| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| High-rank, Planet-Destroying Rank specimen | 22 23 25 | Several times larger than the Doomsday Beast encountered in Lin Feng’s earlier simulation, with greater strength and attack speed. The station’s defensive firepower barely scorches its armor. |
| Enhanced berserk state | 26 | After losing its armor and suffering severe spinal damage, develops a crimson glow and becomes stronger and more frenzied. Welt considers either a blessing from Nanook or a biological weapon’s full-power mechanism; neither explanation is confirmed. |
Background / History
Delayed attack on Herta Space Station
In Lin Feng’s previous Path Simulations, the Doomsday Beast attacked late on the night of his arrival. In the current simulation, it does not arrive until the following morning. Lin Feng suspects that his actions have altered the expected course of events, but cannot identify the cause 17 19.
The beast’s arrival violently shakes Herta Space Station and triggers evacuation orders. Lin Feng refuses to leave because departing the region would end his current simulation and because Asta remains aboard. March 7th accompanies him, prompting Himeko to bring the Astral Express crew to the Starrail Platform to intercept the attacker 19 20 21.
Battle at the Starrail Platform
The Doomsday Beast breaks the station’s Peace Shield with a cyan breath beam. Lin Feng, March 7th, Dan Heng, Himeko, and Welt fight to delay it while personnel evacuate. Their attacks inflict little meaningful damage, while the station’s proximity prevents Himeko and Welt from safely using their most destructive wide-area abilities 23 24.
Lin Feng repeatedly strikes its head to provoke an Annihilation Ray, intending to use the blast to awaken his Stellaron. The enraged beast throws him off, gravely wounds Himeko with a claw sweep, and fires the ray at her while she cannot move. Lin Feng intercepts the beam and successfully awakens the Stellaron’s power 24 25.
His counterattack—a thousand-meter-long silver phantom baseball bat—hurls the beast dozens of kilometers away, shatters its armor, and severely twists its spine. Rather than dying, it enters an enhanced berserk state and destroys the Starrail Platform. Lin Feng’s temporary power then fails, and the beast charges him in revenge 25 26.
Destruction and aftermath
Even with its flesh exposed, the berserk beast repels Lin Feng, March 7th, Dan Heng, and Welt. Asta’s newly purchased Star Destroyer, Giant Peak, arrives before the defenders are overwhelmed. Its Storm Griffin Fighters bombard the beast and lure it thousands of kilometers away from the station 27.
Once the fighters clear the firing line, Giant Peak fires the Spear of Tirmis, Antimatter Pulse Main Cannon, at 47% output. The shot vaporizes the Doomsday Beast without leaving any remains 27.
Herta Space Station survives, with damage confined to the Support Cabin near the Starrail Platform. The battle also establishes Lin Feng’s reputation as a station hero, earning him names such as “Galactic Baseball Hero” 29 31.
Appearance
The Doomsday Beast resembles a mountain-sized armored mechanical dragon, although its shattered armor exposes flesh and blood beneath 22 23 25.
- White outer armor covering its enormous body 22.
- Huge wings used to maneuver through space and dive toward targets 22.
- Mechanical arms and massive claws, compared to hills and high-rise buildings 22 23.
- Dragon-like eyes that glow scarlet when it prepares to finish the wounded Himeko 24.
- Crimson radiance and tattered wings during its enhanced berserk state 26.
Personality
The beast reacts aggressively to provocation and is portrayed as regarding human opponents as insignificant ants. It exploits Himeko’s injury by immediately targeting her with a lethal beam, rather than allowing her to recover 23 24.
After Lin Feng severely injures it, the beast pursues him specifically for revenge. Its later response to the Storm Griffin Fighters is likewise framed as wounded pride: it resents being harassed by machines beneath its standing as the Antimatter Legion’s vanguard 26 27.
Abilities & Skills
Physical Strength
Its body and claws possess enough force to threaten the station through direct impacts alone 20 22.
- Its arrival shakes a station weighing more than ten billion tons 19.
- Lin Feng barely blocks one claw strike and is driven back dozens of meters 23.
- A sweeping claw gravely wounds Himeko and throws her nearly a hundred meters 24.
- In its berserk state, a single downward strike collapses a Starrail Platform weighing millions of tons 26.
Armor and Durability
Its armor withstands concentrated defensive fire and most of the crew’s conventional attacks 22 23 24.
- The station’s Defense Firepower Module leaves only faint scorch marks at maximum output 22.
- March 7th’s ice attacks draw its attention without wounding it 23.
- Dan Heng’s spear penetrates its armor, and Himeko’s monomolecular saw cuts a gash over ten meters long, but these injuries remain minor relative to its size 23.
- It survives shattered armor, exposed flesh, and a severely contorted spine after Lin Feng’s Stellaron-powered blow 25 26.
- Once its armor is gone, fighter beams and armor-piercing missiles leave numerous blackened wounds across its body 27.
Energy Attacks
The beast projects destructive energy from its mouth and can unleash a sweeping barrage 23 24.
- Cyan breath beam: shatters Herta Space Station’s Peace Shield 23.
- Annihilation Ray: a charged blue-green beam used after Lin Feng enrages it. He identifies this as its strongest attack and deliberately intercepts it to awaken his Stellaron 24 25.
- Energy barrage: neutralized by Welt’s Void Rift during the prolonged battle 24.
Spaceflight and Mobility
Its wings allow it to maneuver through the starfield and rapidly close long distances 22 26.
- Crosses nearly a hundred kilometers in moments during its berserk charge 26.
- Its movement generates a tremendous spatial storm 26.
- Pursues the Storm Griffin Fighters away from the station, allowing Giant Peak to engage it without firing beside the station 27.
Berserk Enhancement
Severe injury triggers a stronger, more frenzied combat state rather than incapacitating it 26.
- Continues fighting despite extensive bodily damage and torn wings 26.
- Repels all four remaining defenders even after losing its protective armor 27.
- The enhancement’s source remains uncertain; Welt’s proposed connection to Nanook is speculation 26.
Relationships
- Lin Feng — Principal opponent. Provokes its Annihilation Ray, uses the blast to awaken his Stellaron, and severely wounds it; the beast subsequently targets him for revenge 24 25 26.
- March 7th — Draws its attention with ice attacks, exposing herself to its claw strikes 23.
- Himeko — Damages its armor with her saw, then suffers a grievous claw wound and becomes the target of its Annihilation Ray 23 24.
- Dan Heng — Pierces its armor and participates in the defense of the Starrail Platform 23 27.
- Welt Yang — Halts its sweeping attack with spatial rifts and counters its energy barrage; recognizes its unusual resilience after Lin Feng’s counterattack 23 24 26.
- Asta — Arranges the arrival of Giant Peak, whose main cannon ultimately destroys the beast 27 28.
