist. His body was invincible throughout the universe, and he claimed that as long as faith endured, he would never perish.
That was indeed the case. Thanks to his unique nature, the Undying Daoist had stubbornly survived from the early Primordial Antiquity until the present. His divine body was truly formidable: all Faith Thought Power directed toward the Heavenly Emperor throughout the universe gathered within him, rendering the Undying Daoist's body all but eternally indestructible.
Now, the Undying Daoist had sealed himself within immortal source and hidden in the Life Forbidden Zone known as the Reincarnation Sea. As an Ancient Supreme, he had long held sway in the depths of that forbidden zone.
These were the Heavenly Emperor's orders. He was to remain a chess piece planted within the Life Forbidden Zones, waiting until the situation in the universe underwent a great upheaval to become the spark that ignited chaos.
Yet today, an inexplicable tremor had startled the long-slumbering Undying Daoist awake. He clearly sensed a barely perceptible wavering in the Faith Thought Power within him, which had always been as vast and stable as an ocean.
The Heavenly Emperor might be about to live another lifetime.
But that slight change did not unsettle the Undying Daoist in the least. The Undying Heavenly Emperor possessed the body of an immortal phoenix, and his cultivation plumbed the mysteries of creation. He had long reached a level beyond the fathoming of living beings. Such a minor change proved nothing.
Today's circumstances, however, were clearly a little different.
Boom!
Just as the Undying Daoist prepared to return to his slumber, an incomparably vast fluctuation suddenly descended from beyond the heavens. It was the blood energy of the reigning emperor. Surging Dao laws crushed down, instantly blanketing the entire Reincarnation Sea.
"Reigning emperor, why have you invaded my Reincarnation Sea?"
The Undying Daoist heard a low Dao sound rise from nearby to confront the reigning emperor. It belonged to an ancient emperor who had joined the Reincarnation Sea hundreds of thousands of years ago, a man named Yun Gen.
"I have come for the Undying Daoist!"
Then came the reigning emperor's voice, brimming with majesty and oppressive force. Its thunderous rumble startled the Undying Daoist, who had intended merely to watch the spectacle. An inexplicable chill swept through his entire body.
The moment the reigning emperor finished speaking, the Undying Daoist felt an irresistible might lock onto him. It was the aura of the Extreme Dao, the immense power of the Heavenly Heart. There was nowhere to hide.
"The Undying Daoist?"
Upon hearing that name, the voice of the Supreme named Yun Gen seemed to waver slightly. But he soon fell silent again, withdrawing his Imperial Dao majesty to make it clear that he would not interfere.
Boom!
Without a moment's hesitation, the Undying Daoist detonated the immortal source sealing him and broke free from the depths of the Reincarnation Sea. Accompanied by the resplendent majesty of the Heavenly Dao looking down upon the mortal world, he faced the reigning emperor outside.
He was only a reigning emperor. With the immense power of the Heavenly Emperor's faith body, I have nothing to fear from any reigning emperor.
Yet when the Undying Daoist saw the two figures shrouded in boundless heavenly light outside, an icy sensation seeped deep into his bones.
Beside the reigning emperor stood a black-haired man with sharply defined features, utterly at ease. The majesty he radiated was no less than that of the supreme Undying Heavenly Emperor. Moreover, he held a Five-Colored Heavenly Blade.
The Undying Daoist knew that blade all too well!
"So you're the Undying Daoist?"
Following a unique connection between the Undying Heavenly Blade and the Faith Thought Power directed toward the Heavenly Emperor, Yuangeng identified the Undying Daoist at a glance. The man carried an extraordinarily dense aura of Faith Thought Power.
Yuangeng had never studied Faith Thought Power in depth, but he had encountered far too many cultivators of the sacrificial spirit great dao in his lifetime, as well as many "monks" of the Immortal Monk King's lineage. There was no chance he would mistake the aura of Faith Thought Power.
"I am."
The Undying Daoist stared fixedly at the Undying Heavenly Blade in Yuangeng's hand, anxiety stirring within him. He could not be certain what had happened to the Heavenly Emperor. He was merely a divine spirit born within a faith dao body. The Heavenly Emperor held absolute control over his life and death, yet he had no right whatsoever to share a mental connection with the Heavenly Emperor.
The Undying Daoist tried to establish contact with the blade's divine spirit. Someone had come seeking him with the Undying Heavenly Blade in hand, and he had no way to judge the situation. He could only stall Yuangeng and his companion while learning as much as possible about the current circumstances.
Unfortunately, the Five-Colored Heavenly Blade gave no response.
"A physical body in the Extreme Dao realm, but a comparatively weaker primordial spirit. He never underwent an emperor's tribulation or experienced that tempering. So this is what a faith dao body looks like."
Meanwhile, the Qilin Emperor invoked the Heavenly Heart and quickly discerned the Undying Daoist's true nature. The old Qilin had never encountered such a wondrous existence before.
"Only comparatively weaker. Countless trillions of believers have tempered his spirit for millions of years. He is in no way inferior to a true Extreme Dao Supreme. Even as you are now, you might not be able to reliably overpower him."
Yuangeng voiced a warning. His experiences in Immortal Ancient meant he never underestimated the strength of Faith Thought Power. After all, someone had successfully walked that path. The Immortal Monk King was a genuine pinnacle Immortal King, powerful enough to roam the heavens and traverse the Boundary Sea.
"He's that strong?"
At those words, the Qilin Emperor actually grew eager to try. Not long ago, the Undying Heavenly Emperor had gravely wounded him with a casual slash. Though the emperor was old, he still had some fire in him. He wanted to fight the Undying Daoist and test this divine spirit of faith.
Their casual attitude irritated the Undying Daoist. He repeatedly tried to stir the Five-Colored Heavenly Blade in Yuangeng's hand, but the blade remained silent, never offering the slightest response. His anxiety mounted, yet he maintained his composure and transmitted his voice to the two masters of the Imperial Dao:
"Does your search for me have something to do with the Heavenly Emperor?"
At those words, Yuangeng and the Qilin Emperor met the Undying Daoist's gaze at the same time, profound light gleaming in their eyes.
"Of course it has to do with that little phoenix."
Yuangeng raised his hand and stored the Five-Colored Heavenly Blade within his body. Naturally, he had heard the Undying Daoist calling to the blade's divine spirit. Unfortunately, he had already destroyed that spirit, so it could not answer.
He strode through the void, arriving before the Undying Daoist in a single step.
The space between his brows had turned pitch-black. Densely packed lunar essence runes danced there, condensing into a universe filled with boundless Dao resonance of death.
"Dust to dust, earth to earth. The Undying Heavenly Emperor is already gone. Go and join him."
Bury Ten Thousand Lifetimes of Reincarnation!
Before even a flicker of expression could cross the Undying Daoist's eyes, that pitch-black burial light struck between his brows. Bone-deep cold, darkness, and death froze his thoughts completely in an instant. His primordial spirit turned into flecks of light and dissipated into the void.
