"We're done for, we're done for!"

Willis was still grieving over the lost money when he saw two missiles shooting toward them from behind.

He huddled in a corner, clutching his seat belt as though it were the only thing that could give him any sense of security.

"Jason... I'm sorry. Katherine, I'll never stop you from doing meth again."

Lynn floored the accelerator and shifted up, sending the taxi's speed soaring.

"Batman, you think these missiles can make us surrender?"

Bastard, don't underestimate a player!

Lynn tightened his grip on the steering wheel and immediately used a character card.

[Character card: Takumi Fujiwara (the 86 climbs the mountain; the Mercedes climbs a tree)] [Note: The true driving god of Mount Akina. Use your AE86's gutter turn to make your opponents eat your exhaust!]

Almost instantly, Lynn felt himself change. Images of driving-and an uncle driving up a tree-flooded his mind.

At that moment, he even felt that he wasn't driving a taxi, but an AE86!

Screeech!!

The tires kept skidding, letting out piercing squeals.

Lynn executed a gutter turn, swinging the rear end out and sliding beautifully around the corner.

Boom!!

The missiles slammed into the concrete, exploding violently and filling the air with smoke.

His expression calm, Lynn shifted gears, hit the accelerator, and cranked the wheel, racing through Gotham's streets and alleys like the driving god of Mount Akina himself.

Batman felt certain that whoever was driving ahead of him couldn't possibly be human.

Could you imagine a battered taxi outrunning the Batmobile he'd spent millions of dollars modifying?

Not only that, the taxi could even drive along walls.

Wasn't that a little too overpowered?

As the gap between them widened, Batman gradually lost sight of the battered taxi ahead.

"Hahaha... Batman, so even you can look this helpless and furious."

The Joker's mocking laughter came from behind him.

"I'll catch him, Joker." Batman stopped the Batmobile, turned around, and drove toward Arkham Asylum.

"And you... I'll lock you in Arkham Asylum, and you'll never get out again."

"Heehee, I'm just going back for another rest. Besides... are you really not going to consider letting me join the Bat Gang?"

The Joker asked with keen interest. He was very intrigued by this Bat Gang.

Why hadn't he thought of it before?

Batman was the boss of the biggest gang in Gotham.

Batman stared straight ahead, his face expressionless.

"You actually believe what he said?"

The Joker grinned.

"Hey, buddy, whether he was telling the truth or not, the Bat Gang is definitely going to show up in Gotham. Before long, there might be a bunch of impostors dressed just like you running wild in the streets."

Cold rain fell from the clouds, pattering sharply against the taxi.

"He didn't follow us."

Lynn stopped the taxi, took a deep breath, then let it out slowly, a smile spreading across his face.

He'd thought the Joker and Batman would be as all-powerful as they were in the comics from his previous life.

But judging by today, they weren't all that impressive.

Batman, Joker, here in Gotham, you're nothing but a couple of... little girls.

Now that he'd shaken Batman off, all he had to do was follow Willis home to complete that side quest.

"Dinosaur War God, let's go. Back to your place."

Lynn turned to look behind him, only to find Willis curled up in his seat, trembling, his face filled with despair.

"What's wrong?" He froze in surprise.

Had Batman shot this guy?

"The money... our money's gone!"

Willis raised his head, his haggard face full of dejection and his eyes bloodshot.

"We risked our lives to steal that money from the Joker, and now it's all gone!"

"Oh, I thought it was something serious. That's nothing."

Lynn waved a hand, restarted the engine, shifted into gear, and pressed the accelerator.

"I've still got a hundred thousand dollars or so on me. That's enough."

As he spoke, the taxi slowly pulled away and headed down the dark street.

"So, where do you live?"

"You really have money?" Willis stared incredulously at the man in the bear mask before him.

"Of course. Didn't I tell you I'm a player? Have you ever seen a broke player?" Lynn replied.

Willis lowered his head and thought it over.

This guy wasn't quite right in the head, but all he could do now was take the gamble.

After all, if he didn't bring any money home today, the Two-Face Gang would probably hack the entire Todd family to death tomorrow.

Maybe he really did have money.

"By the way, what were you planning to do with the money?" Lynn asked.

Willis gave Lynn directions as he answered:

"I'm a member of the Two-Face Gang. I went out robbing this time not just to help support my family, but also to make enough money to pay off my debt to Two-Face."

"Jason got seriously ill a while back, and his surgery cost a fortune. His mom and I aren't exactly good people, but Jason is our son. We brought him into this world, so we're responsible for him."

"So I borrowed a large sum from Two-Face and took Jason to Gotham Hospital for surgery."

As they spoke, Lynn drove Willis to an old, badly neglected apartment building.

A thick stench hung in the air. Luckily, Lynn's bear mask could filter the air, or he would have been poisoned to death already.

They were near Gotham's industrial district, surrounded by slums. Homeless people and petty thugs lined both sides of the street.

He could even see a man and a woman conducting an illegal transaction on a street corner.

Lynn got out of the car with Willis and walked to the apartment building.

The building before them had peeling walls and aging pipes, and frequently suffered water and power outages.

"Keep going with what you were saying, then tell me about your family."

Lynn was in a great mood. The rewards from completing two quests in a row were enough to let him live comfortably for a while.

"Let's talk in that alley instead. It's not a good place to talk here."

Siliwei

As he spoke, he walked into the alley beside the apartment building, and Lynn followed him.

Leaning against the cold wall, Willis looked forlorn.

"Jason's surgery left our family owing Two-Face a huge amount of money. And it wasn't until Jason got sick that my wife and I realized how much we'd let him down."

"So ever since then, we've wanted to buy our kid the best of everything. But my wife does meth, and I don't have much of an education, so I can't find a decent job. Money's really tight at home."

"Is that why you started working for Two-Face?" Lynn guessed.

Willis nodded. "That's right."

"Then how much do you owe Two-Face?" Lynn asked.

"There's just a hundred thousand dollars left."

Lynn: "..."

He had exactly a hundred and twenty thousand dollars. Should he give it to him or not?
