Background / History

Myriad Sword Pavilion was established at Myriad Sword Mountain by its founding ancestor, who chose the site because of the extraordinary sword hidden at the core of what later became the Myriad Sword Tomb. Its stated purpose was to educate and protect Yunzhou, and generations of its sword cultivators left behind powerful sword intent that became part of the sect’s foundation. 143 146

Over time, the pavilion became Yunzhou’s undisputed martial-arts authority. It exercised influence over affiliated sects, including the Nine-story Sword Tower, and used the Sword Ascension Gathering to determine ownership of mines, trade routes, county revenues, and other resources for ten-year periods. 67 91

The pavilion’s deepest political safeguard was the Vein Sealing Sword Realm, an ancestral formation built using Sword Bones and Life Divine Weapons as formation eyes. The realm concealed heavenly secrets, sealed Yunzhou’s dragon veins, and locked the province’s destiny under the pavilion’s control. 144

Its decline began when Lu Shaoyou destroyed the Nine-story Sword Tower, publicly rejected the pavilion’s authority, and turned the Sword Ascension Gathering into a direct challenge to its rule. Conflict with Lu Shaoyou

After the Nine-story Sword Tower and Qingyun Sect were targeted, Liu Qingxuan judged that Lu Shaoyou was deliberately provoking the pavilion. Rather than launch an immediate assault, she chose to summon him to the Sword Ascension Gathering, where the pavilion could confront him on its own ground. 87 90

Jian Wuchen personally delivered the Sword Ascension Token in Jiannan City. Lu Shaoyou rejected the pavilion’s authority, called the invitation worthless, and sent the token back with enough force to stagger Jian Wuchen and his Azure Feather Eagle. 87 88

The pavilion then circulated an Imprint Stone of Lu Shaoyou’s destruction of Crimson Flame Valley to incite public anger against him. Liu Qingxuan realized that this effort had backfired: Lu Shaoyou was using the fear it generated to isolate the pavilion from its allies. 96

Sword Ascension Gathering

Liu Qingxuan expanded the gathering into a public demonstration of Myriad Sword Pavilion’s strength, inviting outside sects to witness Lu Shaoyou’s intended defeat. 101

The plan collapsed when the Wuwang Sword Master was defeated and beheaded by Lu Shaoyou. His death provoked the pavilion’s disciples, while Liu Qingxuan entered the black arena with the Jinghong Sword to avenge her uncle-master. 117 118 119

Liu Qingxuan’s breakthrough caused the phenomenon of Myriad Swords Pay Homage, with swords throughout Myriad Sword City rising in response to her Sword Intent. Despite this, her battle with Lu Shaoyou remained unresolved before the pavilion’s ancient Sword Master intervened. 123 127

Myriad Sword Tomb Collapse

Venerable Monk Liao Chen proposed that Lu Shaoyou enter the Myriad Sword Tomb to prove that his Demon Buddha cultivation had not corrupted his heart. The Sword Master agreed and added the tomb’s ancient divine weapons as a stake. 132 133

Inside, Lu Shaoyou absorbed Sword Souls and resentment to strengthen his Divine Soul, completed the deduction of the fifteenth layer of the Dragon-Elephant Prajna Skill, and condensed a Dragon-Elephant Dharma Aspect. 135 136

The breakthrough awakened the tomb’s defenses and the World-Ending Demonic Sword. Lu Shaoyou eventually destroyed the demonic sword, reached the hidden sword valley, and retrieved the ancient bronze sword at the tomb’s core, causing Myriad Sword Mountain and the tomb itself to collapse. 137 139 142

Imperial Subjugation

The Sword Master broke the terms of the tomb wager and ambushed Lu Shaoyou in an attempt to seize the retrieved sword. Two more Spirit Connecting Realm experts joined the attack. 143

The Qian Emperor intervened after the Vein Sealing Sword Realm was threatened. He entered the pavilion, subdued its accumulated ancestral sword intent, took the Heavenly Inquiry Sword, and sentenced the three ancient Sword Masters to exile in the Demon Abyss. 144 146

Liu Qingxuan was appointed a Captain in the Azure Luan Army and ordered to earn a marquisate before she could reclaim the Heavenly Inquiry Sword. The pavilion surrendered its treasury and personnel roster during the subsequent cleansing of Yunzhou. 147 149
