"Splurch-!"
The sound of splattering blood became the only sound in Kama's consciousness.
The dull sensation of her heart being pierced, along with the resolve and determination of the sword's wielder, reached Kama's heart without fail-in a physical sense.
Even Karna looked surprised at this bizarre turn of events.
He had already noticed that something was wrong with Saber. An injury aimed straight at her Spirit Core like that would be difficult to reverse without a Command Spell or a healing Noble Phantasm. Even though the Dragon Core inside Saber still held enormous magical energy, fighting would undoubtedly mean sentencing herself to death.
If Karna's eyes had not deceived him, her earlier refusal to budge from in front of Kama could just barely be explained by the fact that neither could survive the spear of lightning without cooperating. But remaining there to protect Kama after everything had ended was strange. It did not fit Saber's self-serving style after being blackened at all.
Still, considering Kama's Noble Phantasm, Karna could understand it. But if that was the case, why had Saber stabbed her in the back?
There had been no killing intent or warning. Until Saber's sword tip pierced Kama's heart, even a great hero like Karna had noticed nothing.
These contradictions piled upon contradictions obstructed Karna's ability to see through people's true nature.
But Kama found it even harder to believe than Karna did.
"Huh..."
The Goddess murmured blankly, her voice not even making an audible vibration in the air. Just as she tried to turn around, Saber cleanly shredded her heart.
Once the Spirit Core of a Servant was destroyed, even a god could do nothing.
"Why! How did you do it?"
Watching Saber mercilessly withdraw her Demonic Sword and shake off the blood, Kama could no longer support
