Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Flame-Flame Fruit acquisition 17 Voluntarily eats and swallows one bite after Xie Wen explains the powers, drawbacks, and foul taste. Gains fire-control and fire-transformation abilities.
Detailed flame shaping 17 Immediately creates flame likenesses of herself, Dodoco, Xie Wen, and Sanji Meow, followed by a life-sized Rathalos with detailed scales, claws, and moving features.
High-temperature, heat-compressed flames 18 Following Xie Wen’s advice, raises a fireball’s temperature until it turns purple, then concentrates its heat so the surroundings cool. Safely draws the fireball back into her body.
Reliable fire containment 19 During the week after her summoning, learns to keep accidental fires under control and immediately contain burning trees.
Sonic-based fishing bombs 22 Dismantles and studies Xie Wen’s Sonic Bomb, then upgrades her fishing explosives to stun fish without damaging their flesh.
Great Fireball Technique demonstrated 42 Uses her fruit powers in a Naruto-inspired attack, taking out nearly one-third of the attacking Capone Family force with a single fireball.
Whoosh-Whoosh Bombs demonstrated 51 Further-developed sonic fishing bombs can travel through water or air. Her combat versions incapacitate the Head-Hunting Pirates and warp and crack their ship.
Compact enhanced explosives and blast modulation 56 Develops red Boom-Booms approaching Jumpy Dumpty’s power in a smaller package. Her fruit ability can strengthen or weaken her bombs’ explosions.
Observation Haki confirmed 58 Describes sensing emotions, inanimate objects, and their impending changes. The ability sometimes activates automatically during experiments or in response to hostile intentions; its exact awakening date is not established.
Armament Haki training limitation 64 Has not yet learned Armament Haki; Chinjao attributes the delay to her young age and insufficient physical development. Her fruit-enhanced bombs are nevertheless powerful enough to make Xie Wen doubt his own Armament defenses.
Super Boom-Boom Spark 68 After recovering from Conqueror’s Haki intimidation, creates a giant flaming clover that fires repeated flame beams at Chinjao.
Deliberate Observation Haki demonstration 78 Dodges Meow Jūshirō’s restrained attacks with her eyes covered. At this point, she explicitly knows Observation Haki but not Armament Haki.
Dudu Bear summons and Logia reassembly 180 181 Controls attacking Flame Bears, uses Chidori Meow, and reassembles after Law separates her with Shambles.
Combined flame-sword technique 188 Elementalizes around Xie Wen’s arm and Long Moon for Flame Release: Kagutsuchi and their joint Ultimate Secret Sword: Homusubi.
Explosive Sparks 193 Creates animal-shaped flame puppets carrying explosives, including C1: Spark Spider and C1: Spark Sparrow; tests different payloads against selected structures.
Raid Suit flight demonstrated 209 Uses jet-powered greaves for flight more agile than her existing flame-jet propulsion.
Ship power and flame skeleton 259 282 Powers the Toot Toot Forward through a “solar furnace” and a flame skeleton resembling Dudu Bear; can leave flame guards aboard.
Multiple flame clones 290 631 Produces detailed, multicolored copies of herself. Later deploys thirty or forty at once against the Beasts Pirates, with the narration stating that she could make more.
Alchemy Style and compressed bomb arsenal 687 Has naturally unlocked Alchemy Style. Her small spherical bombs have been consolidated into Sonic Bombs, fishing Boom-Booms, and Compressed Jumpy Dumpties; she increasingly uses freshly made Explosive Sparks and combination attacks with Jinx Meow.
Mother Flame ingestion 708 Swallows, digests, and returns Egghead’s Mother Flame. The restored furnace’s energy conversion efficiency is measured as 47.28% higher afterward.
Upgraded Little Girl combination missile 739 Coats an upgraded Little Girl bomb in blue flame for Jinx Meow to launch from Fishbones, enlarged with Suika Meow’s help, at Uranus.
Full-body flame armor and wings 793 Becomes golden-red flame armor covering Xie Wen, with wings nearly four meters across, for their aerial combination attack against Uranus.
Seventh Generation Little Girl deployment 797 After Imu teleports away her first bomb, tracks it with her Sheikah Slate, attaches a second to Uranus, and withdraws by teleportation. She and Jinx Meow detonate the two bombs nearly simultaneously.

Background / History

Klee comes from Mondstadt Village, where the Knights of Favonius admit only the best Palicoes. She proudly identifies herself as their youngest knight. Their grand master is known as Granny Cat; Klee does not know Granny’s actual name 17.

Xie Wen summons her with a fiery-red summoning ticket. She recognizes him as the “Sapphire Star” and introduces herself as the Spark Knight, although she forgets the rest of her formal greeting 16 17.

Concerned about her safety but unwilling to suppress her enthusiasm for fighting, Xie Wen offers her the Flame-Flame Fruit. Her curiosity overcomes her hesitation about its taste, and she rapidly learns to use its powers. When told that she has arrived in another world, she becomes excited about adventuring across an ocean full of fish 17 18.

As the Research Commission expands, Klee becomes both a major combatant and a practical source of power for its remodeled ship. Xie Wen repeatedly relies on her luck to choose destinations and locate people or valuable objects, while Hua Mei Meow takes a firmer role in supervising her training and experiments 101 142 179 259 282.

Her abilities and noncombat work eventually become public through Morgans’s coverage of the Commission, which introduces her as “Running Sun” Klee, identifies her as the Flame-Flame Fruit user, and credits her illustration and restaurant roles 403.

Appearance

Klee is a small, fluffy ragdoll kitten, noticeably smaller than Sanji Meow 16.

  • Eyes: Large, ruby-like eyes 21.
  • Clothing: Red beret and red dress with a signature four-leaf clover motif 16.
  • Backpack: Carries a small backpack with Dodoco hanging from it 16.
  • Additional outfits: Village women make her a large collection of clothes after she becomes popular on their island 33.
  • Raid Suit: Initially demonstrates a suit pieced together from differently colored fabrics, with jet-powered greaves that leave her paw pads free. On Sky Island, her transformation produces an Akatsuki-style outfit from a black canister patterned with red clouds 209 268.

Personality

Klee is cheerful, curious, and full of energy. She eagerly explores ships and towns, asks sailors about their work, and grows bored when confined aboard ship for too long. Making explosives is her favorite activity, with exploration her second favorite 24 25 34 49.

She is affectionate and especially attached to Xie Wen, frequently riding on his shoulders, rubbing against his face, and licking him. The narration explicitly describes her as clingier than the original Klee. Even when angry enough to bite him, she shows concern afterward by rubbing his ear or carefully licking the bite marks 25 33 36 49.

Her enthusiasm can overwhelm her restraint: she admits that excitement caused her to throw too many bombs in Paper Lantern Town. Nevertheless, she understands safety instructions and obeys an explicit ban on bombs during the Capone Family battle. She also challenges unclear instructions, pointing out that Xie Wen authorized her earlier attack before telling her to hold back 27 35 42.

Klee is kind-hearted and rejects the idea of becoming a bad person. She asks Xie Wen to help Ottilia once she learns the apparent intruder is fleeing the gangs, and voluntarily offers him the money she wins by betting on his sparring match 29 44 48.

Her attachment can become possessive: she briefly competes with Hua Mei Meow over Xie Wen’s affection, worries that Zou’s Minks will “steal” him, and intervenes when the Kuja women crowd around him. She is nonetheless capable of sharing his attention and enthusiastically welcomes new companions 77 99 447 510 728.

Despite her friendly demeanor, Klee is selective about physical affection from outsiders. She generally allows only people who show goodwill toward the entire Research Commission and whom she personally does not dislike to touch her. She escapes Yamato’s attempt to kiss her and returns to Xie Wen 423 639.

Klee sometimes plays innocent or uses technicalities to justify her experiments. During her later bomb research, admitting that she has “made trouble again” becomes an affectionate game between her and Xie Wen. She also learns to employ deception in combat, pretending to be helpless after Law separates her before counterattacking 34 82 181.

She dislikes routine training and may pretend to sleep to avoid it, but her desire to help Xie Wen motivates her to work. Hua Mei Meow successfully appeals to that desire and remains an authority Klee obeys even when Klee is stronger in direct combat 101 150.

Storytelling becomes another sustained interest. Klee enjoys retelling Naruto the Cat and other stories to newcomers, adding her own details and making the explosion scenes increasingly elaborate 677.

Abilities & Skills

Flame-Flame Fruit

The Logia Flame-Flame Fruit allows Klee to control fire and turn into it, providing the safeguard Xie Wen wanted before allowing her to fight 17.

  • Precision shaping: Produces recognizable figures and an animated, life-sized Rathalos almost immediately after eating the fruit 17.
  • Temperature control: Creates purple flames whose heat alarms Xie Wen and drives Sanji Meow away 18.
  • Heat compression: Concentrates heat inside a small fireball without continuing to heat the surrounding area 18.
  • Fire recovery and cleanup: Draws her own fireball into her body and contains fires accidentally started during experiments 18 19 33.
  • Swimming limitation: Loses her former ability to swim. Xie Wen supervises experiments at sea and carries her during island landings 34 49.
  • Safety restriction: Xie Wen warns her not to use purple flames casually because of the danger to others 18.
  • Explosion modulation: Can use her fruit powers to weaken or strengthen her bombs’ explosions, allowing her to employ explosives whose unmodified power would be dangerous for another user 56 64.
  • Logia reassembly: Reforms after Law divides her with Shambles. Her elemental body and Observation Haki make it difficult for him to land effective attacks during their fight 181.
  • Flame propulsion: Can fly using jets of flame, though her Raid Suit provides greater aerial agility 209.
  • Self-cleaning: Turns her entire body into fire and back to demonstrate that she can clean herself without a conventional bath 100.
  • Seastone vulnerability: Testing confirms that seastone can directly touch her elemental body and remains undamaged by her flames; it nevertheless conducts heat and does not make suitable insulation for a wearer 259.
  • Mother Flame interaction: Swallows Egghead’s Mother Flame because it smells delicious, temporarily shutting down the island’s power. After digesting it, she spits it back into its furnace, restoring power with a measured 47.28% increase in energy conversion efficiency. This incident does not establish that she permanently retains the Mother Flame 708.

Explosives Engineering

Klee designs, builds, tests, and modifies her own bombs, developing new formulas even while traveling 18 19 34.

  • Rapid bombardment: Throws bombs fast enough for her paws to leave afterimages; her barrage defeats the Paper Lantern Town gangs and flattens the alley 26.
  • Sea King suppression: Knocks out a huge Sea King with Jumpy Dumpty while fishing near the shore 20.
  • Selective fishing explosives: Uses knowledge from a dismantled Sonic Bomb to preserve fish quality while stunning her catch 22.
  • Fruit-enhanced explosives: The narration describes her superheated, fruit-enhanced Jumpy Dumpties as a particularly dangerous matchup for Bege’s castle defenses; this is an assessment, not a demonstrated victory over him 37.
  • Failed explosive-tag project: Abandons conventional explosive tags because she cannot make them function reliably or remain stable without her fruit power 33 34.
  • Experimental hazards: One premature detonation sends up a plume of seawater that drenches Xie Wen and their skiff, while Klee shelters behind him unharmed 34.
  • Mobile sonic bombs: Develops Whoosh-Whoosh Bombs to reach fish deep underwater. They can travel through water like torpedoes or through the air like missiles, and her combat versions inflict bleeding ears and structural damage 51.
  • Compact high-power models: Creates enhanced red Boom-Booms approaching Jumpy Dumpty’s power while being easier to carry 56.
  • Controlled testing: Selects targets according to nearby materials, environmental conditions, and structural features, then varies the explosives inside her flame puppets to compare results 193.
  • Continual escalation: Even after developing utility explosives, she tends to create more powerful versions. By Chapter 687, Compressed Jumpy Dumpty is her weakest nonutility model, and her usual approach increasingly involves on-demand Explosive Sparks or combination moves with Jinx Meow 51 687.
  • Strategic-scale explosives: Develops successive versions of Little Girl, including an upgraded missile attack against Uranus and Seventh Generation bombs deployed against Uranus and Imu’s forces 739 797.

Great Fireball Technique

Klee imitates the Fire Release attacks from Xie Wen’s Naruto the Cat stories using her Flame-Flame Fruit powers 30 42.

  • Uses improvised hand gestures and announces “Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique” before attacking 42.
  • Employs it when forbidden to throw bombs, taking out nearly one-third of the enemy force in one attack 42.
  • Her use of “Fire Release” leaves Bege unaware that she is actually a Logia Devil Fruit user 43.

Flame Constructs and Summons

Klee extends her early flame shaping into remotely controlled combat constructs, clones, and explosive puppets 17 181 193 290.

  • Super Boom-Boom Spark: Creates a giant flaming clover that sprays flame beams in rapid succession. Uses it to occupy Chinjao while Xie Wen recovers from a heavy blow 68.
  • Dudu Bear: Uses a bear doll resembling Guoba as the focus for a summoning-style technique. The resulting Flame Bear charges, attacks, and spits fireballs; she later directs Dudu Bear against Moria’s Doppelman and uses it in battle against Big Mom’s forces 180 181 291 389.
  • Explosive Sparks: Wraps explosives in flames, shapes them into animal puppets, and sends them to self-destruct. Named examples include C1: Spark Spider and C1: Spark Sparrow, inspired by Deidara’s explosive clay 193.
  • Multiple Fire Clones: Creates copies of herself whose clothing details are outlined in differently colored flames. During her first displayed attempt to conceal herself among them, she gives away her position by speaking 290.
  • Mass deployment: Produces thirty or forty flame clones against the Beasts Pirates on Onigashima; the stated limit is the lack of a need for more, rather than an inability to create them 631.
  • Construct durability and escape: Escapes Moria’s Shadow Box using a flame beam, while her explosive Flame Sparrows break through his enclosing shadows and contribute to the collapse of a castle tower 291.
  • Flame guards: Leaves constructs aboard the airborne Toot Toot Forward to defend it while the crew enters Thriller Bark 282.
  • Dudu Valstrax: Controls this construct during the fight with Kaido, later recognizing that the Dudu’s Klabautermann had assisted her 430.

Haki

Klee possesses Observation Haki, with a particular aptitude for sensing emotions. Her initial explanation compares it to listening with her ears, except that she can perceive intentions and details that ordinary hearing does not provide 58 99.

  • Emotional perception: Detects hostile intentions from the men trying to buy her and Sanji Meow, and later shares in the joy surrounding Cocoyasi Village’s banquet 58 99.
  • Objects and changes: Reports sensing inanimate things and the changes about to occur to them. This description is not explicitly identified as advanced future sight 58.
  • Automatic activation: The ability can activate during experiments or when she encounters threatening intentions 58.
  • Conscious use: Demonstrates it by covering her eyes and avoiding Meow Jūshirō’s restrained sword thrusts. He deliberately limits his speed and strength; the demonstration does not establish that she can evade his full-speed attacks 78.
  • Range and fatigue: Initially considers its range shorter than that of her ordinary hearing and finds continuous use tiring, so Xie Wen encourages regular practice 58.
  • Combat warning: Detects pirates gathering to attack after the Devil Fruit auction and senses Hua Mei Meow’s approaching group while experimenting in Dark Reef Town 150 193.
  • Limitations: Xie Wen later notes that neither Klee nor Shirahoshi has apparently sensed malice from Teach. Her emotional perception is therefore not treated as an infallible test of someone’s character 672.
  • Armament distinction: She has not learned Armament Haki in the early training chapters and explicitly states that she only knows Observation Haki when introducing it to Meow Jūshirō 64 78.

Combination Techniques and Ship Power

  • Flame Release: Kagutsuchi / Ultimate Secret Sword: Homusubi: Becomes flame around Xie Wen’s shoulder, right arm, and Long Moon, adding her powers to their joint sword attack 188.
  • Ship power source: Supplies the Toot Toot Forward with a “solar furnace” and a Dudu Bear-like flame skeleton that functions as its operating system. Flames appear through the joints when it assumes its catlike land form 259.
  • Specialized ship operation: Xie Wen explains that the ship’s design depends on Meowrah’s engineering and Klee’s power, rather than being something ordinary builders could reproduce and operate merely from its plans 282.
  • Jinx Meow combinations: Supplies explosives and enhanced flames for joint attacks. Her repeated “feeding” also helps Jinx develop resistance to increasingly powerful explosions through the Bomb-Bomb Fruit 344 687.
  • Super Ultimate Little Girl Missile: Coats Little Girl in blue flame and passes it to Jinx, who launches it from Fishbones after Suika enlarges the weapon 739.
  • Golden-red flame armor: Envelops Xie Wen in flame armor with wings more than three meters long, nearly four, during their aerial assault on Uranus 793.
  • Monster Hunter Style: Feline Combination Technique: Heavenly Dance: Blazing Inferno: Combines her flame armor with Xie Wen’s enormous flaming sword-energy attack against Uranus 793.

Luck and Treasure Hunting

Xie Wen considers Klee exceptionally lucky and associates her good fortune with the Clover constellation 21 45.

  • He lets her choose their first sailing direction; a News Coo later confirms that the nearest land lies that way 21 22.
  • Her chance encounter with a Sea King reinforces his confidence in her luck 20 21.
  • She possesses an innate treasure-hunting talent, which Xie Wen considers another reason to bring her on island expeditions 49.
  • Finds a Devil Fruit in a small treasure chest while collecting spoils from the Suwak Pirates’ base 72.
  • Discovers a rusty, door-sized Great Sword while searching wreckage 114.
  • Her navigation by instinct becomes reliable enough that Hua Mei Meow jokes that it makes her question the need to study navigation 142.
  • Accompanies Xie Wen and Kuma to help locate Law; their first landing brings them directly to the Heart Pirates 179.
  • Can literally smell treasure during her solo exploration of Sky Island, finding gold and the area around Shandora’s buried ruins 267.
  • Helps locate Vander Decken IX when the group follows the direction indicated by her tail 336.
  • At the King of Gold Hotel, controlled betting tests show that her inborn luck can carry Touma Meow to victory when she actively wants to win. Touma still suffers unrelated mishaps afterward, and Klee can lose a bet when she is not particularly invested in winning 615.
  • Her luck does not automatically protect every companion: during their later ruins adventure, she enjoys herself while Touma suffers repeated injuries and damage despite making the same choices 727.
  • Locates a treasure chest after experimenting with a Sheikah Slate; the resulting Treasure Map leads the group through several islands to Trans-Town 715 722.
  • During the Uranus battle, Xie Wen regards her escape from Imu’s Pentagram as another example of extraordinary luck, comparing it to a protagonist’s plot armor 797.

Drawing

  • Draws a picture of Sasuke Meow that Xie Wen sincerely praises. He recognizes her drawing style as nearly identical to artwork from the original Klee’s promotional video 30.
  • Becomes the credited illustrator of the Travel Guide series in Morgans’s public introduction of the Research Commission 403.

Other Skills

  • Alchemy Style: Naturally unlocks the style before Meowrah and Ai Haibara Meow; the passage does not provide a detailed list of her Alchemy Style techniques 687.
  • Cooking: Publicly credited as the Third Cook of the Palico Seafaring Mobile Restaurant 403.
  • Storytelling: Repeatedly retells Xie Wen’s adapted stories to new companions, embellishing them with her own ideas 677.
  • Close combat limitation: Her ordinary hand-to-hand skills are described as average during the Law encounter, and she shifts to summons after he evades her initial Chidori attack 180.
  • Digging and climbing: Quickly climbs a pirate ship’s hull without a ladder and readily digs through Island Cloud, both consistent with her feline and Palico traits 51 267.

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Bomb backpack — Holds multiple models of her homemade explosives 22 26. Its magical storage accommodates large quantities of materials, gifts, and bombs larger than Klee herself 64 82 99 291.
  • Dodoco — Hangs from her backpack and is also one of the figures she recreates in fire 16 17.
  • Boom-Boom bombs — Her basic explosives; even the weakest versions are powerful enough to flatten an alley when used in a barrage 26 34. Later develops solid-red enhanced versions approaching Jumpy Dumpty’s power 56.
  • Jumpy Dumpty — The bomb she uses to knock out a Sea King 20. Later examples are larger than Klee, and its unmodified power is described in terms of reshaping the landscape 56 64 291.
  • Fishing bombs — Initially cook fish through their blasts; later modified to stun them while preserving their flesh 22.
  • Whoosh-Whoosh Bombs — Proposed against the Head-Hunting Pirates, then actually used to incapacitate them. Developed from sonic fishing bombs, they can move through both water and air; the combat variants also damage the pirates’ ship 50 51. Uses later upgrades against the pirates pursuing the Commission from Spring Queen City 150.
  • Special gunpowder — Purchased for her by Xie Wen while visiting Gless Island 36.
  • Dudu Bear doll — A stuffed bear resembling Guoba, attached to her backpack and used in her summoning-style flame technique 180 181.
  • Raid Suit and transformation canister — Grants agile powered flight through jet greaves. On Sky Island, activates an Akatsuki-style suit using a black canister decorated with red clouds and the call “Spark Knight, transform” 209 268.
  • Dudu Den Den Mushi — Maintains a collection that Xie Wen cannot reliably distinguish individually 452.
  • Compressed Jumpy Dumpty — One of the three remaining small spherical bomb categories by Chapter 687, alongside Sonic Bombs and fishing Boom-Booms. At that stage, it is her least powerful nonutility explosive 687.
  • Sheikah Slate — Uses its teleportation function for exploration and battle withdrawal, and its displays to follow distant combat. Tracks the Little Girl bomb displaced by Imu before escaping Uranus with teleportation 715 768 797.
  • Treasure Map — Found through her exploration and used to guide the Commission through several islands to Trans-Town 722.
  • Little Girl bombs — High-powered explosives developed through successive upgrades. An upgraded version is launched at Uranus in cooperation with Jinx and Suika; two Seventh Generation bombs are later detonated against Uranus and Imu’s forces 739 797.

Relationships

  • Xie Wen — Summoner, expedition leader, and protective older-brother figure. She calls him “Big Brother Xie Wen”; he gives her the Flame-Flame Fruit, supervises dangerous experiments, and takes responsibility for damage she causes 17 26 34. Their bond remains intensely affectionate as the crew grows, and they develop combination techniques in which she becomes flames around his weapon or entire body 99 188 472 793.
  • Sanji Meow — Companion whom she calls “Big Brother Sanji.” He cooks for her, shares his treasured catnip, and regularly defends her when Xie Wen criticizes her. Her arrival also motivates him to train harder 17 19 21 35.
  • Granny Cat — Grand master of the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt Village; Klee knows her only by this title 17.
  • Bax — Protective member of Cody’s entourage. He tries to shield the cats from gangs and helps arrange a safer place for Klee’s bomb experiments after learning their destructive potential 26 34.
  • Cody — Employer and ally who covers the compensation for her Paper Lantern Town bombing in exchange for an escort job. His sailors reveal that he also hoped her bombs could help the fleet escape trouble at the trade fair 27 29. She later addresses him as “Uncle Cody”; his agreement to supply Dyna Stones also interests her and Jinx 245 480.
  • Ottilia — Temporary shipmate whom Klee initially mistakes for a thief, then asks Xie Wen to shelter. Ottilia later looks after her while Xie Wen trains, except during bomb-making 47 48 49.
  • Capone Bege — Enemy who attempts to buy her and Sanji Meow. Klee later fights his subordinates while Xie Wen confronts him 38 42.
  • Meow Jūshirō — Calls him “Big Brother Seijūrō” and demonstrates Observation Haki for him. He is astonished by her bombardment and respectfully calls her “Klee-hime” 78 79 80.
  • Hua Mei Meow / Scarlet Tiger-sama — Affectionate older-sister figure, trainer, and principal disciplinarian. Develops tailored training with Meow Jūshirō, restricts dangerous experiments, and protects Klee from Niji. Klee loves her but is easily intimidated by her sternness, even before Hua Mei gains the Magma-Magma Fruit 101 150 152 155 204 747.
  • Ai Haibara Meow — Fellow kitten and frequent partner in mischief and technical projects. They can also quarrel, including tussling in Xie Wen’s arms during an argument over stories 204 372 432.
  • Meowrah / Purah — Technical collaborator whose ship designs rely on Klee’s flame power. Supplies her with a Sheikah Slate that she immediately uses for exploration 259 282 715.
  • Nico Robin — Companion whose research Klee helps by marking the entrance to Shandora’s ruins. Robin also holds and pets her while reading, and Klee later controls Dudu Bear from Robin’s shoulder 267 379 389.
  • Jinx Meow — Older-sister figure and explosives partner. Klee helps develop Jinx’s resistance to enhanced explosions and collaborates with her on Little Girl attacks 344 687 739 797.
  • Dudu — The Toot Toot Forward’s Klabautermann. Klee welcomes her as a little sister and realizes she previously helped while Klee controlled Dudu Valstrax against Kaido 430. Later agrees to wait with Dudu and help Xie Wen escape if the Big Mom ambush goes badly 480.
  • Kaido Meow — Large, gentle companion whom she immediately climbs and affectionately licks. He successfully comforts her and joins her in clinging to Xie Wen 452 453 472.
  • Trafalgar Law — Sparring opponent who initially underestimates her. Her summons, Observation Haki, Logia body, and deceptive counterattack place him under sustained pressure 180 181.
  • Boa Hancock — Becomes friendly with Klee after promising not to bully cats or small animals without reason. Klee keeps the secret of Hancock’s Celestial Dragon brand and asks Xie Wen to stop disliking her 506.
  • Touma Meow — Companion whose misfortune contrasts with her exceptional luck. She can help him win bets, but cannot prevent the mishaps that follow or automatically shield him during shared adventures 615 727.
  • Moria — Opponent in a contest between their summons. His attempt to imprison her escalates the fight into a destructive exchange involving Explosive Sparks and Jumpy Dumpty 290 291.

Story Role / Major Arcs

First Island and Departure

  • Her early experiments become a daily feature of island life; nearby birds largely relocate, though she keeps subsequent fires and explosions within acceptable limits 19.
  • Her defeat of a Sea King enables Xie Wen to unlock its Hunter’s Notes page and obtain another Palico Summoning Ticket Fragment 20.
  • She helps prepare for departure and chooses the raft’s sailing direction. During the voyage, her improved fishing bombs supply the group with flying fish 21 22.

Paper Lantern Town and Escort Work

  • Gangs target Klee and Sanji Meow after mistaking them for valuable Mink Tribe members 24 25.
  • When Bax faces reinforcements, Xie Wen authorizes Klee to intervene. Her bombing defeats the attackers but wrecks the alley, leading to Cody’s compensation-for-escort arrangement 26 27.
  • During the subsequent voyage, Xie Wen creates a bomb-testing workshop on a skiff towed well behind the fleet 34.

Gless Island Trade Fair

  • Capone Family members demand the cats, and Bege later asks Xie Wen to sell them; both attempts fail 36 38.

Trivia

  • Klee Meow is based on Klee from Genshin Impact. The author states that Klee and Jinx were the first candidates considered for the bomber-cat role, with the better-behaved Klee chosen for the early story 16 17.
  • She prefers heroic battle stories—especially those involving fire and explosions—to the fairy tales Xie Wen initially tells her. Sasuke is her favorite character in Naruto the Cat at that point 30.
  • Her two great loves are fried fish and bomb-making; catnip is a pleasant snack rather than a major obsession 21.
  • She proposes naming the crew’s first ship “Toot Toot Forward” before Xie Wen settles on Explorer One 45. The Commission’s later ship bears her proposed name 259 282.
  • Likes giving her bombs names built from repeated words or sounds, including Boom-Booms, Jumpy Dumpty, and Boom-Boom Spark 51.
  • Xie Wen and Sanji Meow sometimes appeal to her luck theatrically, holding her aloft or asking her to bless their search for useful loot and summoning materials 71 727.
  • The Dudu’s Klabautermann resembles Klee by roughly seventy to eighty percent, while also incorporating physical traits associated with several other early Commission members 430.
  • Her habit of retelling stories gradually makes their explosive scenes more elaborate than in Xie Wen’s initial versions 677.
