Chapter 111: Explosion × Hisoka × Breaking Away
The winding road up Kansi Mountain stretched 137 kilometers.
They had not run there. After leaving the airship terminal, they had rented two cars and sped all the way over.
Palm's ability was already active. As her blood dripped onto the Mermaid Skull Crystal Ball, Killua's figure slowly appeared on it.
But it offered very little information. The image showed only the interior of a car with its windows shaded, with occasional glimpses of trees flashing past outside.
There was no way to determine the car's exact location from such monotonous surroundings.
Palm's ability could not pull the view back, either, so they could only drive along the winding mountain road.
Still, no one complained. Following the traces Hisoka had left to this place and more or less confirming that they were on the same route as Killua already meant the Extermination Team had not come for nothing.
Joey held his fingers beside his lips. He was not biting his nails, but waiting for word from Knuckle and the others.
Waiting for the people targeting him to appear.
There was little traffic on the mountain road to begin with. Seven or eight minutes into their ascent, Joey's phone rang.
But along with his phone came the sudden sound of an explosion farther down the road.
Joey ignored the explosion and answered the call.
"Three Mafia cars have headed up the mountain. We can't confirm whether they're after you, but the people inside are all armed." Knuckle's voice came through the phone. "Before them, an off-road vehicle went up. A man and a woman inside looked like they were out on a picnic. Last was a truck carrying logs."
"Understood." As Joey spoke, he got out with the others. "You can start moving."
