Background / History
Disguise and Knight Training
Li Xin is Li Aoxiao’s daughter and a Squire at the Haoyue Branch Hall. Her background allows her to enter the hall’s second floor freely. She dresses as a boy to prove that women can become knights and intends to resume female dress after reaching Knight rank 27 36 48.
She shares a dormitory with Yang Tian and believes he does not know her gender. In fact, he recognizes her identity early and deliberately preserves her cover. She also asks Lin Jialu not to expose her disguise 23 30.
First Adventuring Mission
Li Xin proposes forming a party with Yang Tian when he visits the Adventurers’ Guild. They accept a mission to kill second-rank demon beasts near Purple Star Town, then recruit her best friend, the ice-magic apprentice Lin Jialu. This is Li Xin’s first experience hunting demon beasts 30 31.
Initially frightened by the beasts and their victims’ remains, she nevertheless engages three enemies at once. With her companions’ support, the team kills six beasts, and Yang Tian praises her quick adaptation. Afterward, she comforts Weiwei, a child whose parents were killed, and helps escort her home 32 33.
The party then enters the Purple Star Mountain Range to gather herbs for Weiwei’s sick grandmother. Li Xin applies Yang Tian’s advice about vulnerable areas to kill Carnivorous Dragons and later helps fight a fourth-level Demon-Patterned Tiger 34.
The Purple Star Three Fiends
When the Purple Star Three Fiends attempt to seize the tiger’s magic crystal, Li Xin recognizes them and tells Lin Jialu to send a distress signal. During the fight, she gives Yang Tian her magic longsword after his iron sword breaks, then uses the broken weapon herself while helping restrain a third-tier warrior 35.
Reinforcements save the party, but the enemy Grand Knight destroys Yang Tian’s cultivation. Li Xin pleads with Lin Yinjia to help him and later asks her father for a remedy, offering to make a trade if necessary. Neither can restore his power 36 38.
Nearly a month later, Li Xin returns to Purple Star Town with Lin Jialu. She remains determined to reach Knight rank and reassures her friend that Yang Tian will recover 48.
Appearance
- Male presentation: Described as a handsome youth, with a soft, tender voice and a combination of feminine gentleness and heroic bearing 23 30.
- Height: Half a head taller than Yang Tian when they visit the Adventurers’ Guild 30.
- Disguise: Binds her chest, which she finds uncomfortable; plans to stop after becoming a Knight 31 48.
- Distinguishing details: White, slender legs and a noticeable fragrance after bathing 23.
Personality
Li Xin is boisterous, competitive, and outspoken. She takes pride in her strength, insists she will not hold Yang Tian back on missions, and becomes frustrated when his exceptional cultivation eclipses her own achievement. Her determination to prove women can become knights underlies her disguise and advancement goals 27 30 48.
Her sense of justice is emphatic: she treats eliminating evil as upholding goodness, condemns the Three Fiends, and reacts angrily to demon beasts killing civilians. That indignation is paired with gentleness toward Weiwei and persistent concern for the injured Yang Tian 30 32 33 35 36 38.
She often hides affection behind teasing or denial. She calls Yang Tian a “blockhead,” worries about his whereabouts, and feels discouraged when she suspects he likes Lin Jialu. Although she denies wanting him romantically, the narration records jealousy when Lin Jialu declares her intentions 23 30 31 38.
