  • Yahiko decided to seek financial help from Kane Penter and left the Land of Rain, placing Nagato in charge of protecting the Akatsuki.
  • Obito ordered White Zetsu to impersonate Akatsuki members and attack Hanzō's trusted subordinates so Hanzō would strike the Akatsuki's secret camp.

  • Tsunade confirmed her pregnancy and decided not to end the child's life, resolving to visit Shikkotsu Forest for support.
  • Karn met Yahiko at the Daimyo's Mansion while caring for Naruto and agreed to provide the Akatsuki with fifty million ryo.
  • Karn directed Yahiko to the Daimyo's Mansion's Mission Department, where the Akatsuki could take construction missions in the Land of Fire.
  • Yahiko collected the money, received a sealing scroll, and bought more than twenty million ryo's worth of supplies for the Akatsuki.
  • Yahiko returned to the Land of Rain and heard terrible news before he could tell Nagato and the others about the funding.

Ch. 231Jiraiya took action

Jiraiya secretly returned to Konoha and told Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shikaku Nara about the human experiments and weaponized creations at the Karn Chamber of Commerce’s facility in the Land of Tea. He proposed that Minato Namikaze help them leave the village to investigate, while he planned to approach Tsunade again.

  • Hanzō captured Konan, demanded that Yahiko and Nagato meet him alone, and arranged for Danzo’s Root to attack Akatsuki’s camp again.
  • Obito Uchiha learned that Yahiko had died and decided to proceed with his plan, while Black Zetsu worried that Obito was resisting Madara Uchiha’s control.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi and Shikaku Nara discussed the risks of Nawaki’s domestic-mission policy and Konoha’s declining combat readiness.

Ch. 232Tsunade was brought back

Tsunade borrowed money from Xia Chuan while trying to hide her pregnancy from Karn, then refused Jiraiya’s request to help investigate Karn’s experiments. Xia Chuan informed Karn, who found Tsunade and brought her to his residence, while Jiraiya joined Minato Namikaze and Hiruzen Sarutobi without her.

  • Minato Namikaze brought Hiruzen Sarutobi and the others out of the village, while Jiraiya said Tsunade would eventually support their cause.

Ch. 233Facing Biochemical Zombies

Jiraiya, Hiruzen Sarutobi, Minato Namikaze, and Shikaku Nara led a Konoha force to infiltrate the Karn Chamber of Commerce base, unaware Karn had activated its Biochemical Mechanical Warriors. The squad entered too easily and encountered grotesque Pure Bioweapons, leaving them on the verge of a fight.

  • Jiraiya briefed the group on the base, and Minato Namikaze led sensory ninja to investigate it while the others waited nearby.
  • Shennong warned Karn that Mount Myōboku toads were probing the base, so Karn ordered Red Queen to awaken the Biochemical Mechanical Warriors and gather combat data.
  • Shikaku Nara divided the Konoha force into five squads, and they infiltrated the base after finding unusually few guards.
  • Red Queen detected the intruders and released Pure Bioweapons to ambush them and collect data on their abilities.
  • Shikaku Nara, Jiraiya, Minato Namikaze, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and the others saw massive, grotesque creatures approach them.

Ch. 234Heavy losses

Shikaku Nara’s team was overwhelmed by infectious Biochemical Zombies and Biochemical Mechanical Warriors, while Jiraiya’s force was trapped under heavy fire. Karn learned that Jiraiya, Shikaku Nara, and the others had been killed, though Minato Namikaze and Hiruzen Sarutobi disappeared during the attack.

  • Shikaku Nara restrained the zombies, but they healed rapidly, and Yamanaka Ryo’s attempt to control one infected him with its savage instincts.
  • Sarutobi Shi was seized and badly bitten, while Lickers and more zombies surrounded Shikaku’s group; Shikaku later realized the infection had spread through his wounds.
  • Shennong watched the battle as Red Queen deployed five squads of Biochemical Mechanical Warriors, and the survivors’ condition worsened.
  • Minato Namikaze rescued Shikaku Nara and brought him to Jiraiya’s position, where hundreds of Biochemical Mechanical Warriors attacked and Gamaken was killed by laser fire.
  • Shikaku urged Jiraiya’s group to flee, but Karn’s shadow clone struck them with a massive lightning bolt; Minato Namikaze and Hiruzen Sarutobi vanished, while the others died.
  • Karn reviewed the report in Kawaki Town, then joined Tsunade after she found him outside.

Ch. 235Mount Myōboku's Decisiveness

  • Hiruzen Sarutobi and Minato Namikaze returned to Konoha after recovering, and Hiruzen went to inform the Nara Clan that Shikaku Nara had died.
  • Hiruzen Sarutobi filed a death report and funeral application that concealed the deaths of Shikaku Nara, Sarutobi clansmen, and many elite ninjas.
  • Orochimaru dismissed the reports blaming Root and suspected that Minato's recent mission had ended in heavy losses; he planned to ask someone about it and considered Karn's involvement.

Ch. 236Reforms in the Land of Fire

Karn arranged for Nonō to help Tsunade with her pregnancy, then discussed the deaths and surviving threats from the attack with Orochimaru. Back in the Land of Fire, Karn pursued sweeping reforms and continued using his allies and captives to advance his plans.

  • Karn sent word about his return and discussed the Pent Group’s gains from Wakanda, including vibranium and a heart-shaped herb sample.
  • Laura told Karn that Obadiah wanted to meet; Karn arranged to see him at the Pent Group’s energy production plant and planned to crush his remaining hopes.
  • JARVIS told Tony Stark that he suspected the Pent Group had its own artificial intelligence, and Tony ordered him to investigate its executives.
  • Tony dismissed Pepper Potts’s concerns about Stark Industries and assured her that the company would not collapse.

Ch. 238Making trouble for Stark

Karn persuaded Obadiah Stane to help him take control of Stark Industries by offering advanced technology, a superhuman enhancement program, and a future for the company’s weapons division. Obadiah returned to undermine the company, while Karn asked Betty to monitor the takeover and planned to meet with a brother and sister seeking revenge on Tony Stark.

  • Karn showed Obadiah Stane the Pent Group’s Arc Reactor and advanced armor research, convincing him that Stark Industries could not compete.
  • Karn offered Obadiah a deal: help him acquire half of Stark Industries’ shares and control the company in exchange for benefits and a guaranteed physical enhancement program.
  • Obadiah accepted and returned to use his influence at Stark Industries to drive down its stock price and help Karn prepare a takeover.
  • Karn told Betty about the plan and asked her to keep watch over Stark Industries as she recovered from the Extremis Virus Serum.
  • Betty said a brother and sister still wanted revenge, and Karn planned to speak with them the next day.

Ch. 239Wanda and her brother's battle suits

Karn gave Wanda and Pietro nanoparticle protective suits and prepared them to take revenge on Tony Stark, while Nick Fury reconsidered Steve Rogers’s role in the Avengers. At Stark Industries, Obadiah used the Pent Group’s new energy announcement to pressure Pepper into supporting the weapons division’s return.

  • Karn took Wanda and Pietro to the underground hive and gave each of them a Nano Sprint-Assist Protective Suit.
  • Wanda found her suit too revealing, so Karn deactivated it and arranged for researchers to adjust its fit.
  • Nick Fury learned Steve Rogers was still catching up on the modern world and ordered that he receive level-five clearance while asking to speak with Coulson.
  • Obadiah told Pepper that the Pent Group’s civilian-ready Arc Reactor technology threatened Stark Industries and urged her to restart its weapons division.
  • Pepper worried Tony would oppose the plan and hurried to tell him.

Ch. 240S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Operation Is Thwarted

After Tony Stark was kidnapped, S.H.I.E.L.D. failed to find him and Obadiah pushed to sell Stark Industries to the Pent Group. S.H.I.E.L.D. then tried to question Karn, but General Ross intervened and forced the agents to let Karn and Betty pass.

  • Pepper learned that Tony Stark had been kidnapped, while S.H.I.E.L.D. found a video revealing his identity but could not trace its upload or locate him.
  • Obadiah used Tony's disappearance to rally Stark Industries' directors behind the Pent Group's acquisition, while S.H.I.E.L.D. arrived and took him in for questioning on suspicion of conspiring to kidnap Tony.
  • Pepper challenged the proposed sale and took over much of Stark Industries' affairs, but the directors said they would proceed unless evidence connected Obadiah to the kidnapping.
  • Karn rode with Betty toward Thaddeus Ross's home, where S.H.I.E.L.D. agents stopped them and demanded that they cooperate with an investigation.
  • Karn called Thaddeus Ross, who threatened S.H.I.E.L.D. with military force, and Agent Hill ordered the agents to clear the road.

Ch. 241Acquiring Stark Industries

Karn and Betty backed Thaddeus Ross’s presidential ambitions while Pietro and Wanda held Tony Stark captive and forced him to confess to the harm Stark Industries had caused Sokovia. S.H.I.E.L.D. found Tony after his captors released him, while Obadiah and the Stark Industries board moved ahead with the Pent Group acquisition.

  • Thaddeus Ross complained about S.H.I.E.L.D.’s actions, and Karn and Betty agreed to support Ross’s presidential campaign through the Pent Group.
  • Pietro and Wanda accused Tony Stark of profiting from weapons used in Sokovia and demanded that he repent, keeping him captive until he agreed.
  • S.H.I.E.L.D. released Obadiah after facing a reprimand and demotions, and Obadiah warned Pepper Potts that Stark Industries would pursue the Pent Group acquisition.
  • A month later, Stark Industries stripped Tony of his authority and chose Obadiah to lead the company as the acquisition plan proceeded.
  • Pietro and Wanda released Tony after his confession video spread online, and S.H.I.E.L.D. tracked him to Pennsylvania and arrived with Rhodey and Nick Fury.

Ch. 242Inviting Pepper Potts

  • Ron and Harry asked Hermione about the graduation ball, and Hermione advised Harry to prepare for the Auror examination.
  • Phil told Hermione that Karn had returned; Hermione planned to tell him her graduation ball was in three days.
  • Karn praised Kettle's management of the shop, ordered him to organize a large purchase of Magical Creatures, and asked him to establish a wizard guard force.
  • Karn asked Kettle to contact Minister for Magic Luwen Amoto about acquiring creatures on the prohibited list, and Pheobe stayed behind to greet Karn.

Ch. 244Godfather

After Tom’s capture, Karn attended Hogwarts’ graduation ball with Hermione and planned a trip with her to explore ancient magical ruins. They returned to Diagon Alley and prepared to leave for America, while Pheobe sought a private moment with Karn.

  • Pheobe entered Karn’s room late at night, locked the door, and turned off the lights with Wandless Magic.

Ch. 245A rich haul of magical knowledge

Karn and Hermione traveled to Ilvermorny and then across Ancient Greece, Egypt, and Africa, collecting magical books and artifacts while Hermione grew much stronger. After returning to Britain, Hermione joined the Ministry of Magic, Kettle nearly completed his search for magical creatures, and Karn prepared to return to the Marvel Universe.

  • Pheobe told Karn that Hermione had given her milk that put her to sleep, and Karn agreed to speak with Hermione before deciding to leave with her that afternoon.

  • At Ilvermorny, Karn copied unfamiliar books on warlocks and occultism, donated books to the school, and took Hermione sightseeing.
  • Near Delos Island, Karn and Hermione uncovered Mopsus's hidden chamber and later found sites connected to other legendary wizards, gathering books and notes from Mopsus, Calchas, and Andros.
  • After more than half a year abroad, Karn and Hermione returned to Britain; Hermione joined the Ministry of Magic, Kettle had nearly finished acquiring magical creatures, and Karn enhanced Pheobe before preparing to return to the Marvel Universe.

Ch. 246The possibility of godhood

After studying Calchas's mysticism, Karn discovered that his affinity for lightning and fire might let him pursue godhood through nature, and he began adjusting how his body absorbed energy. The Ancient One invited him to Kamar-Taj, but Karn accepted without setting a date because he planned to visit the pirate world first.

  • Karn used Calchas's survey circle to observe Earth's magical defenses and natural energies, then redirected his body's absorption toward electricity and fire.
  • Karn realized his affinity for lightning and flames could offer a path to becoming a rule-based god, and considered whether fire energy could become Superman's bioelectric aura.
  • Karn brought Isaac to the manor and assigned him to maintain it while staying within the Protective Charm.
  • The Ancient One asked Mordo to invite Karn to Kamar-Taj to exchange magical knowledge.
  • Karn settled the magical creatures in the underground hive and saw Red Queen's mechanical guards and weapons being prepared.
  • Mordo delivered the Ancient One's invitation, and Karn said he would visit when he had time before planning his trip to the pirate world.

Luffy freed Gin and other pirate slaves in Alabasta, prompting a mobilization order and forcing the Straw Hats to prepare to leave. After confirming Luffy was responsible, Vivi set out to capture him and his crew.

  • Luffy said he wanted to find Vivi for a promised meal, while Nami and Zoro warned him that freeing Gin could make the Straw Hats wanted.
  • Usopp claimed nobody had seen Luffy free Gin, but Alabasta guards soon reported that a straw-hatted man had freed pirate slaves and began searching for the culprits.

  • Robin asked Baby-5 to deal with the rioting pirates, and Baby-5 went to suppress them with her weapons.
  • Alabasta’s Guard Team used rifles, rockets, and grenades to stop a pirate assault, while Vivi defeated pirates attacking the port with her battle armor and beam cannons.
  • Baby-5 stopped Gin and more than a thousand pirates from reaching Rainbase as they tried to rescue Krieg.
  • Alabasta’s forces quelled the riots, blockaded the ports, and searched for escaped pirates; Robin learned that only a little over three thousand slaves remained.
  • Karn returned with desserts, and Robin explained that the riots had greatly reduced the number of pirate slaves.

Ch. 249Adjustments

Karn returned to the Karn Chamber of Commerce and gave Nico Robin orders on pirate slaves, Poneglyph searches, technology negotiations, and retaliation against the Kuja Pirates. As the Ark Maxim and an airship departed on separate missions, Marine Captain Hina began searching for the Straw Hat Pirates and reported the ships’ movements to headquarters.

  • Karn told Nico Robin to send severely injured pirate slaves to his underground laboratory and directed her to search Wano Country and the Mink Tribe for Poneglyphs.
  • Karn refused the World Government’s request for the Ark Maxim’s technology unless it offered a Logia Devil Fruit, and ordered the Kuja Pirates to pay five times the value of the stolen shipment or face bombardment.
  • Karn arranged to trade weapons to Fish-Man Island for Sea Kings, then left with Baby 5 and later sold Vivi nano battle armor in exchange for payment and an IOU.
  • The Karn Chamber of Commerce sent an airship toward Sky Island to deliver supplies and recruit Wiper and the other Shandia warriors.
  • Hina ordered Marines to search for the Straw Hat Pirates and report their actions to headquarters after learning they had incited a pirate-slave riot in Alabasta.
  • Hina learned that the Ark Maxim and the Karn Chamber of Commerce airship had departed in different directions and told headquarters to track them.

  • Vice Admiral Mole identified the attacking vessel as the Ark Maxim and told Sengoku he had arrived too late to stop the bombardment.

Ch. 251On the eve of the Shichibukai clash

After bombing much of Amazon Lily, the Magician’s side halted the attack and demanded compensation and a public apology, prompting Boa Hancock to set sail in anger. The Marines sent Aokiji toward Alabasta to prevent a clash, while Nico Robin prepared missiles and grenade launchers to confront the Kuja Pirates.

  • Granny Nyon warned Boa Hancock that she could not safely reach the Ark Maxim, and the bombing left more than half of Amazon Lily in ruins.
  • The Ark Maxim stopped its attack and dropped compensation demands; after learning the Magician had returned, Boa Hancock ordered the Kuja Pirates to sail.
  • Vice Admiral Mole reported Hancock’s departure to Sengoku, who sent Aokiji to Alabasta to try to intervene.
  • Aokiji reached the Marine Branch in Alabasta, received details from Hina, and left to speak with the Magician if possible.
  • Nico Robin learned that the Kuja Pirates had left Amazon Lily and prepared God series missiles and P-3 Series Grenade Launchers for a weapons demonstration.

Ch. 252The empress's crushing defeat

Aokiji met Karn in Alabasta and agreed not to interfere unless ordered, while Boa Hancock refused to reconsider her attack. The Karn Chamber of Commerce’s weapons devastated the Kuja Pirates, and Karn struck again with Raigo as Hancock remained defiant.

  • Aokiji visited Karn and accepted his argument that the Marines could let the clash test Boa Hancock’s strength, though he said he would intervene if Headquarters ordered him to.
  • Boa Hancock rejected Gandamaru’s doubts and ordered the Kuja Pirates to hurry to Alabasta so she could confront Karn.
  • As the Kuja Pirates neared Alabasta, God Missiles and thousands of shells struck their ship, killing and injuring members of the crew and destroying the vessel.
  • Drone footage showed Boa Hancock surviving the bombardment but still glaring toward Alabasta, prompting Karn to warn Aokiji that she would not accept defeat.
  • Karn unleashed Raigo over the sea, disabling the drones with the massive lightning strike as Aokiji recognized his formidable Devil Fruit skill.
