After Shalmeow and Klee Meow fought Doflamingo, Xie Wen declined Sengoku’s offer to join the Marines and faced Mihawk in a fierce sparring match.

• Xie Wen killed a slave trader who mocked him, then followed Shakky’s map of slave-trader hideouts and fought Rayleigh, enduring the Dark King’s attacks until he parried Rayleigh’s Haki-coated punch.
• Xie Wen and the Palicoes learned that Ace was alive, freed the auction house captives by removing their explosive collars, and destroyed the slave-trading bases across Sabaody.
• Xie Wen visited Marine Headquarters with Robin, where Sengoku offered him three Devil Fruits if he could secure the Shichibukai’s agreement to the deal.
• Doflamingo attacked Xie Wen, but Shalmeow and Klee Meow fought him together, escaped his Birdcage, and left him in a crater after detonating a Gold Rathian.
• Sengoku gave Xie Wen the three Devil Fruits and offered him a secret position in the Marines, but Xie Wen refused and left with the chest.
• Jinbe invited Xie Wen to Fish-Man Island, while Mihawk challenged him to spar, and Xie Wen used Scarlet Sky’s End against Mihawk’s Black Blade Yoru.

After leaving the island, they helped Shalmeow awaken her power on Raijin Island and headed for pirate-filled Bilischirid Island with Shirahoshi determined to meet people on land.

• Xie Wen and the cats examined their Devil Fruits, and Jinx Meow ate the Bomb-Bomb Fruit while Ai Haibara Meow took the katydid fruit for research.
• Xie Wen and his companions reached Fish-Man Island, where Jinbe introduced them to King Neptune and the royal family.
• The Palicoes frightened Shirahoshi in the Hard-Shell Tower, but Klee Meow comforted her and Shalmeow stopped Vander Decken’s sword from reaching her.
• Xie Wen and the cats helped Shirahoshi confront Hody Jones, and she chose to pursue him after learning he had murdered Queen Otohime.
• Shirahoshi joined the Research Commission after deciding she wanted to see the world above, and Xie Wen agreed to protect her.

Shirahoshi grew more confident as Xie Wen’s crew faced pirates and Doflamingo, then gained Suika Meow and prepared for powerful enemies seeking Robin. The crew reached Punk Hazard to investigate its poison gas and found Smiley, which re-formed after their attacks.

• Shirahoshi learned to stand up to prejudice and fight back, while pirates alerted Doflamingo to her presence and he sent Buffalo and Baby 5 after Xie Wen.
• Xie Wen’s crew defeated the pursuing pirates, and Jinx Meow and Robin awakened Haki before Baby 5 and Buffalo were captured.
• Vergo exposed Robin’s identity, but Xie Wen asserted that the World Government had approved her place aboard the ship, and Doflamingo later exchanged two Devil Fruits and two swords for his subordinates.
• Xie Wen summoned Suika Meow, who ate the Density-Density Fruit, while Shirahoshi chose to become a protector and grew more confident dealing with humans.
• Morgans learned Shirahoshi’s identity, Kuma offered the crew Revolutionary Army support, and Big Mom, Kaido, and Ochoku made plans to seize Robin.
• The crew landed on Punk Hazard, searched its facilities for technology, and used Raid Suits and a modified Dial to investigate the island’s persistent poison gas.
• Xie Wen’s group found Smiley, and after Klee Meow’s attacks only scattered and partly burned it, its poison mist restored its body.

Xie Wen and his companions fought off the Big Mom and Beasts Pirates at G-5, then escaped Kaido after Robin was abducted and recovered. Reunited with the crew, Xie Wen learned that Triff had ties to Ochoku and decided to deal with him later.

• Klee Meow trapped Smiley in her flames, and Suika Meow shrank it until Xie Wen assigned it to Ai Haibara Meow, who named it Sherry.
• Suika Meow defeated a fire dragon, and the crew feasted on its meat while Ai Haibara Meow fed dragon dishes to Sherry.
• Xie Wen and his companions drew Punk Hazard’s survivors out, learned about the island’s research, and found the Sakura Dragon Fruit in Building B.
• Xie Wen brought the survivors to Fordyce, then sailed toward the G-5 Branch as Vergo faced approaching crews from the Big Mom and Beasts Pirates.
• Xie Wen and the cats fought Katakuri, Jack, and their officers while Vergo’s Marines attacked, and Xie Wen wounded Katakuri, who escaped with his injured family members.
• Kaido arrived, attacked G-5, and fought Xie Wen and the cats as they escaped aboard the Dudu, but an unknown person abducted Robin from the deck.
• Xie Wen returned to rescue Robin, then drew Kaido away with Sanji Meow while the Toot Toot Forward escaped, and Kaido chased them underwater for a day and night before giving up.
• Xie Wen reunited with his companions, and after the crew learned Triff had served the Blood Thorn Pirates, Xie Wen killed him and obtained a photograph identifying Ochoku as his possible connection.
