Edward investigated Trissy’s troubles, made new bargains, and began a voyage to build a pirate fleet under the name Gehrman Sparrow. After taking the Iron Hook and plundering pirate ships, he returned to the Tarot Club, where he accepted a mission to assassinate Ambassador Beckland Jean Madan.

• Edward rescued Emlyn from Maric and Sharron, then received the Mental Terror Candle from Father Utravsky after Sharron removed the bishop’s evil personality.
• Edward investigated Trissy’s connection to the missing servants at Prince Edessak’s manor, but fled after binding Edessak and feared for Annie’s safety.
• Edwina gave Edward Groselle’s Travels and agreed to help with his sea voyage, while Edward left Danitz at Harvest Church before heading to Bayam with Azik and Lilith.
• Edward learned that Christine had died five years earlier and signed a Contract with Lawrence Nord to investigate her past in exchange for the Scribe and Traveler formulas.
• Edward recruited pirates in Bayam, took the Iron Hook, and killed or spared its crew according to their crimes before using the ship to plunder five pirate vessels.
• Edward abandoned the Iron Hook’s crew with the remaining loot, returned to the Azure Wind inn, and discussed his plans with Danitz and Audrey.

Edward pursued a Card of Blasphemy, confronted Medici, and continued investigating Yuriges while helping Audrey with her searches. He and Audrey sailed for Bansy Harbor, where Trissy’s warning led Edward to suspect the Emerald would capsize that afternoon.

• Edward recruited pirates in Bayam, forced them out of the city, and escaped Sea King Jahn Kottman’s attack after transforming into an Obscurus.
• Edward negotiated with Mr. A and the True Creator, entered the sealed chamber at 8 Williams Street, and met Medici, who offered a counterfeit Card of Blasphemy.
• Edward agreed with Klein to find Yuriges, then joined the Tarot Club’s search for information about the dangerous Beyonder and an ancient castle.
• Edward and Audrey met Will, whom Edward recognized as a Sequence 1 Angel, and later sought Emlyn’s help finding the castle near Backlund.
• Edward and Audrey sailed for Bansy Harbor aboard the Emerald, while Audrey’s brother Hibbert questioned her about traveling with Edward.

Edward searched Bansy for Medici’s descendants, survived a deadly ritual and returned to Backlund with a Reaper characteristic and a growing threat from the True Creator’s followers. As he navigated new alliances and Tarot Club revelations, he entered the Sanguine’s Ancient Castle and was drawn toward a Bronze Gate that spoke in Mr. Door’s voice.

• Edward warned Hibbert Hall of a Demoness Half-God aboard the Emerald, and Archbishop Horamick agreed to protect the ship after Lady Despair Panatiya fled an encounter with another Demoness.
• Edward gave Lilith the Sequence 8 Instigator potion, then traveled with Audrey to Damir Island and learned of Gehrman Sparrow’s exploits and the bounty on him.
• Edward went to Bansy Harbor to search for Medici’s descendants, where he met Verdu and investigated a strange fog that repeatedly reset their surroundings.
• Edward and Verdu uncovered a ritual involving a monstrous aggregate of people, destroyed it, and recovered a black-and-red stone and a broken mirror before a hand reached through a rotten door.
• Edward returned to the Emerald with a Sequence 5 Reaper Beyonder Characteristic, while Klein and Dunn killed Yuriges and learned he had spread the True Creator’s blood while targeting Edward.
• Edward reported Yuriges’s diary and the True Creator’s blood, consulted Will Auceptin, and learned that each drop could help the True Creator locate him.
• Edward joined the Aurora Order temporarily as an undercover agent, while Priscilla joined the Tarot Club as Miss Death and Audrey advanced to Sequence 7.

Edward hunted Botis and Seniors, acquired dangerous allies and secrets, and helped Audrey investigate a suspected Mind Dragon. The Medici Trinity escaped into Priscilla, leaving Edward uncertain what the mark on her forehead meant.

• Edward escaped the ancient hall, buried part of the wraith spirit dust, and Klein investigated a Spirit Dance that raised a zombie before finding strange feathers in a grave.
• Edward met Queen Mystic Bernadette, helped Klein steal Roselle’s Card of Blasphemy, and agreed to translate Roselle’s Diary in return for her help during Backlund’s prophesied disaster.
• Edward joined Mr. A and Bernadette to hunt Botis, survived the battle, and watched Bernadette take Botis and the Box of the Great Old Ones away.
• Edward traveled with Alger and Danitz to the Pirate Gathering, defeated Seniors after he possessed Danitz, and helped Danitz ignite the harbor, completing Danitz’s potion digestion.
• Edward captured Tracy and rescued Helene, then fought Seniors’s fleet with Edwina and Danitz before Shanks’s curse and possession nearly drove him out of control.
• Ouroboros took the Little Man from Shanks and gave it to Edward, while Edward later delivered Helene’s blood to Medici and agreed to find blood from a direct descendant of Einhorn.
