Arc 11Badges, Legends, and Rivalries

Floria traveled across Galar with her friends, won several Gym battles, and helped uncover the truth behind the Hero legend and Bede’s manipulation. The stretch left her in a race against time in her Gym battle with Opal, as Dynamax ended and Inteleon faced Alcremie’s poisoned cream.

  • Floria earned the Grass Badge, helped defend Aoi’s nursery from Pokémon hunters, and set off for Bow Town with Yuuri and their friends.
  • Floria defeated Nessa for the Water Badge, recovered from a cold, and later beat Kabu for the Fire Badge after helping stop a blizzard caused by a battle between Dynamaxed Volcarona and Frosmoth.
  • Floria and Yuuri reached Hammerlocke, where Sonia showed them tapestries of Galar’s heroes, and Floria cautioned that the images alone could not settle whether one or two heroes had faced the Black Knight.
  • Floria defeated Onion to earn the Ghost Badge, while Yuuri’s Feebas evolved into Milotic and won his own battle against Onion.
  • Bede attacked the ruins under the influence of Kushen and Country, but Savory drove them away, and Bede and Savory reconciled as the ruins revealed statues tied to the Hero legend.
  • Floria encouraged Bede to pursue training with Opal and helped Hop trust his own battling style, while her Eevee evolved into Little Black during a fight with hostile Sinistea and Polteageist.
  • Floria defeated Bede in Opal’s Gym mission, and Hop later beat Bede in their rematch after Wooloo evolved.
  • Floria battled Opal for the Fairy Badge as Alcremie defeated several of her Pokémon, and Jimeron evolved into Inteleon during Dynamax, and the final exchange began with Inteleon trying to overcome Alcremie’s cream before time ran out.
Chapters 251–275 Vol. 3 Read

Ch. 251A universal theory

Floria defeated Milo and earned the Grass Badge, then joined Hop, Marnie, and Yuuri on the road to Bow Town. After a herd of Mudsdale chased them, the group helped at a Pokémon day care, where Floria and Yuuri discovered two mysterious Eggs.

  • Mason evolved into Jimelon, who used the rain to vanish and defeat Milo's Watomoth after Ralts's Synchronize passed paralysis to it.
  • Floria earned the Grass Badge, and Yuuri also defeated Milo and received his Badge.
  • Milo gave Floria and Yuuri a Magical Leaf move machine, and the group chose to travel together toward Bow Town after resting.
  • A herd of Mudsdale charged at Floria, Hop, Marnie, and Yuuri, who helped calm them and met the day-care caretakers Sumire, Himari, and Aoi.
  • The group helped Aoi groom Mudsdale and repair the grounds, while Floria and Yuuri found two unusual, unidentified Pokémon Eggs in the storeroom.
  • After finishing the day-care work, Aoi said she wanted to battle Floria, and the group went to report back to Himari.

Ch. 252Shaking off fatigue

After Floria and her companions helped Aoi's family defeat Pokémon hunters at the nursery, Floria and Yuuri accepted newly hatched Eevee and Elekid as friends and continued to Bow Town. They arrived at Bau Stadium to register for the Gym Challenge, where growing crowds recognized the group.

  • Himari invited Floria, Yuuri, Marnie, and Hop to bathe together, and the group relaxed before sharing dinner and a sleepover at Aoi's nursery.
  • A nocturnal Pokémon warned Floria about suspicious lights and fleeing Bird Pokémon, so Floria woke Hop and rushed downstairs to protect Sumire and Mary from Pokémon hunters.
  • Floria and her companions fought the hunters, and Ralts evolved into Kirlia while protecting everyone; Junsha arrived after Aoi reported the attack.
  • A hunter released a rampaging Tyranitar, which damaged the warehouse and sent two eggs flying; Floria and Yuuri caught the eggs before Cucumber's Heat-powered Solar Beam subdued Tyranitar.
  • Two days later, Floria and Yuuri accepted Eevee and Elekid, then set out with their companions for Bow Town.
  • The group reached Bau Stadium, where spectators recognized Hop, Yuuri, Marnie, and Floria and praised their prospects in the Gym Challenge.

Ch. 253A liar?

Floria prepared for her Bau Stadium challenge by teaching her friends to fish, then survived the Gym mission and began her battle with Nessa. After Alcremie defeated Nessa’s Goldeen, the Gym battle continued.

  • Floria showed Hop, Marnie, and Yuuri how to fish, but Yuuri’s Magikarp struck her and knocked her into the sea; Nessa rescued her.
  • At dinner, Nessa praised the challengers and discussed Bede, while Floria watched his battle and reflected on her resolve to become strong enough to stand beside Hikari.
  • Floria completed Bau Stadium’s water-and-switch maze despite Eevee nearly knocking her off and Milcery activating a waterfall prank.
  • Floria began her Gym battle against Nessa and used Alcremie’s Sweet Kiss and Round to overcome Goldeen’s speed and Whirlpool.
  • Alcremie defeated Goldeen, and Nessa sent out her second Pokémon.

Ch. 254One of My Ideals

Floria defeated Nessa at Bau Stadium, earned the Water Badge, and later collapsed from a cold brought on by exhaustion and repeated exposure to rain. As Yuri stayed behind to care for her while Hop and Mary continued toward Kabu, Yuri reflected on his own preparation and began to see Floria’s strategic skill as an ideal to pursue.

  • Floria used Jimeron’s water mines to defeat Nessa’s Zosukamasu, then Kirlia defeated Dynamaxed Drednaw and won Floria the Gym battle and Water Badge.
  • After meeting Chairman Rose outside the stadium, Floria collapsed, and her friends took her to a Pokémon Center, where she was diagnosed with a cold.
  • Floria urged Hop and Mary to continue preparing for Kabu, so Yuri offered to stay with her while they went ahead.
  • Yuri cared for Floria as she rested, then went fishing at Boudon Harbor and worried about finding a Water-type Pokémon and facing Kabu.
  • Yuri considered Floria’s ability to overcome disadvantages and decided her battling style had become an ideal for him.

Ch. 255Miss Cynthia's Words

Floria recovered from a fever and joined Yuuri and Savory on a trip through the Galar Second Mine, where Savory’s attempt to slip past someone led the group into a series of wild Pokémon attacks. Meanwhile, Jun, Hikari, and Cynthia began an expedition to battle Regirock in Hoenn, and a challenger named Shō continued his journey through Sinnoh.

  • Floria became inspired by Furia’s battles and set a goal to grow stronger, then encountered a Feebas on the beach.
  • Jun and Hikari accompanied Cynthia into the Desert Ruins, where Lucario opened a hidden passage and they began an exploratory battle with Regirock.
  • Shō defeated Hyōta’s Cranidos and said he had come to Sinnoh to challenge Champion Koki.
  • After recovering from her fever, Floria accepted Savory’s request to accompany him through the Galar Second Mine, and Yuuri showed her his new Feebas.
  • Floria, Yuuri, and Savory battled wild Pokémon in the mine, then fled after Savory triggered a Galarian Stunfisk, angered a group of turtles, and struck a Zweilous.

Ch. 256A long battle lasting forty minutes

Floria reunited with Yuuri and Savory after battling wild Pokémon and helping Bede defeat Team Yell, then reached Motostoke with Kabu’s help. After completing the Gym mission and preparing to challenge Kabu, Floria recognized him beside her in the challengers’ entrance.

  • Floria treated Savory’s injured ankle while she and Savory realized they had been separated from Yuuri and the others.
  • Floria lured wild Pokémon into a narrow passage and fought them for forty minutes until they retreated, then set off to find Yuuri.
  • Floria and Bede joined forces against Team Yell, defeated them, and Bede thanked Floria before they parted on friendlier terms.
  • Eevee tracked Yuuri’s scent using a blue Sea Sparrow and led Floria to Yuuri, Savory, and Kabu; Kirlia and Jungler carried Savory through the mine with Psychic power.
  • Kabu guided the group to Motostoke and invited Floria and Yuuri to challenge him after they rested; the following day, Floria entered the Gym’s challengers’ corridor and recognized Kabu beside her.

Ch. 257The contestants eliminated in the knockout rounds

Floria battled Kabu at Motostoke Stadium, and her Pokémon secured a victory after Kirlia and Ninetales knocked each other out, Eevee wore down Kabu’s second Pokémon, and Jimeron finished the match. After receiving the Fire Badge and healing her team, Floria returned to the stands to watch Yuuri battle Kabu.

  • Floria and Kabu began their Gym battle with Kirlia and Ninetales, whose Drought and fiery attacks made the opening match intense.
  • Kirlia and Ninetales both became unable to battle after Kirlia used Magical Leaf and close-range attacks to fight through Ninetales’s flames.
  • Eevee used copied moves and increasing speed to challenge Kabu’s second Pokémon, but a burn and a powerful attack left Eevee badly hurt.
  • Eevee used Baton Pass to transfer its accumulated speed to Jimeron, who defeated Kabu’s second Pokémon before Dynamaxing to defeat Gigantamax Maruyakude.
  • Kabu awarded Floria the Fire Badge, and she took Eevee and her other Pokémon to the Pokémon Center to recover.
  • Floria returned to the stadium and watched Yuuri’s battle against Kabu reach its final exchange, as Rabifoot attacked Maruyakude’s Circular Curtain with burning stones.

Ch. 258The prodigy

After Yuuri defeated Kabu, Floria celebrated with Yuuri and Savory, learned about Savory’s family pressures, and began the journey toward Turffield through the Wild Area. A prolonged blizzard trapped them at a Pokémon nursery, where Floria and the others volunteered to help fetch coal, meeting the Digging Brothers and the prodigious Gym Challenger Saitou before reaching the mine.

  • Yuuri defeated Kabu’s Centiskorch, and Floria explained to Savory how trust, experience, and her desire to catch up with someone shaped her unconventional battling strategies.
  • Kabu, Milo, and Nessa treated Floria, Yuuri, and Savory to dinner, and Kabu told Floria that Savory came from a family of Psychic-type Gym Leaders and might be struggling under pressure.
  • Floria, Yuuri, and Savory left Motostoke and traveled through the Wild Area, where Savory explained that the harsher northern regions tested Gym Challengers with stronger wild Pokémon.
  • A severe blizzard stranded Floria and other travelers at a Pokémon nursery, and the owner asked for help retrieving coal because the facility’s heating fuel was running low.
  • Floria, Yuuri, Savory, the Digging Brothers, and Gym Challenger Saitou volunteered to gather coal, and Saitou introduced herself as a Fighting-type prodigy.
  • The group reached the nearby mine through the blizzard and prepared to begin hauling coal.

Ch. 259The Cave and the Blizzard

Floria and her companions fought wild Pokémon in a cave, then realized the Pokémon were protecting their young while their parents searched for food in a blizzard. After treating the injured Pokémon and returning to the storage room, Floria proposed that an Ice-type Pokémon had deliberately caused the storm and began using Yuuri’s Rotom Phone to investigate.

  • Floria sent Bede and the others to escort the group and fuel to the safe house while she, Yuuri, and Saito held back the wild Pokémon.
  • Floria spotted a weakened Cherubi among the frightened Pokémon, inferred that the attackers were children whose parents had gone out for supplies, and ran to heal Cherubi with Kirlia.
  • Yuuri and Saito found frostbitten Pokémon near the cave entrance, brought them back, and helped Floria treat them before the group shared food with the cave’s Pokémon.
  • Golett apologized for injuring Floria, and the group left the cave after the Pokémon gathered for a meal and farewell.
  • Floria returned safely to the storage room, told Savory and the others that an Ice-type Pokémon had deliberately caused the blizzard, and borrowed Yuuri’s Rotom Phone to look for evidence.

Ch. 260Blowing Away the Culprit

Floria and her companions traced the Wild Area blizzard to a Dynamax Cave, where Frosmoth were fighting a powerful Volcarona that had invaded their home. As the battle turned against them, Yuuri and Savory’s Pokémon evolved and gained new abilities, and Floria Dynamaxed Jimeron to counterattack.

  • Floria heard a cry outside, found an injured Snom beneath a tree, and rescued it; the next day, Snom’s behavior and the Rotom Pokédex led the group to suspect Frosmoth was causing the blizzard.
  • Snom guided Floria, Yuuri, Saitou, and Savory through the storm to a Dynamax Cave, where they discovered Frosmoth were fighting a Dynamaxed Volcarona and learned that the battle had driven the blizzard outside.
  • Floria and her companions joined forces with the Frosmoth to protect Snom’s family, but Volcarona’s attacks overwhelmed their defenses and badly injured several Pokémon.
  • Yuuri and Savory pushed past their doubts as Avery and Yadon evolved, giving the group new support abilities and restoring their injured Pokémon.
  • Savory’s evolved Yadon used Quick Draw to interrupt Volcarona’s attack, and Floria Dynamaxed Jimeron to begin the counterattack.

Ch. 261Nursing Island

Furia and the group defeated the Dynamax Volcarona with Jimeron’s Death Stream, then Kabu took responsibility for the exhausted Pokémon. After leaving the shelter, Furia welcomed Snom as a new companion and continued toward Hammerlocke, where the steep road left Yuuri struggling.

  • Furia’s Pokémon battled Volcarona through rain and repeated attacks, but Volcarona removed its paralysis and gained speed and power with Quiver Dance.
  • After the Golden Rope’s protection ended, Volcarona’s Hurricane threatened the group, but Feebas shielded them and returned the attack with Mirror Coat.
  • Jimeron struck Volcarona with Death Stream, ending the battle, and Kabu arrived to care for the weakened Volcarona and explain that he had come to investigate the reported blizzard.
  • Two days later, Furia and the others left the shelter, thanked the rescuers, and set out toward Hammerlocke; Snom chose to join Furia after its family gave permission.
  • Several days into the journey, Yuuri struggled on the steep route, so Furia carried him piggyback while Kirlia used psychic power and Life Dew to ease the strain.

Ch. 262Pokémon in Sinnoh Mythology

Floria and Yuuri reached Hammerlocke, where Sonia enlisted Floria’s help investigating Galar’s heroic legend and Raihan showed them the vault’s tapestries. The group later enjoyed a Battle Café victory, and Floria recognized the significance of a rainbow-colored scale on Yuuri’s Feebas while keeping its secret.

  • Floria carried the tired Yuuri into Hammerlocke, where Sonia reunited with them and asked Floria to help research Galar’s legends.
  • Sonia led Floria and Yuuri to Hammerlocke’s vault, where Raihan showed them four tapestries depicting the legend of Galar’s heroes.
  • Floria compared Galar’s conflicting legends with Sinnoh Mythology and told Sonia that the tapestries alone could not establish whether one or two heroes stopped the Black Knight.
  • Sonia told Floria that Hop had fallen into a slump, and Floria decided to leave him in Marnie’s care for now while preparing for the journey ahead.
  • Floria and Yuuri won a double battle at Hammerlocke’s Battle Café and celebrated with their friends over dessert.
  • Yuuri showed Floria Feebas’s unusual rainbow-colored scale, and Floria assured him Feebas was healthy while asking him to keep feeding it blue, bitter Sea Sparrows.

Ch. 263A battle at fever pitch

After reaching Stow-on-Side, the group watched Hop defeat Onion and learned that Saitou and Onion were cousins whose bond had shaped their Gym paths. The chapter ended with Yuuri browsing a suspicious market stall and receiving a mysterious tea pot as a gift.

  • An old man on a solitary island told Kabu he had found no clear reason for Volcarona leaving, then decided it might be time for them to act.
  • The group crossed Route 6, where Saitou explained that Cortondo made the already sunny route unusually hot, and Savory accidentally triggered a Sandaconda's sandstorm.
  • At Stow-on-Side Stadium, Yuuri and the narrator watched Hop defeat Onion and learned that the victory came on Hop's fifth attempt.
  • Saitou revealed that Onion was her cousin and explained that an accident had led him to see and befriend Ghost-type Pokémon, inspiring him to become a Ghost-type Gym Leader.
  • The group dined with Onion and Saitou, and Saitou said she hoped to reach the top of the Gym Challenge and stand alongside Onion.
  • The next day, Yuuri visited Yokomachi Horidashi Market, told the shopkeeper his Gym challenge was in two days, and received a mysterious pot said to make tea taste better.

Ch. 264Fighting side by side

Floria completed Stow-on-Side Stadium’s Gym Mission, where Alcremie evolved after spinning her teacup, and reunited with Sonia, who shared a lead on ruins linked to the Hero legend. With Floria, Yuuri, and Savory set to battle the Gym Leader the next day, Bede also prepared for his own challenge and renewed his promise to fight Floria.

  • Floria practiced against Savory, using Snom’s unpredictable movement to help him prepare for the Ghost-type Gym, while Marnie and Hop shared advice from their own Gym battles.
  • Floria, Yuuri, and Savory met Bede outside Hulbury Stadium, where he said he planned to battle that afternoon and challenged Floria to face him after they both cleared the Gym.
  • Bede privately recalled feeling safe fighting beside Floria in Galar Mine No. 2 and resolved to defeat him, while Floria entered Stow-on-Side Stadium’s teacup mission with an extra Poké Ball left behind for safekeeping.
  • Milcery spun Floria’s teacup wildly, causing her motion sickness, then evolved into Alcremie; Marnie explained that Alcremie evolved by spinning with a trusted trainer.
  • Sonia met Floria and her friends, pointed them toward replica ruins associated with the Hero legend, and said she would watch their Gym battles the next day.

Ch. 265Plans couldn't keep up with change

Nishida battled Onion in the Ghost-type Gym, defeating Desumasu with a switch-based strategy before trading knockouts with Mimikyu and Snom. With both Trainers down to two Pokémon, Alcremie faced Onion’s Sannigo, whose escalating power forced Nishida’s cream-field strategy into jeopardy.

  • Nishida’s Jimeron and Onion’s Desumasu opened the four-on-four match; Jimeron endured a burn, and Eevee copied Desumasu’s Hex before Jimeron finished it with a Water attack.
  • Onion sent out Mimikyu, whose Curse brought down Jimeron after it had removed Mimikyu’s disguise.
  • Snom trapped Mimikyu with ice-thread tactics and defeated it, but Mimikyu’s Foul Play caused Snom to be knocked out as well.
  • Nishida sent out newly evolved Alcremie against Onion’s unfamiliar Sannigo, and both Pokémon exchanged powerful attacks while Alcremie spread cream across the battlefield for mobility.
  • Sannigo triggered Ancient Power’s stat boosts and repeatedly strengthened its Dragon Energy, while Alcremie struggled to maintain its cream field.
  • Sannigo redirected a Dragon Energy attack into the ground, and the resulting explosion swallowed Alcremie’s Dazzling Gleam and cleared away the surrounding cream.

Ch. 266A child with limitless potential

Floria defeated Onion in a grueling Hulbury Gym battle, with Alcremie taking down Sannigone before Eevee overcame Gengar. After celebrating and receiving the Ghost Badge, Floria joined the spectators just as Yuuri’s battle turned dire, ending with Feebas facing Sannigone while Floria feared defeat.

  • Alcremie escaped her decoy cream armor and defeated Sannigone with Dazzling Gleam, forcing Onion to send out Gengar.
  • Gengar trapped Alcremie with Shadow Mark and defeated her, so Floria sent out Dynamaxed Eevee as her final Pokémon.
  • Eevee fought Gengar through a fast exchange of attacks, then used Electro Color Card to evade its counter and Bite it into defeat.
  • Floria won the match, received the Ghost Badge, and spoke with Onion and Saito about the battle and the rumors surrounding her unused Pokémon.
  • Floria joined Hop and Marnie to watch Yuuri’s battle, where Yuuri’s exhausted Pokémon fell until Feebas was sent out against Sannigone.

Ch. 267Rescue amid the ruins

Yuuri rallied Feebas to defeat Mr. Onion’s Sannigone, and Feebas evolved into Milotic, but a later trip to investigate Galar’s ruins turned into a crisis when Bede attacked the mural and then lost his memory. After Chairman Rose had Bede arrested and disqualified, the mural collapsed to reveal statues tied to Galar’s Hero legend, leaving Sonia and the others to investigate their connection to the tapestries.

  • Yuuri regained faith in Feebas, who countered Sannigone’s Dragon Energy with Mirror Coat and evolved into Milotic before defeating Mr. Onion’s final Pokémon.
  • Furia, Yuuri, Hop, Marnie, Bede, and Sonia set out to inspect ruins near Stow-on-Side, but a crash led them to find Bede attacking the mural with Chairman Rose’s Galarian Weezing.
  • Mr. Onion stopped Bede’s Pokémon, and Bede collapsed; when he woke, he could not remember attacking the ruins, while Kirlia and Savory showed signs of knowing more.
  • Chairman Rose and Olivia arrived, took Bede’s Wishing Stars and Max Power Band, and sent him away with the police as he faced disqualification from the Gym Challenge.
  • The damaged mural crumbled after another tremor, revealing statues of Pokémon and crowned humans, and Furia explained the Galar Hero story depicted in Hammerlocke’s tapestries.

Ch. 268The Psychic Performer

Floria and the others examined the newly uncovered Hero statue in Stow-on-Side and connected it to the two Pokémon Floria had encountered before. Later, Floria found Bede, confronted the men who had manipulated him, and watched Savory protect them; the group ended the night reconciled, with Bede challenging Savory to meet him at the top of the Esper Gym.

  • Sonia compared the newly uncovered statue with the Suwapomi Hotel statue and the Hammerlocke tapestry, concluding that the oldest source showed two young people and Pokémon facing the Black Knight, though someone had hidden the statue.
  • Floria, Hop, and Yuri recognized the statue’s Pokémon as the cyan and magenta creatures Floria had seen in the foggy forest, and the group returned to the hotel to discuss the discovery and other events.
  • While walking alone at night, Floria found Bede sitting on a bench and asked whether he knew who had manipulated him.
  • Kushen and Country approached Bede to recruit him for their Psychic Gym, revealed their involvement in controlling him, and sent Malamar to hypnotize Floria, but Savory arrived and drove them off with Gallade and Yadolan.
  • Savory told Floria and Bede about his painful upbringing at the Psychic Gym and how the Former Champion’s Dojo helped him grow, then apologized to Bede for their earlier encounter.
  • Bede and Savory put their old resentment aside and agreed to face each other again when Bede became the Esper Gym Leader, while Floria reassured Bede that she considered him a good person.

Ch. 269Psychic-type Assassin

Floria and Bede’s late-night battle ended in a draw after Hatterene evolved, and Bede accepted Opal’s offer to train at Ballonlea Stadium. Floria continued her Gym journey with Hop, Marnie, and Yuuri, but the group got lost in the maze forest and camped for the night.

  • Floria challenged Bede to a one-on-one battle, and Hattrem evolved into Hatterene as the two Trainers revealed their aces.
  • Floria’s Unova gained the advantage over Bede’s Hatterene, but a neighbor’s complaint interrupted the match before either Pokémon was defeated.
  • Bede admitted he felt he had lost, and Opal invited him to Ballonlea Stadium to train as her possible successor; Bede agreed to go with her.
  • Cynthia watched footage of Floria’s Gym battle while traveling with Jun and Hikari, and she hoped Floria would discover the cause of her past struggles with Unova.
  • Floria left Circhester with Hop, Marnie, and Yuuri, while Bede stayed behind to keep challenging the Gym and Saitou planned to visit her dojo.
  • The group became lost in the Nightlight Maze Forest, set up camp, and cooked curry together as their Pokémon gathered around them.

Ch. 270A Real Battle with Wild Pokémon

Floria, Yuuri, Hop, and Marnie encountered a hungry Sinistea and a Shiny Sinistea whose evolved form was rejected by a group of Polteageist. When the Polteageist attacked the Shiny Pokémon, Yuuri carried it to safety while the others fought, and Floria faced an incoming attack as the battle turned against them.

  • Marnie rescued a hungry Sinistea from falling, shared Floria’s curry with it, and later added it to her team.
  • Floria brewed tea in Yuuri’s antique teapot, which leaked through a crack, and the group shared the remaining tea and snacks.
  • A Shiny Sinistea appeared at the tea party, then fled into the forest when a loud ringing frightened it; Yuuri and the others followed and found a gathering led by a Polteageist.
  • The gathered Sinistea evolved after touching broken pottery, but the Shiny Sinistea remained unevolved and was attacked by the Polteageist.
  • Yuuri protected the Shiny Sinistea while Floria, Hop, and Marnie fought the attackers; the Polteageist broke their pots to gain speed and power, knocking out the others’ Pokémon and forcing Floria’s Eevee to dodge alone.
  • A stray attack flew toward Floria, and she failed to avoid it despite Hop’s and Marnie’s warning.

Ch. 271The Sinnoh Champion who stopped the League

Fria and her friends defeated the Potdeaths in the Nightglow Maze after Eevee evolved into Little Black and used Foul Play to bring down their leader. They reached Ballonlea, where Opal made Bede Fria’s Gym Mission opponent, and their one-on-one battle began with Fria’s Alcremie facing Bede’s Mawile.

  • Eevee evolved into Little Black, whose Moonlight healed the group and whose defenses helped them turn the battle against the Potdeaths.
  • Fria’s team exposed the leader Potdeaths to Little Black, who defeated it with Foul Play and drove the remaining enemies away.
  • Back at camp, Yuuri befriended Yaba Tea, which later evolved into a Shiny Potgeist as the group reached Ballonlea.
  • Fria and her friends registered for the Ballonlea Gym Mission, and Opal revealed that Bede would be Fria’s opponent.
  • Fria sent out Alcremie against Bede’s Mawile and used Dazzling Gleam, Acid Armor, and Mystical Fire to build an advantage with Alcremie’s cream.

Ch. 272The moment of farewell

Filia defeated Beat in the Ballonlea Gym Mission, while Beat’s advice helped Hop confront his slump and return to battling with Wooloo. Hop rediscovered his own style, Wooloo evolved during their match, and Hop won before joining his friends outside the stadium.

  • Filia used Alcremie’s cream and Fairy-type attacks to defeat Beat’s Mawile, while Opal pushed Beat to reconsider his fighting style.
  • Beat adapted his tactics, showed renewed resolve, and lost to Filia; afterward, he criticized Hop for making excuses and switching away from his longtime partners.
  • Filia found Hop after he fled to a park, encouraged him to trust his own approach, and arranged for him to face Beat again with Wooloo.
  • Hop recognized that he could not fight like Leon and chose to rely on Wooloo and his own persistent attacking style.
  • Wooloo evolved during the rematch, and Hop continued attacking until he defeated Beat’s Mawile.
  • Hop came out of Ballonlea Stadium with a delighted expression and thanked his friends for waiting.

Ch. 273Ballonlea Stadium

The challenger battled Gym Leader Opal at Ballonlea Stadium, defeating Matadogas and Mawile with Alcremie and Snom before facing Togekiss. Opal’s tricks weakened Snom, and the chapter ended with Togekiss pulling Snom back toward it by her own Ice Thread.

  • The challenger explored Ballonlea with Black, Snom, and Kirlia, then returned to the hotel to prepare for the Gym battle.
  • Opal began the battle with Matadogas, whose poison and battlefield hazards eventually poisoned Alcremie, but Alcremie defeated it with Mystical Fire and Dazzling Gleam.
  • The challenger sent Snom against Mawile, froze the battlefield, and used Snom’s spinning movement and Ice Threads to overcome Mawile’s attacks and defeat it.
  • Opal sent out Togekiss and used a quiz and its movements to lower Snom’s Special Defense before attacking with Draining Kiss and Dragon Energy.
  • Snom used rocks, Ice Threads, and a block of ice to strike Togekiss and slow it, but Togekiss rolled to shake Snom off and then pulled her toward it with the thread.

Ch. 274We must fight to the very end

Floria’s team was overwhelmed by Opal’s boosted Gigantamax Alcremie, but Jimeron volunteered for the final battle and evolved into Inteleon. Inteleon survived Alcremie’s attacks and created rain, but Opal’s Stored Power threatened to overwhelm the counterattack.

  • Snom and Togekiss knocked each other out, and Opal sent out her final Pokémon, Alcremie, after Togekiss had set Reflect and Light Screen.
  • Opal’s questions and movements weakened Floria’s Pokémon, while Alcremie spread cream across the battlefield, built up its defenses, and defeated Kirlia despite her elaborate attacks.
  • Floria’s Mawhip fought Alcremie but fell to G-Max Finale, restoring Alcremie’s strength and leaving Floria considering whether to send out Yunowa.
  • Jimeron urged Floria to choose her instead, and Floria trusted her; Jimeron evolved into Inteleon while Dynamaxed.
  • Inteleon deflected Alcremie’s Shared Max attacks with Deathstream and made rain, but Opal ordered Alcremie to counter Inteleon’s powerful attack with Stored Power.

Ch. 275The road ahead

Inteleon survived Mawhip’s devastating attack as Dynamax ended, activating Torrent and entering the final round against Alcremie. The trainer found a possible way to exploit Inteleon’s agility and skills, but poison, Alcremie’s cream, and the fading rain left them short on time.

  • The trainer and Dynamaxed Inteleon were pushed back by Mawhip’s overwhelming attack, but Inteleon survived when Strong Magnet Pull wore off and his body shrank.
  • Inteleon activated Torrent, and the trainer declared the final battle after both bouts of Max Power had ended.
  • Inteleon used Aqua Break to deflect Mawhip’s cream tentacles, then dodged Draining Kiss and tried to strike with Lock-On, but Alcremie’s cream blocked the attack.
  • Inteleon used his stealth and agility to reach Alcremie and slash her with a Water Blade, though the hit dealt little damage.
  • Alcremie tried to trap Inteleon in cream, and the trainer realized the poisoned cream could worsen Inteleon’s condition as the rain timer ran down.
  • The trainer resolved to skip some steps and accept greater risks to finish the battle in time.
