In the city of Daelaam, Shen Jun led He Xi on a leisurely tour. After all, He Xi was the Heavenly Based King, and though her title had been reduced to Holy Right Wing, her status within the Angel Civilization remained extremely high. No one other than Shen Jun truly had the qualifications to act as her guide.
Of course, this was because figures like Tassadar had yet to make their mark across the Known Universe. Shen Jun believed that before long, the situation would be completely overturned.
Tassadar and Alarak hung back, maintaining a safe distance. If He Xi made a move, they could counterattack immediately.
"They possess a high level of combat discipline."
He Xi praised inwardly.
In her nearly ten-thousand-year lifespan, He Xi had experienced countless brutal wars, especially the Battle of the Raging Sea four thousand years ago. Her combat experience was more than sufficient, and her grasp of positioning went without saying.
She paid no mind to the vigilance of the two Protoss. At this moment, He Xi's entire focus was on the magnificent Protoss architecture. The golden-toned Protoss buildings exuded nothing but resplendent grandeur.
Thousands upon thousands of Protoss moved through the city. He Xi noticed that every single Protoss wore Energy Heavy Armor, which meant that such armor had entered mass production among them.
Possessing such a production line indicated that the Protoss Civilization was at least an established Aerospace Civilization.
Every so often, a Phoenix Fighter would lift off from the Stargate. He Xi couldn't discern the purpose of the dense energy mesh covering the Phoenix's hull, but the flow of a peculiar energy within it told her this fighter was no ordinary craft.
It wasn't just the Phoenix. Occasionally, a Void Ray would emerge as well. The design of these capital ships, so different from anything else in this universe, left a deep impression on He Xi.
Dragoons and Immortals produced by the Robotics Facility patrolled Daelaam day and night, guarding against external threats.
A powerful, intelligent civilization was unveiling itself before He Xi. There was too much technology here she couldn't understand. For instance, why didn't any of the large buildings have doors?
Even if the Protoss possessed Micro Wormhole Transportation technology, this still seemed wasteful.
She didn't know that the Protoss Warp Network relied on a Psionic Matrix established by Khaydarin Crystal Towers. Within the coverage of the Psionic Matrix, arbitrary warping consumed no energy.
Only ultra-long-range, large-scale warping across star systems required establishing a Time-Space Navigation Route through a Warp Gate, which consumed significant energy.
In the field of spatial technology, the Protoss were far ahead of all civilizations in the Super God Universe. While wormhole technology was convenient, with wormholes scattered throughout the universe and the Great Wormhole Bridge allowing easy passage once built, it had major limitations. Simply stabilizing the space around a wormhole would prevent it from opening—how could you transport anything then?
Spatial stasis fields were practically obsolete technology for the Protoss; temporal stasis fields weren't even a concern.
Naturally, buildings containing core Protoss secrets—such as the Robotics Bay, the Fleet Beacon, and the Templar Archives—were off-limits to He Xi. But the remaining structures—the Protoss Medical Center, the Nexus, the Crystal Towers, the Warp Gates—were more than enough to broaden her horizons.
After a day of sightseeing, as dusk fell, Shen Jun invited He Xi to the meeting room of the Twilight Council.
"How was the tour, Holy Left-Wing Guardian?"
"Astonishing. But from what I've seen, it doesn't seem enough to guarantee victory against the Trigonians?"
He Xi smiled charmingly, her already stunning beauty blooming. For a moment, even Shen Jun across from her was stunned.
The flash of admiration in his eyes vanished quickly. Shen Jun didn't rise to her bait, replying with confidence, "You should know that what you've seen is just the tip of the iceberg for the Protoss. I don't want to engage in pointless arguments with you here. In three months, the results will speak for themselves."
"Very well. In that case, I won't linger here any longer."
He Xi stood to leave. The Protoss didn't seem like a closed-off civilization, yet they were unheard of in the Known Universe. A civilization with such advanced technology couldn't possibly have refrained from expanding into outer space.
He Xi was a scientist. She couldn't help but be curious about such a mysterious civilization. But being in the heart of a faction whose allegiance was unknown—friend or foe—carried far too much risk.
Moreover, she had tried to contact Keisha earlier, only to find her dark signal completely blocked. How could that not alarm her?
"Is that so... Very well. I won't see you out."
Shen Jun waved a hand.
He knew exactly why He Xi was so eager to leave—because he had arranged it.
"Kerasul, how much longer until the Psionic Matrix covers all of Aiur? I don't want anyone else entering Aiur's atmosphere without our knowledge again."
"Rest assured, Hierarch. The construction of the Crystal Towers is proceeding quickly. I guarantee the Psionic Matrix will be fully deployed before the Trigonians arrive."
Ending the communication, Shen Jun headed to his Meditation Room to continue cultivating his psionic energy.
Meanwhile, He Xi, upon stepping out of the Twilight Council, unfurled her Wings of Time and Space and flew away from Aiur.
The moment she exited Aiur's atmosphere, her communication was restored. At the same time, two different voices rang out in her ears, one of them particularly loud.
"He Xi, your communication suddenly cut off. I trust your strength—you wouldn't die so easily. Report to me immediately once communication is restored!"
"He Xi, if you're still alive, answer me now!"
The sudden barrage of messages nearly startled He Xi into falling from the edge of Aiur's atmosphere.
The first voice was calm and wise, its tone filled with supreme authority and dignity. It was the message of the Angel Queen, Keisha.
The other voice was far more erratic, loud enough to nearly deafen He Xi, but its concern for her was undeniable. The owner of this message was none other than the Heavenly Revelation King, one of the Three Kings alongside He Xi, who later served as the Holy Left-Wing Guardian—Liang Bing.
She was also Keisha's younger sister.
However, several hundred years ago, Kiran of the God River Civilization had arrived in Angel City to establish diplomatic relations with the Angels, founding the Super God Academy.
For some inexplicable reason, Liang Bing had resigned from her position as Holy Left Wing to become an instructor at the Super God Academy, often hanging around a young boy named Cal.
Thus, the position of Holy Left Wing was succeeded by a powerful female Angel who had followed Keisha in her rebellion long ago.
"My Queen, following the decrypted coordinates of the Trigonians, I arrived on a planet called Aiur. There, I found a very mysterious and powerful civilization..."
He Xi recounted everything she had seen and heard.
"...What do you think, He Xi?"
"I believe we should try to win them over."
"Alright, I'm leaving everything over there entirely in your hands. Whether you can pull them over or not doesn't matter—keeping yourself safe is the top priority."
"Don't worry, Tomboy."
Three months passed in the blink of an eye, and Variegated Blue's fifty-thousand-strong army had already neared the star system where Aiur was located.
The Protoss had developed at full speed over the past six months, not only covering the entire planet of Aiur with a Psionic Matrix but also establishing a fledgling fleet that had already deployed beyond the star system!
Two hundred scouts, five thousand Phoenix Fighters, one thousand five hundred Void Rays, and five hundred Arbiters!
They had even built ten carriers!
