There were two methods. One was to awaken Inuyasha's demon blood, then pull out his sharper teeth while he was transformed and use them to reforge Tessaiga.
Dog fangs in that state should meet the requirements.
They were, after all, teeth approaching the level of a great demon.
But there was a problem that required caution: once the current Inuyasha transformed, he would be uncontrollable and might well lose his reason entirely and attack everyone around him. Even if Kagome activated the Subjugation Beads, she might not be able to restrain him completely.
Considering that Inuyasha, with his demon blood awakened, could send the mountain-sized Ryūkotsusei flying with one swipe of his claws, and even break through his defenses to some extent.
His overall attributes and combined strength were probably more than ten times those of his half-demon form.
They could even be dozens or a hundred times greater.
Against an Inuyasha like that, his strength absolutely could not be judged solely by his four-and-a-half-star demon power.
Thus, this option was inadvisable unless there was absolutely no other choice.
The other way to resolve Tessaiga's excessive weight was to borrow the power of the Shikon Jewel.
The demon power of the Shikon Jewel or a Shikon Shard could cause any bone to develop signs of "bone overgrowth."
While controlled by Naraku, Kohaku could draw considerable demon power from the Shikon Shard in the back of his neck; that shard's demon power could make the Demon Slayers' weapons, crafted from demon bone, grow longer and thicker, or even spread and change shape like tree roots.
And Tessaiga had been forged primarily from the Dog General's fang.
Naturally, the demon power of a Shikon Shard could cause bone overgrowth in the Dog General's tooth as well.
However, there was another problem: could
