Even if the World Government no longer wanted to keep him around, Egghead Island had so many advanced technological products, along with things capable of changing the world, like Punk Records and the Mother Carmel Flame Power Reactor. Could Imu really bring himself to destroy them all?
Besides, given the World Government's current state and the fact that Saint Mary Geoise had been destroyed twice, was York really still so determined to become a Celestial Dragon?

Whether York had betrayed them or not, once he ruled out the exceedingly unlikely possibility that Imu's eight-hundred-year-old brain had gone haywire and he had sent the newly repaired Uranus to bombard Totto Land, Hachinosu, or Baltigo, that last attack could essentially only have taken place on Egghead Island.

Most of Egghead Island's garrison had been transferred to Marineford. Kaido and Charlotte Linlin probably would not have missed that opportunity, so there was a very good chance they had been caught in it too.
The Five Elders had probably gone to Egghead Island as well. Since they could not die anyway, they were the best candidates to lure in and hold up the Beasts-Big Mom Alliance. With some luck, they might even have seized an opportunity
