• Inuyasha struggled against Kirinmaru’s relentless attacks until Sesshomaru used Meido Zangetsuha to divert the Explosive Shattering Spear Break away from him.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru received portions of Tōga’s power, giving Sesshomaru the strength to face Kirinmaru and allowing Tōga to guide Inuyasha in battle. As the brothers fought among the falling stars, the Princess of the Immortals wondered whether she too should seek a human partner.

• Inuyasha awakened more of his demon power with Izayoi’s lipstick, while Tenseiga split Tōga’s power between him and Sesshomaru.
• Sesshomaru’s aura surged as a gigantic blue-and-white cloud dog formed behind him, and Kirinmaru recognized Tōga’s power.
• Inuyasha wielded Sōunga through Tōga’s fiery-red energy form, destroying the falling stars as Tōga coached him on fighting Kirinmaru.
• Tōga explained Kirinmaru’s abilities and urged Inuyasha to treat the battle as a chance to hone himself rather than focus on winning.
• Shirō taunted the Princess of the Immortals, who retorted that she had once been with Tōga and privately wondered why she could not seek a human partner too.

After defeating Kirinmaru, Li Xia realized the loss had driven him toward despair because he believed his chance to resurrect Rion was gone. Li Xia and Sesshomaru offered to help, and Kirinmaru reluctantly turned back to seek their aid.

• Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, and their father defeated Kirinmaru, who feared he had lost his chance to resurrect Rion and might eventually destroy the world.
• Li Xia asked Myōga about Rion and explained his suspicion that Kirinmaru had fought to bring his daughter back to life.
• Li Xia asked Sesshomaru to use Tenseiga to resurrect Rion, and Sesshomaru agreed.
• Harun caught up with Kirinmaru and invited him to return to the Celestial Cloud Palace to discuss resurrecting Rion.

Sesshomaru used Tenseiga to destroy the Underworld Messengers around Rion, but her damaged Demon Heart kept her from being fully revived. Li Xia offered Kirinmaru another way to save her: use Rion’s revitalized blood to cultivate a replacement Demon Heart, leaving Kirinmaru with renewed hope.

• Sesshomaru used Tenseiga to slay the Underworld Messengers, but Rion’s returning vitality began to fade.
• Kirinmaru and Shirō despaired over Rion’s condition, while Sesshomaru explained that Tenseiga could not fully revive someone whose Demon Heart had been destroyed.
• Li Xia asked Kirinmaru whether Rion’s Demon Heart was damaged, and Sesshomaru confirmed that its destruction prevented a complete resurrection.

Li Xia and Kagome parted from Inuyasha, who chose to pursue his dream of becoming a great demon without relying on the Shikon Jewel. As Li Xia and Kagome traveled away, they discussed Inuyasha’s feelings and worried over how Kikyo’s possible revival might affect their relationship.

• Li Xia asked Inuyasha what he planned to do, and Inuyasha said he would train to become a great demon like Tōga.
• Li Xia offered Inuyasha the Shikon Jewel’s power or other help, but Inuyasha refused and wished Li Xia and Kagome happiness before leaving.

Three months after returning to Mount Penglai, Li Xia helped Kikyo reunite with her soul and awaken in a cloned body, with Kagome’s consent. Kikyo joined Li Xia and Kagome in his arms, leaving him hoping the moment was not a dream.

After returning from the Sengoku Era, Li Xia reunited with Kagome and Kikyo and their combative infant daughters, then discussed the Higurashi family's future with them. He reassured Kagome that even if Grandpa Higurashi and Higurashi's Mother could not become Immortals, he would find another path to extend their lives.

• Li Xia returned to Sunset Shrine with Kagome and Kikyo and playfully embraced their daughters, Li Yaoyao and Li Qinghan, who were fighting and haughtily dodged his kisses.
• Kagome asked Higurashi's Mother and Grandpa Higurashi whether the little girls had caused trouble while she and Li Xia were away.
• At dinner, Li Xia and Kagome urged Grandpa Higurashi and Higurashi's Mother to try cultivation methods that could help them become human Immortals, and they agreed to give them a try.

Li Xia met the Star God, also called Tenshin-ō, and agreed to aid him in exchange for guidance on surpassing human limits. Wary of being caught in the god’s conflict with Takamagahara, Li Xia moved his family and assets to the continent and arrived at Mount Longhu to stay with Li Qin and Li Yang.

• Li Xia set out for the continent but was stopped by a Light Gate, from which the Star God emerged.
• The Star God explained his conflict with Takamagahara’s chief gods and revealed that he had secretly recruited promising allies such as Kirinmaru.
• Li Xia agreed to make one all-out effort for Tenshin-ō within his capabilities, and the god promised to fulfill one request about advancing beyond humanity’s limits.
• After the Star God departed, Li Xia feared the consequences of becoming useless to him and decided to move his family somewhere beyond Tenshin-ō’s reach.
• Li Xia took Kagome, Kikyo, his daughters, and the others to the continent, then traveled to Mount Longhu to stay with Li Qin and Li Yang.
• At Mount Longhu, Li Xia sensed two powerful presences beneath the earth and realized they were tamed Spirit Beasts.
