In the deepest reaches of the Netherland, the supreme yin energy remained dense, but the sinister ghostly aura had been swept away, leaving the place with a solemn, weighty air instead.

The sky was still exceedingly dark, but now and then, hazy moonlight was drawn down from high above and connected to this heartland of the Netherland, transforming into the purest spiritual energy of origin to nourish the land.

Ancient stone steles stood throughout the area, inscribed with divine script of unknown age and indecipherable meaning, seemingly recounting those hidden years and histories.

Countless palaces joined together here, lending the place a measure of vitality. Among them stood a simple, imposing great hall that was particularly striking.

Inside the hall, He Mu and Lunzhuan Supreme took their seats as guest and host. Before them, delicate wisps of pure vapor rose from Spirit Tea, carrying a spiritual resonance.

Lunzhuan Supreme chatted with He Mu and said to him,

"Fellow Daoist Wuliang, you have chosen a rather unfortunate time to visit Fellow Daoist Changsheng. A thousand years ago, he entered our Underworld and settled here, even establishing a Changsheng Hall.

Over the next seven hundred years, he traveled throughout the Netherland and seemed to gain a great deal. He has now been in seclusion for three hundred years, but in my view, he likely won't emerge for tens of thousands of years."

Having said this, Lunzhuan Supreme casually pointed and continued speaking to He Mu.

"Look, fellow Daoist. That is the Changsheng Hall where Fellow Daoist Changsheng resides."

He Mu looked in the direction Lunzhuan Supreme indicated. Sure enough, a magnificent, majestic palace stood there, its Dao resonance naturally formed.

Above the palace's main entrance hung a brass plaque bearing the words "Changsheng Hall."

Unlike the Wheel-Turning Hall they currently occupied, that hall did not look ancient and austere, but rather newly built. It was surely the residence of Longevity Heavenly Venerable that Lunzhuan Supreme had mentioned.

The palace was tightly sealed, with supreme Formation Patterns concealed around it. They contained the Dao intent of the two poles of life and death, absorbing the boundless deathly essence of the Underworld's Netherland, then transforming it into astonishing vitality of the Great Dao that flowed into the palace.

All of this resembled the methods Longevity Heavenly Venerable had used when he lived in the Ziwei Northern Sea.

Looking again at the palace, He Mu saw Dao resonance constantly spreading outward. It was indeed extremely similar to the aura of the Great Dao that Longevity Heavenly Venerable had displayed during their Dao Discussion.

By now, He Mu was essentially certain that Longevity Heavenly Venerable had indeed chosen to move to the Underworld. Judging by these arrangements, he clearly intended to stay for a long time. It seemed that their Dao Discussion a thousand years earlier had been one of the important factors behind his decision.

In this state, Longevity Heavenly Venerable was clearly not going anywhere.

As Lunzhuan Supreme had said, Longevity Heavenly Venerable's seclusion this time was profoundly deep. Without at least ten thousand years passing, he likely had no chance of awakening at all.

This meant that Longevity Heavenly Venerable could continue to be He Mu's "good fellow Daoist." So long as he did not wreak havoc in the Universe in the future, He Mu would not go out of his way to target him.

Once the matter of Longevity Heavenly Venerable was settled, He Mu had no further concerns regarding this visit to the Underworld.

At last, he looked again at Lunzhuan Supreme before him, and the two resumed their conversation.

During this exchange, He Mu unexpectedly discovered that the Forbidden Zone Supreme before him was quite an interesting character.

Lunzhuan Supreme had attained the Dao seven hundred thousand years ago. He was truly an unsurpassed figure who had reigned supreme in the early Mythological Era, and he had once ruled over the heavens and protected all living beings.

Back then, he had been bold and unrestrained, his spirit swallowing the world, his bearing proud and soaring.

In fact, before entering the Underworld, he had not called himself Lunzhuan. He had borne another name, one that had been renowned in those days and revered throughout the heavens.

As someone who had attained and verified the Dao in the early Mythological Era, Lunzhuan Supreme had been profoundly influenced by Tribulation Transcendence Heavenly Venerable, Cao Yusheng. For that reason, he had held Tribulation Transcendence Heavenly Venerable in the highest esteem.

Later, after Tribulation Transcendence Heavenly Venerable's imperial corpse awakened to spiritual awareness and became Netherworld Venerable, this Ancient Venerable had held a Dao Discussion with him. It had been a turning point in Lunzhuan Supreme's life.

From then on, Lunzhuan Supreme had done more than admire Netherworld Venerable. He had been thoroughly led astray, embarking on the road of no return in pursuit of the Reincarnation Great Dao.

Netherworld Venerable had also personally invited him to take up residence in the vast Netherland, making him one of the Underworld's Supremes.

After entering the Underworld, Lunzhuan Supreme had grown increasingly cautious under the constant "cultivation" of Netherworld Venerable's influence.

Whenever the other Forbidden Zones undertook "great deeds," Lunzhuan Supreme never participated. Instead, he sat peacefully in the Netherland, cultivating himself and nurturing his disposition, wholly absorbed in the Reincarnation Great Dao.

The only disturbance had occurred when another Supreme of the Underworld coveted the fortune offered by the Immortal Corpse and made a move while Lunzhuan Supreme was asleep. Heavenly Venerable Lingbao had ultimately resolved that trouble.

By now, Netherworld Venerable had left the Underworld, his whereabouts unknown, and Lunzhuan Supreme had naturally become the lord of the Underworld, presiding over the Netherland.

One reason the Underworld stood out so distinctly among the Universe's many Life Forbidden Zones was that Netherworld Venerable himself had been unwilling to manage its affairs, devoting himself wholeheartedly to studying the Reincarnation Great Dao;

Another was inseparable from Lunzhuan Supreme's own heart, still as quiet water, neither contending nor grasping.

Fortunately, despite Netherworld Venerable's profound influence, Lunzhuan Supreme still handled matters with generosity and composure. Had Netherworld Venerable simply not influenced him in this regard? Or was Netherworld Venerable not yet as sleazy as Duan De would be in later ages?

Still, although his temperament was overly cautious, Lunzhuan Supreme's mastery of the Great Dao was anything but weak.

He Mu had now met no small number of Heavenly Venerables and Supremes, yet this Ancient Venerable still ranked near the top among them. The sense of danger he gave He Mu far surpassed that of the three Supremes from the Forbidden Zones in the past.

The weak were so overbearing and arrogant, while the strong were so cautious and composed. The ways of the world could not help but seem rather bewildering.

He Mu and Lunzhuan Supreme were undeniably an excellent match in temperament. Unlike Lingbao, whose life He Mu had saved, or Changsheng, against whom he remained constantly on guard, Lunzhuan was the only Supreme-level figure besides Heaven Venerable Daode with whom He Mu could converse so congenially at their very first meeting.

As the two spoke, He Mu learned many more secrets buried by history, along with strange tales concerning the early Mythological Era and even the years of the Chaotic Ancient Era.

Unfortunately, He Mu still had other important matters to attend to and could not remain in the Netherland for long. After conversing for a while, he bade Lunzhuan Supreme farewell.

Lunzhuan Supreme fell into slumber once more, while He Mu left the Underworld.

The vast Netherland that housed the Underworld once again sank into its age-old, unchanging silence.

After transmitting some of the newly learned information into Chaos, He Mu dispersed the imposing aura around him and acted to conceal the workings of heaven, muddying every trace.

Next, according to the plans he and Heavenly Venerable Lingbao had devised, certain matters still needed to be arranged in advance, and He Mu had to see to them one by one.

Thus, in the next instant, He Mu took a step forward and headed into the depths of the Universe.

That concludes the second update.
