• Kimimaro killed Guren and Haku with Ten-Finger Drilling Bullets, while Itachi escaped into a flock of crows, Obito became intangible, and Black Zetsu hid in a stone pillar.
• Kimimaro spotted Itachi approaching Jing Xiu and intercepted him, then attacked Kiyoteru Otsutsuki with Gentle Fist: Mystic Gates Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms.
• Itachi’s Amaterasu disrupted Kimimaro’s attack on Kiyoteru, while Kimimaro countered Ryusei Otsutsuki’s charge with Amaterasu Bone Shuriken and bone projectiles.

Jing Xiu stopped Kiyoteru Otsutsuki from turning Kimimaro into a pill and negotiated a truce that let Kiyoteru return to the moon with information about him. The encounter ended with Obito Uchiha taking Uchiha Itachi and the others away, while Itachi remained unable to avenge his father.

• Obito Uchiha tried to take Jing Xiu's Rinnegan as Uchiha Itachi attacked, but Kiyoteru Otsutsuki burned Obito's arm and hurled Itachi into a stone pillar.
• Jing Xiu appeared beside Kimimaro, bound the power Kiyoteru had implanted in him, and told him to absorb it using the cultivation method he had taught him.
• Jing Xiu struck Black Zetsu with silvery-white lightning and told Kiyoteru to inform the Otsutsuki clan head that he would visit someday.

Jing Xiu brought Kimimaro to the Waterfall of Truth on Turtle Island to help him absorb the trace of Otsutsuki bloodline and face his inner wounds. As Kimimaro’s darkness nearly consumed him, a golden light revealed Hamura Otsutsuki’s presence, and a man resembling Kiyoteru Otsutsuki tried to take Kimimaro’s body.

• Jing Xiu comforted Kimimaro after their fight in the Kamui Dimension, then took him to Turtle Island to train at the Waterfall of Truth.
• Jing Xiu explained the waterfall’s trial and watched as Kimimaro confronted a black-eyed version of himself, who voiced the pain of his childhood imprisonment.
• Kimimaro’s anger, fear, and despair intensified until his presence nearly vanished, and Jing Xiu feared the trial had killed him.
• A golden light burst from Kimimaro’s chest, and Jing Xiu recognized the presence of Hamura Otsutsuki within it.
• Inside the illusion, Kimimaro witnessed a man resembling Kiyoteru Otsutsuki leap toward him and declare that he would take Kimimaro’s body.

Jing Xiu helped Kimimaro overcome Kiyoteru Otsutsuki’s consciousness and strengthen his body, then asked him to guard him during his third fetal stirring. Elsewhere, the Five Great Nations and Akatsuki pursued Sasori to force him to help them attack Jing Xiu, and Sasori activated a charged talisman when they cornered him.

• Jing Xiu used talismans and spiritual guidance to help Kimimaro overcome the darkness and absorb Kiyoteru Otsutsuki’s lingering consciousness.
• Jing Xiu used the Body Tempering Furnace and Source of Life to help Kimimaro merge his spine with White Zetsu’s and strengthen his body.
• Kimimaro reported his growing strength and painful Byakugan, and Jing Xiu predicted that he might soon awaken the Tenseigan before asking him to guard the next fetal stirring.
• Black Zetsu and Uchiha Itachi recruited the Five Great Nations to join their plan to hunt Jing Xiu, while Sunagakure required Sasori’s capture to secure Granny Chiyo’s help.

Sasori unleashed Jing Xiu’s talisman, summoning thousands of spirits to attack the Akatsuki. The battle left Deidara injured and escaping, while Konan and the others remained surrounded.

• Sasori opened the First Gate and directed his spirit puppets’ attacks at Itachi, Konan, Kakuzu, Hidan, and Kisame.
• Kakuzu was incinerated by the combined Fire and Wind attacks, while the Second Tsuchikage’s forces reduced Hidan to a helpless head.

Uchiha Jing Xiu mourned Sasori and prepared to face the nations that had declared him an enemy, while the Five Kage and Akatsuki made plans to stop him. As Black Zetsu urged Uchiha Itachi and Obito Uchiha to confront Jing Xiu, Jing Xiu appeared and challenged them.

• Uchiha Jing Xiu visited the place where Sasori died, vowed to punish Zetsu, and left with Kimimaro.
• Jing Xiu learned that Sunagakure’s Baki coveted his Rinnegan and searched a hidden mausoleum for the Third Raikage’s corpse.
• The Five Great Nations’ leaders agreed to meet in the Land of Iron, while Tsunade and Jiraiya discussed Jing Xiu and Konoha’s role in the Uchiha Clan’s destruction.
• Black Zetsu warned Obito Uchiha and Uchiha Itachi that Jing Xiu had likely mastered Six Paths Power and was making Six Paths Puppets.
• Black Zetsu declared that Itachi was Jing Xiu’s destined rival, and Jing Xiu’s voice suddenly challenged him.

Jing Xiu confronted Obito Uchiha and Uchiha Itachi in the underground cavern, subdued Black Zetsu, and took Sasori’s remains. He pursued Obito into the Kamui Dimension, summoned Rin Nohara to guard it, and attacked Obito again after he escaped.

• Uchiha Itachi attacked Jing Xiu with Susanoo, but Jing Xiu removed his bandages and subdued Black Zetsu with an unknown black liquid.
• Kimimaro absorbed Itachi’s sea of fire while Jing Xiu entered the Kamui Dimension and began making a coffin for Sasori’s remains.

• Jing Xiu ambushed Kakashi at Obito’s gravestone, took his left eye, and told him to warn Shimura Danzō that stolen power would never belong to him.

• Orochimaru used the smoke from Itachi’s bomb to trap the exhausted, blind Uchiha Itachi inside a summoned snake.
• Kiyoteru Otsutsuki arrived with Nyudo Otsutsuki and Akari Otsutsuki, seeking to devour Kimimaro and gain his power.
• Nyudo and Akari dismissed Jing Xiu and Kimimaro as weak, then Akari sent a chakra butterfly toward Jing Xiu.

Jing Xiu awakened, stopped Kimimaro and Nyudo Otsutsuki from unleashing their devastating attacks, and trapped Kiyoteru Otsutsuki in a new genjutsu. As Kimimaro prepared to devour Kiyoteru, Jing Xiu turned his attention to the moon and said it was time to return.

• Jiraiya used a Sage Art: Big Ball Rasengan against Akari Otsutsuki's Twin Butterfly Round Mirror, shattering it and prompting Akari to decide she would raze Mount Myōboku.
• Kimimaro struggled to protect Jing Xiu from Nyudo Otsutsuki and began preparing his life-consuming ultimate technique as Nyudo formed a full-moon attack.
