Gripping the Demon Sword tightly, Mu Feng stirred the chakra within his body.

The blade vibrated with a hum!

As chakra flowed into it, a layer of red light spread over the black Demon Sword. It gleamed brilliantly and looked incredibly cool.

Mu Feng gave it a casual swing, sending a swish through the air. A trace of red light lingered in the blade's wake. Its keen edge radiated a chill, as though it could slice through space itself.

"This blade looks pretty sharp!"

Having noticed the Demon Sword's qualities, Mu Feng found a wooden board and swung the blade at it.

The white edge met no resistance against the wood. It cut through as easily as slicing across water, without even making a sound.

Mu Feng sliced through the board with effortless ease.

Clack!

The board split in two and fell to the ground.

Mu Feng examined the Demon Sword in his hand, but this alone was not enough to satisfy him. After all, it had cost him 3,000 blackening points.

Next, Mu Feng found some kunai and placed them on the ground, intending to test the Demon Sword's sharpness further.

Whoosh-

This time, Mu Feng swung it directly without infusing it with chakra.

But a look of shock soon appeared in Mu Feng's eyes. As the Demon Blade Muramasa struck the kunai, he barely felt any resistance.

The kunai were sliced straight through like tofu, leaving smooth, clean cuts. He examined the Demon Blade Muramasa's edge closely and found not a single mark. It remained perfectly smooth and intact.

"Isn't this ridiculously sharp?" Mu Feng exclaimed. "Even a blade made of diamond wouldn't be this sharp!"

At this point in his testing, Mu Feng was fairly satisfied with the blade's basic properties.

Soon, however, he began experimenting with other ways to use it.

According to the system's description, the blade had been modified by the system to make it highly compatible with chakra. As it happened, Mu Feng had now mastered the methods of transforming and controlling chakra of all Five Nature Transformations.

Next, Mu Feng tried coating the Demon Sword with Chakara of different natures.

As the chakra's nature changed, the Demon Blade Muramasa underwent obvious changes as well.

With fire-nature chakra, the Demon Sword turned crimson and radiated extraordinary heat, capable of burning everything to ashes with a single slash.

With earth-nature chakra, a layer of golden light enveloped the Demon Sword. It looked incredibly tough, capable of withstanding a fatal blow.

With lightning-nature chakra, flickering white light danced across the entire Demon Sword, and it could also inflict paralysis.

With wind-nature chakra, the Demon Sword gained an additional cutting effect, taking its sharpness to another level and even allowing it to slice through energy.

With water-nature chakra, however, the effect was less obvious.

After testing all five natures one by one, Mu Feng had no complaints left. The more he looked at the blade, the more he liked it.

Combined with the Swordsmanship Mu Feng had mastered, the Five Nature Transformations could greatly improve his close-combat abilities if he trained properly. Given the Demon Sword's sharpness, any strike that connected would surely cut all the way through.

Overall, Mu Feng was very satisfied with this Ninja Blade.

After testing it, Mu Feng strapped the blade to his waist. But because it was rather long, he had to keep a hand on its hilt.

That minor drawback did not bother Mu Feng in the slightest.

Early the next morning, someone knocked on Mu Feng's door.

"Hey, Kakashi told me you lived here!"

When Mu Feng opened the door, he saw a handsome blond man. It was Minato.

"How did it go? Did last night's mission go smoothly?"

Minato had the air of an older brother, concern showing in his eyes.

"Pretty well. It went smoothly! Come in and have a seat!" Mu Feng welcomed Minato inside.

After entering Mu Feng's home, Minato looked around. His brow furrowed slightly at the sight of its rather "humble" furnishings.

"I heard about the mission from the Anbu. You did well! I came over to give you this!"

Once seated, Minato Namikaze got straight to the point and took out a Scroll. Then he continued explaining.

"I have a mission that'll take me away, so I won't be in the village for a while. This contains the training method for the Flying Thunder God Technique. I've also added some of my own insights and experiences. You can read through it first! Once I've finished my mission, come ask me about anything you don't understand!"

"Oh, right. Do you still have the Space-Time Kunai I left with you?"

Mu Feng nodded. He had been planning to seek out Minato Namikaze himself, but Minato had come over first.

Perks delivered right to my door. Not bad at all.

Mu Feng's opinion of Minato Namikaze improved considerably.

"I still have it!"

"Good. The most crucial part of the Flying Thunder God Technique is the mark. That Space-Time Kunai you have carries my mark, so take a close look at it! Once you can inscribe your own space-time mark, you won't be far from mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique!" Minato Namikaze said.

"All right, that's mainly what I came here for today. My teammates are still waiting for me, so I won't stay any longer!"

With that, Minato Namikaze said he had to leave.

After seeing Minato Namikaze off, Mu Feng returned to his room and began studying the Flying Thunder God Scroll he had been given.

He had to admit that the Flying Thunder God Technique was very complex-at least far more complex than ninjutsu like the Water Dragon Bullet he had learned before.

Learning the Flying Thunder God Technique required some foundational knowledge, such as space-time marking and chakra natures.

Fortunately, the Scroll explained its contents in considerable detail and contained plenty of annotations from Minato Namikaze. With those notes, Mu Feng could understand it.

"Looks like this is going to be a major project. I probably won't be able to use it during the Chunin Ninja Exams! And Flying Thunder God consumes quite a bit of chakra, too."

After studying it for a while, Mu Feng finally reached that conclusion.

He had originally been quite satisfied with his chakra reserves, but now he suddenly felt they were a little inadequate.

Just then...

[Ding! Your chakra has detected your disdain and is undergoing rage blackening...]

The system notification suddenly sounded without warning. Slightly surprised, Mu Feng opened the Status Panel. Sure enough, the words "rage blackening" now appeared beside his chakra.

"I'll leave it at that! Having a system is great. I don't have to do anything, and my chakra improves all by itself!"

Mu Feng smiled faintly as an image formed in his mind.

A little figure with the character for "cha" stuck to its head was working hard at its training. Even as it exercised, it kept glancing at a picture labeled "Chakraton" beside it to keep itself motivated.

For some reason, Mu Feng found that image hilarious.

With the Flying Thunder God Scroll and the Ninja Blade he had redeemed, Mu Feng now had new training goals. He began drawing up his training plan.

By late morning, Mu Feng had roughly mapped out his training plan for the days ahead.

Just then...

"Mu Feng!"

"Mu Feng, are you home?"

Someone called out from outside.
