Yuangeng explained to the Lunar Essence Human Emperor that the universe was entering an autumn of cultivation, with a harsher winter to follow, and that the Myriad Races’ retreat to Big Dipper could create an opening for the Human Race. After exploring Returning Cloud Mountains and discussing the changing era for centuries, they headed to the Lunar Essence Divine Church.

  • The Lunar Essence Human Emperor sensed that the laws and vital energy of the universe were declining as he and Yuangeng revisited places from his youth on Ziwei Ancient Star.
  • Yuangeng led the Human Emperor underground through Returning Cloud Mountains, where they found that its once-great river of divine source liquid had dwindled to a few lakes.
  • Yuangeng explained that the decline was part of a natural cycle: cultivation would grow harder in the Desolate Ancient Era, reach a true winter after Wushi, and later begin anew.
  • Yuangeng showed the Human Emperor that many races were migrating to Big Dipper and sealing themselves away, partly because of the coming decline and partly because they sought the Road to Immortality.
  • The Human Emperor recognized that the retreat of the Myriad Races could give the Human Race room to rise, and he and Yuangeng continued discussing the universe’s laws for two or three hundred years before heading to the Lunar Essence Divine Church.
