Over the following ten months, he raised fourteen more beasts, killed seven for materials, and sold the resulting artifacts. This brought his available funds above 4,200 spirit stones, allowing him to pursue treasures before Han Li could obtain them 7.

Forbidden Land Trial and Foundation Establishment

Under the name Wang Yu, Lin He purchased four treasures from the Myriad Treasures Pavilion for 4,000 spirit stones. His subsequent gains included Senior Brother Lu’s Foundation Establishment Pill and artifacts, creating a secret shared with Chen Qiaoqian’s family: exposing the pill’s origin could connect Lin He to Lu’s disappearance 9 11 12.

During the Forbidden Land Trial, he rescued Senior Sister Chang, fought Treasure Girl, and accumulated beast materials and captured artifacts. After reaching Foundation Establishment, Lin He used his foreknowledge to locate the Spirit Eye Spring and build his cave abode. He also gave Chen Qiaoqian a Foundation Establishment Pill for her brother and intervened to stop Tan Ying from mistreating Senior Sister Chang 26.

Xin Ruoyin and the Change of Cultivation Art

Lin He rescued Xin Ruoyin and Xiao Mei from the Liu family. When Xin Ruoyin’s dragon chant body endangered her life, his yang-aligned spiritual power worsened her condition; he instead supplied millennium Cold Star Grass for a remedy 35 36.

Xin Ruoyin subsequently taught him formation fundamentals, gave him a simplified Five Elements Reversal Formation, and promised to improve it. His battles with Xu Yan and the Xu family yielded the Jadefire Blade, Concealment Veil, Golden Rain Sword, and other valuable items 35 38 40 42 45.

He then switched to the Star Refining Golden Origin Art. To support his cultivation, he raised ten beasts to level five, trapped them when they escaped his control, and killed them for demon cores and materials 45.

Black Fiend Cult and the Chaotic Star Sea

Lin He destroyed the Black Fiend Cult and obtained Lan Chou as an external incarnation, along with the Simplified Profound Yin Scripture and several treasures. He later used an ancient teleportation array to reach the Chaotic Star Sea, where he began dealings with Ma Shangfeng and the Miaoyin Sect 50 52 53 58.

On Lesser Ring Island, he captured Gold Devouring Beetles using insect eggs as bait, Blood Jade Spiders, and the Green Ruyi. After returning to Heavenly South, he obtained the first four layers of the Great Evolution Art and a substantial puppet force 58 63.

Yan Family Castle and the Golden Drum Plains

At Yan Family Castle, Lin He defeated Wang Chan, severed his arm, and destroyed his defenses. He also freed Dong Xuan’er and retained Tian Buque’s treasures and Copper Armored Zombie after Tian Buque escaped 70 72.

On the Golden Drum Plains, Lin He killed more than three hundred Foundation Establishment cultivators and used their essence souls to prepare Soul-Burning Pearls. His demonstrated Core Formation combat strength earned him a place in the Seven Sects’ senior meetings despite his lower cultivation realm 81 82 88 89 90.

Fighting alongside Nangong Wan, he used Soul-Burning Pearls, Lan Chou, and puppets to kill Core Formation opponents and help capture Jian Li. Ancestor Linghu rewarded his contribution by allowing him to retain the treasures borrowed for the battle 93 95 97.

Golden Origin’s Legacy and Green Spirit Island

He settled with Nangong Wan and their companions on Green Spirit Island, whose underground vein contained high-grade spirit ore. After thirty years of preparation, he formed his core and shifted his beast strategy away from sheer numbers toward stronger individual allies 125 127.

Miaoyin Sect Protection and Nascent Soul Formation

Lin He accepted Yuan Yao and Yanli into his protection, strengthened his ties with the Miaoyin Sect, and developed Heavenly One Pavilion’s protective arrangement with it. He studied artifact refining under Nangong Wan and completed his life-bound Golden Spirit Celestial Star Needles 131 142 143 144.

During treasure hunting in the Heavenly Passage Fog Sea, he fought Extreme Yin’s allies, killed Sect Master Sun and Wu Chou, and seized additional Fiend Core Clones and Heavenly Capital Demon Corpses. Qing Yi intervened against Extreme Yin, then repeatedly sought to make Lin He his disciple; Lin He declined but later benefited from his guidance 147 152 153 162 169.

After forming his Nascent Soul, Lin He arranged to repair the teleportation array on Strange Abyss Island and relocate Heavenly One Pavilion and Miaoyin Sect forces there. He subsequently entered the Void Sky Hall, gathered ghosts with his Soul-Gathering Banner, and proceeded toward the Ice-Fire Path 169 174 175 177.

Personality

Lin He is calculating, cautious, and concerned with concealing his advantages. He switches to an ordinary leaf-shaped flying artifact before approaching Yellow Maple Valley, acts reluctant when spending spirit stones to avoid revealing his wealth, and prepares for suspected pursuit before leaving a market. Despite his combat resources, he dislikes meaningless fights 5 7 8.

His pragmatism can be ruthless. He kills a beast he has just nurtured without visible guilt when he needs starting capital, treats hostile cultivators’ possessions as resources, and explicitly distinguishes personal friendship from negotiations over benefits. He also demands that Yuan Yao and Yanli honor their promises before accepting them 2 21 106 131.

He nevertheless repays kindness and protects those close to him. He gives Chen Qiaoqian’s brother a valuable pill, spends millennium Cold Star Grass to save Xin Ruoyin, and is genuinely willing to help Hongfu after her battlefield support—provided the risk to his life remains acceptable. He reassures Chen Qiaoqian that their relationship was never a means of exploiting her family 26 36 81 98.
