Physician of Qingshan Town

Xiao Yi Xian works as a specially hired physician at the Myriad Medicine Pavilion. Her medical skill earns her the gratitude of Qingshan Town’s mercenaries; Yao Bai claims that more than half have received her treatment. She also gathers herbs in the mountains and is accustomed to spending nights outdoors 84 88.

Although she dreams of becoming an alchemist, her incompatible Dou Qi attributes initially restrict her to ordinary medicine. Jiang Yun seeks her out and offers to teach her medicinal herb cultivation. She leaves the pavilion with him, Zi Yan, and Qing Lin, having already recognized Yao Bai’s improper intentions toward her 84 85.

Discovery and Removal of the Woeful Poison Body

During a cave expedition, Jiang Yun gives her the Seven-Colored Poison Scripture. Its final page reveals that she possesses the Woeful Poison Body. Horrified by accounts of its outbreaks, she withdraws from Qing Lin’s touch and asks whether Jiang Yun intends to kill her before she causes a disaster 85.

Jiang Yun offers the Poison Pill Method as a means of control, but warns that it would preserve her identity as a poison master and could limit her eventual cultivation. Xiao Yi Xian firmly rejects that future and instead agrees to an experimental attempt to eradicate the constitution 89.

The treatment burns both her body and soul, provoking a dangerous poison-body eruption. Jiang Yun uses Soul Link to help her endure, devours the poisonous origin with the Saint Heavenly Demon Flame, and sustains her with a Grade 8 Bone Regeneration Blood Fusion Pill. Bodhi Body-Transformation Saliva neutralizes the remaining poison and awakens her original wood attribute 93 94.

She awakens five days later, free of the constitution and overwhelmed with relief. Her gratitude toward Jiang Yun becomes openly affectionate, and she kisses him after the successful treatment 94.

Alchemist and Pill Tower Guest Elder

The discovery of a faint fire attribute within her wood Dou Qi makes alchemy possible. Jiang Yun personally instructs her in extraction, temperature control, and ingredient fusion, helping her fulfill the ambition she once considered unattainable 95 99.

After cultivating in the Gate of Life and Death, she enters the Jia Ma Empire’s Alchemist Tournament at Jiang Yun’s encouragement. Her fifth-grade Qi-Gathering Pill wins first place and earns her the sixth-grade Spirit Fusion Pill recipe 131 134.

She later travels to Sacred Pill City, passes the sixth-grade assessment, and joins the Pill Tower as a guest elder alongside Jiang Yun. Much of her time there is spent tending its medicine field—a life she explicitly finds fulfilling 159 162.

Life Spirit Flame and Bodhi Enlightenment

Xiao Yi Xian accompanies Jiang Yun and Zi Yan into hidden Dou Saint ruins in the Skeleton Mountain Range. The group crosses a Spatial Storm and passes through magma and blue fire with Jiang Yun’s protection 175.

Later, while tending medicinal plants, she discovers the Life Spirit Flame disguised as a tree. Its affinity with her does not remove the danger of refining it at Dou Zong, so Jiang Yun seals it within her Dantian using the Flame-Cool Array and his sealing power 179 180.

When the Bodhi Ancient Tree emerges, she communicates with it and helps dispel the evil intelligence troubling it by refining Bodhi Seeds. The tree supports her cultivation, then grants her and Jiang Yun the Hundred Lifetimes Reincarnation enlightenment. Its special favor allows her to completely refine her Bodhi Heart and imprint the Life Spirit Flame before fully refining the flame during subsequent seclusion 182 185 192 193.

Marriage and Later Responsibilities

Xiao Yi Xian marries Jiang Yun in the same wedding as Zi Yan, Medusa, and Qing Lin. Later, she senses the Bodhi Ancient Tree and persuades it to accompany them; it shrinks to three feet tall and settles in her hands 246.

When Jiang Yun returns after seven years in the Great Thousand World, she welcomes him home on Dragon Island. By then, she has refined the Bodhi Ancient Tree and reached Half-Emperor, making her the strongest of his four wives at that reunion 295.

She later undergoes the Continent Baptism to pursue Heavenly Sovereign. Following Jiang Yun’s battle with the Heavenly Evil God, she is among the companions entrusted with the Ancient Heavenly Palace and Red Flame God Hall while he enters seclusion 312 333.

Personality

Xiao Yi Xian is gentle and devoted to healing. Her rejection of the poison-master path persists even when Jiang Yun offers a way to control the Woeful Poison Body and reach realms she once considered unimaginable. Her interest in medicine, medicinal plants, and alchemy is stronger than her initial interest in combat techniques 84 85 89.

Initially intimidated by powerful cultivators and the social standing of alchemists, she gradually becomes more confident and playful around Jiang Yun. She teases him about being her teacher, takes pride in her alchemical achievements, and openly credits him for changing her fate 85 95 99 159.

Her desire to help him also drives her pursuit of strength. Before their separation at the Gate of Life and Death, she promises that she will be able to assist him next time. Later, she feels discouraged when her companions appear to be advancing toward the Saint Realm faster than she is 106 171.

Her loyalty can become ruthless: she suggests killing Xiao Yan because his collection of Heavenly Flames might eventually conflict with Jiang Yun’s. Jiang Yun rejects the suggestion and reminds her that an alchemist’s work should center on healing 135.
