"One more important point: helping me is a commission between you and me. It has little to do with the Hunter Association. I hope you understand that."
Kurapika looked at Mizaistom beside him, and Mizaistom picked up the conversation at just the right moment. "I'll arrange your position within the Hunter Association. I've already spoken to Cheadle, too, so you don't need to worry about that."
Joey summed it up. "So I work for Kurapika, and the Association pays me?"
"You could put it that way." Mizaistom nodded. "Until we reach the Dark Continent, that's how it'll work."
"You want to keep employing me after we arrive?" Joey frowned.
"That's right. Your ability, working together with Cluck's, could play an even greater role on the Dark Continent. That's the conclusion the Zodiac reached after discussing it." Mizaistom offered another proposal that surprised Joey.
Joey lowered his head in thought, then looked up. "If my information is correct, Beyond's route passes through Labyrinth City, right?"
Mizaistom's gaze visibly flickered. "That's highly classified information. So far, only the Crossing the Great Lake Commission and the Zodiac even know about it!"
"No, that information isn't as classified as you think." Joey flatly denied it.
He did not reveal his source, however.
Instead, he asked another question. "What would I get out of it?"
"Traveling with the Association is the safest option. Wealth, fame, status-the Association can provide all of those." Mizaistom laid out what he had to offer.
But none of those things appealed to Joey.
Still, he was in no hurry to refuse. "Let's reach the Dark Continent first."
Mizaistom nodded and did not pursue the subject.
He already understood Joey's answer. So what did Joey want?
