Several thunderbolts crashed down from the sky, their flashing light wiping out all the light elementals. As far as Rowan could see, everything was a blinding sea of white.
To spare Rowan from Metri's attack, Alodi activated the anchor first, preparing to teleport him somewhere safe.
But Ysera, the Dreamer, moved faster. In her dragon form, she breathed out a surging mass of life fire that swept toward Rowan, pulling him to her side through a briefly opened dream portal.
Seeing Rowan transported to safety, Alodi steadied himself and turned his full attention to his former student.
