Ziwei Ancient Star, the Southern Region of the Divine Continent, the Wuliang Dao.
Above the Central Heavenly Palace, nine-colored immortal radiance blossomed.
High in the heavens, golden light flickered in and out of sight. Golden lotuses could faintly be seen springing from empty space, while the heavenly music of the Great Dao sounded from time to time. Astonishingly dense Dao resonance enveloped the entire sacred heartland of the Wuliang Dao.
Vast, majestic power of Red Dust Faith was drawn in from all the heavens and myriad domains. Above the nine heavens, it formed an ocean of faith that surged freely, unfolding countless wondrous sights and stretching without end.
Within the ocean of faith, chants and prayers rang ceaselessly, faintly resonating with the principles of the Dao and drawing down myriad Daos. Immortal potential for everlasting life surged, giving the impression that one could attain undying immortality amid the mortal world.
Boundless blessings and Dao resonance gathered in the ocean of faith, then became a rain of light that showered the whole of Ziwei Ancient Star, nourishing all living beings and things.
At the same time, carried by the blessings of that luminous rain, the faith and thought power of Ziwei's Living Beings rose toward the ocean of faith. Through this cycle, an ingenious balance emerged.
And so, the ocean of faith shrouded the skies above Ziwei for three full years.
During those three years, nourished by the rain of light, the number of cultivators across the Divine Continent grew considerably.
Three years later, the disciples of the Wuliang Dao received the Heaven Venerable's decree, commanding them to spread the Dao throughout the heavens and propagate his faith far and wide.
Thus, the scene from thousands of years ago returned: disciples of the Wuliang Dao spread throughout the sea of stars, and faith in the Immeasurable Heaven Venerable flourished across the universe.
Once this grand spectacle appeared, it endured for three hundred full years.
A staggering amount of power of faith streamed in ceaselessly from every realm and direction. The ocean of faith that had once manifested above Ziwei was gone, replaced by a wondrous sight suspended high at the center of the universe-the Faith Divine Heaven.
He Mu's true body, too, had long since ceased residing in the Central Heavenly Palace of the Wuliang Dao on Ziwei. Instead, he reclined high above the nine heavens, within the Faith Divine Heaven.
He manifested the dharma image of a Heavenly Emperor, accepting the worship of all living beings, while the image behind him gradually grew stronger.
Time trickled slowly onward. As it passed, the disciples of the Wuliang Dao reached almost every corner of the universe. Even in its most remote reaches, they could be found preaching the Dao, and thus the honored name of the Immeasurable Heaven Venerable resounded throughout the universe's myriad domains.
Over those three hundred years, more and more Wuliang Shrines were erected. The Heaven Venerable's miracles manifested continually in the mortal world. He answered cries and responded to pleas, relieving suffering and rescuing the afflicted, pulling countless living beings from the bitter sea.
For a time, statues of the Heaven Venerable were worshipped in every household, and incense filled the skies.
The ever-increasing power of faith made the Heavenly Emperor dharma image manifested by He Mu increasingly solid. Glimmers of wisdom could already be discerned in its imperial eyes, as though it were a real living being.
The dharma image shone brilliantly, radiating boundless immortal light of faith that illuminated the entire universe. Its pure, ethereal power bestowed blessings and longevity. Cultivators could use it to awaken their wisdom, while mortals were protected from all evil and granted longer lives.
At the center of the universe, within the Faith Divine Heaven, the dharma image of the Wuliang Heavenly Emperor, seemingly unchanged since time immemorial, suddenly stirred.
Immortal light blazed forth, and a refreshing fragrance wafted out of the Faith Divine Heaven.
The next moment, a majestic heavenly sound reverberated throughout the universe, as though chaos had been opened and the pure and turbid had first separated. Joy arose in the hearts of all living beings in the universe.
Boom-!
Three hundred years of accumulation blossomed in a single moment!
The dharma image of the Wuliang Heavenly Emperor exploded, releasing immortal light that stretched ten thousand lengths, then collapsed inward in an instant, finally becoming a singularity.
At last, amid the praises of all living beings, a figure bearing a ninety-percent resemblance to He Mu emerged from the singularity, wreathed in majestic, sacred immortal light.
The figure wore a purple-gold Heaven-Pacifying Crown, from which hung twelve strands of Chaos Jewels. They seemed like manifestations of twelve worlds of chaos, with emperor qi coiling around them, lending him the air of a supreme Heavenly Emperor. He wore a jet-black Heavenly Emperor Robe adorned with the Twelve Emblems: a dragon, the sun, the moon, stars, mountains, a pheasant, ritual vessels, waterweed, fire, grains of rice, an axe-head pattern, and a paired bow-shaped pattern. Solemn and imposing, he fully displayed the dignity of a Heaven Venerable.
At his waist hung an Azure-Gold Longsword, radiating the resplendent sacred might of the Heavenly Dao. The sun, moon, and stars were engraved on one side of its blade, and mountains, rivers, grasses, and trees on the other. A vast aura emanated from it, faintly rivaling an Extreme Dao Weapon.
This figure was none other than He Mu's Divine Self Body.
The Divine Self Body descended from the void, turned toward He Mu, then bowed respectfully and said,
"Greetings, my original self."
He Mu looked at the divine self before him and nodded, thoroughly satisfied, before speaking.
"Excellent. Truly extraordinary. You already possess the bearing of a Heaven Venerable. My painstaking efforts were not wasted."
Then He Mu continued.
"Today, you were born from the void of chaos, in harmony with the opening of heaven, and you inherited part of my Great Dao. You shall be called Pan. From now on, patrol the heavens in my stead and quell upheaval."
Hearing He Mu's words, Pan nodded and bowed once more.
"Yes."
The next moment, He Mu rose, while Pan took a single step and appeared upon the Cloud Bed where He Mu had previously reclined, sitting down with an upright posture.
As Pan sat down, the aura of the entire Faith Divine Heaven began linking with him, making his might ever greater.
Pan, this Divine Self Body, had consumed hundreds of years of He Mu's painstaking effort, and was naturally exceptional.
He was not merely He Mu's divine self. He could also be regarded as an entirely new living being created by He Mu, who simply shared a connection with He Mu's mind.
While creating Pan, He Mu had benefited from the Immortal Metal Saint Spirit gestating in the Undying Mountain and the Great Perfection Saint Spirit he had once slain. He understood the Saint Spirit Lineage, born and nurtured by heaven and earth, extremely well.
Now, the divine self he had created also possessed several traits of a Saint Spirit. Innately perfect, he was extraordinarily powerful, no weaker than an ordinary Contemporary Dao Attainer. He even had hope of progressing further in the future.
Moreover, this Divine Self Body would have an extraordinarily long lifespan. A single lifetime might last nearly thirty thousand years.
However, the price was that it would be extremely difficult for Pan to live out a second lifetime. Immortal Medicine was already useless to him.
In short, from now on, Pan would take He Mu's place, presiding over the Faith Divine Heaven and ruling the universe's myriad races.
He Mu, meanwhile, could roam freely through the world and continue pursuing the path of a Red Dust Immortal.
Seeing that Pan had completely united with the Faith Divine Heaven, He Mu smiled, turned, and stepped away toward the Ziwei Northern Sea.
It was time to see the Longevity Heavenly Venerable.
That concludes the second update.
