Power Progression

The Little Sheep's improvements come from game items, temporary Pokémon buffs, mechanical modifications, and Shen Qi's developing control techniques. Its official designation remains D-class even when its effective performance greatly exceeds the original factory configuration 272 581.

Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Adaptive Tire equipped 11 Binds the item to the Little Sheep model, restores effective tire condition, and improves grip.
Chansey-assisted racing setup 11 12 Work Up increases horsepower and torque, Defense Curl strengthens components, and Helping Hand supplies brief acceleration bursts. These are temporary buffs, not permanent mechanical upgrades.
Repaired and tuned 21 Returns to service after the chase with Lilligant; repairs restore handling but cost over 2,000 b.
Racing Energy tested 21 A small quantity produces greater engine power at the same throttle setting.
Adaptive Skill Slot equipped 41 Can increase skill strength and duration by up to 20%; the stock engine still limits safe power output.
Lilligant-assisted racing setup 42 Growth boosts horsepower and torque, while Synthesis reduces wear. Shen Qi stops at two stages of Growth because Chansey is absent to provide defensive reinforcement.
Adaptive Spoiler deployed in racing 56 Helps stabilize the van during Shen Qi's run against Kadabra; observers mistake it for a Style Technique.
Emblem-showdown mechanical rebuild 58 64 65 Huzang's work produces a heavier-engine configuration. Island supporters supply a bucket seat, borrowed brake calipers, new tires, and a Poké Ball rack.
Racing Energy used against Shan Sheng 66 68 After using Nose-Swing Drift and Pokémon boosts, Shen Qi activates Racing Energy during the showdown and ultimately recovers Lilligant's emblem.
Adaptive Suspension and software-limit removal 197 The suspension item improves cushioning and handling. Dodo removes factory software restrictions, improving throttle response without increasing the engine's inherent output.
Pokémon-assisted levitation racing 202 233 Dodo's Magnet Rise allows airborne overtakes and shortcuts across sharp turns.
Compatible Turbo in competition 241 263 Turbocharging raises air intake and power, but its earlier use cracks the intake pipe. Shen Qi later engages it at sufficient engine speed to avoid turbo lag.
Stored-move launch technique 254 Alliance Attack stores Helping Hand for timed release, allowing a sudden acceleration burst without waiting for the move to be prepared after launch.
Midrange Class B-equivalent peak performance 272 At full strength, the Little Sheep performs at roughly the level of a midrange Class B car. Further overloading improves times but threatens the engine.
Winter Race engine failure 281 282 One cylinder is destroyed and another damaged. Basic repairs restore ordinary road use, but power is roughly halved and competitive running becomes unsafe.
Repaired with variable valve lift 336 Huzang adds a high-rev valve-lift system that increases air intake and lets Shen Qi delay using Compatible Turbo, saving Mental Power.
Integrated turbo and valve-lift racing setup 403 415 416 417 Improved engine and supporting components work with the spoiler, turbo, Pokémon assistance, and Wish Necklace amplification.
Jet-assisted emergency control 422 Manual ESP compensates for uneven front braking, while Jet Energy rights the car and provides final-stretch thrust.
Rotary-engine configuration 554 555 Huzang's T2-oriented engine installation greatly improves high-speed performance and reduces overall weight, but initially makes the car unstable and requires extensive retraining.
Over 300 km/h and artificial downforce 560 562 A replacement speedometer reads up to 400 km/h. Jet Energy emitted from a separated finger segment in the rear wing supplies additional downforce during a 300 km/h corner.
Stabilized rotary engine and supporting upgrades 696 Li Yizi's sponsorship supports further engine improvements after the Expansion Race, accompanied by braking-system and tire-grade upgrades.
Refined qualifying and cornering package 696 697 699 Consecutive Helping Hands, coordinated defensive moves, and Jet Energy from finger segments in the mirrors and rear wing support a 7-minute-57-second qualifying average and high-speed controlled drifting.
Spring Race championship 719 Shen Qi wins the Spring Race championship while driving the Little Sheep and earns T3 certification.

Specifications

Feature Details
Rated Load Capacity 700 kilograms. Haulers treat it as capable of carrying over a ton, although overloading strains its handling and suspension 5.
Approximate New Price 40,000 b, according to Shan Sheng; later described as costing forty or fifty thousand b on the road 12 52.
Unboosted Acceleration Takes twenty seconds to reach 100 km/h during the pursuit from Ruins Valley 11.
Original Engine Cheap stock engine with limited high-speed power; its torque is suited to hauling cargo. The original setup is later replaced or extensively modified for racing 15 41 52 64.
Engine Position Mid-mounted beneath the body rather than in a conventional front engine bay. Its low position helps stabilize the tall van 64 554.
Pre-Rotary Engine Layout Four cylinders. During the Winter Race failure, one is destroyed, another damaged, and two remain serviceable 281 282.
Original Rear Suspension A torsion beam: a tough, flexible alloy bar connecting the rear wheels. Durable and mechanically simple, but poor at absorbing bumps compared with a race car's suspension 197.
Original Front Suspension Single-arm rod-and-spring shock absorbers, compared by Shen Qi to MacPherson struts. They mainly cushion vertical movement rather than sideways or angled impacts 197.
Cargo Layout Rear hatch opens onto a cargo space without unnecessary seats 22.
Component Compatibility Flexible about replacement-part models; many borrowed components can be installed provided they are not excessively unsuitable 58.
Rotary Engine Installed for T2-level racing. Shen Qi estimates that it has about three rotors, but does not inspect it directly to confirm the count 554.
Recorded Speed Exceeds 300 km/h in its rotary-engine configuration; the replacement speedometer's upper marking is 400 km/h 560.
Repair Costs Parts are inexpensive, but the damage from chasing Lilligant costs over 2,000 b to repair—roughly one or two months of Shen Qi's work. Basic repairs after the Winter Race cost six or seven thousand b, apparently with discounted labor 18 21 282.

Appearance

  • Front air intake: A notch produces a sheep-like “Baa” whistle when sufficiently strong airflow passes through it 11.
  • Front emblem: Missing before Shen Qi's arrival in this world; it had been knocked off during cargo-hauling work 49.
  • Exterior condition: Regular deliveries leave the vehicle scarred and knocked about 49.
  • Lights: Equipped with headlights and fog lights 10.
  • Body shape: Tall, broad, and bulky, with substantially poorer aerodynamics than a purpose-built sports car 108 202.
  • Racing rear wing: The Adaptive Spoiler appears during competitive driving, despite Shen Qi initially considering a spoiler awkward-looking on a minivan 15 21 56.
  • Summer Race damage: Chansey smashes the rear windshield so Shen Qi can use Jet Energy for extra thrust. The front license plate also loosens and projects forward, deciding the near-simultaneous finish against Rainbow Flying Sword 422.

Performance & Skills

Skill Slot Conversion

The Little Sheep's Skill Slot converts Pokémon moves into vehicle-performance effects.

Move / Ability User Vehicle Effect
Work Up Chansey Increases horsepower and torque 12.
Defense Curl Chansey Increases component toughness, allowing the vehicle to tolerate stronger power buffs 12 50.
Helping Hand Chansey; later also Lopunny Briefly boosts power by 50%; used for rapid acceleration out of corners. Lopunny later supplies a prepared Helping Hand during racing 11 12 403.
Growth Lilligant Raises horsepower and torque 42.
Synthesis Lilligant Reduces vehicle wear; less effective at night 42 50.
Egg Bomb Chansey Used through the Skill Slot to reduce brake-pad and tire wear, as well as energy consumption, within a limited duration or amount 21.
Agility Dodo Increases air intake, supporting acceleration and engine output 263 417.
Chlorophyll Lilligant; copied by Mime Jr. Feeds through the Skill Slot to increase air intake. Mime Jr. later copies it from Rainbow Flying Sword to help the Little Sheep overtake in Diglett Cave 417 472 698.
Magnet Rise Dodo Lifts the vehicle for airborne overtakes, obstacle shortcuts, and reduced landing impact. It also eases the damaged engine's burden during the Winter Race finish 202 233 266 281.
Protect Dodo Shields the car while crossing hazardous obstacles; used at the Small Waterfall and planned for breaking through vines without snagging protruding parts 233 255.
Light Screen, Reflect, Safeguard Mime Jr. Applied consecutively to keep the Little Sheep running steadily during later competition 697.
Sand Veil Ability effect used by Shen Qi Increases evasion, which translates into reduced aerodynamic drag during racing 108 417.
  • Buffs expire in real-world conditions and must be refreshed; their duration depends on the Pokémon and circumstances 12.
  • Chansey initially applies moves without accounting for vehicle conversion, causing erratic power changes. Lilligant tests the slot before applying her buffs 41.
  • Helping Hand can still increase output after ordinary Attack increases have reached their permitted limit 108.
  • By the later racing campaign, Dodo can use Agility while remaining in her Poké Ball without waiting for the Poké Ball rack's activation rotation. The team's buffs enter the Skill Slots without conflicting with one another 697.

Mountain-Road Handling

  • Shen Qi's familiarity with Trail Mountain and Marker Mountain lets him accelerate near corner exits before drivers unfamiliar with the route dare to do so 12.
  • Tight bends reduce the advantage of more powerful cars, allowing the Little Sheep to close gaps through grip, route knowledge, and timed boosts 11 13.
  • Its low power sometimes favors shorter inside cornering lines rather than the wider racing lines used by powerful sports cars 48.
  • In its early configuration, Lilligant's race car can pull away on open straights; Shen Qi cannot match its horsepower 13.
  • Nose-Swing Drift: Shen Qi uses unusual rotation through consecutive bends to pass Shan Sheng, followed by Helping Hand acceleration on exit 66.
  • Adjustable-grip cornering: Adaptive Tire can deliberately reduce rear grip to rotate the van, then restore traction for acceleration 64 699.
  • Airborne shortcuts: Magnet Rise allows the vehicle to bypass sharp turns and difficult ground sections, though low tunnel ceilings, gravity effects, and landing surfaces can limit this tactic 233 266 416 561.
  • Later high-speed drifting: On a cleared Gravel Road, Shen Qi enters a sharp turn above 200 km/h, induces a skid, uses Jet Energy from the right mirror to correct the nose, and switches to slick tires before accelerating away with Helping Hand 699.

Mechanical Limits

  • In the original configuration, two stages of offensive buffs already approach the vehicle's safe operating limit. Stronger boosts require substantial defensive reinforcement 15 41.
  • Extra horsepower does not automatically improve the suspension, brakes, or intake system; abrupt acceleration can therefore cause an accident 12.
  • During the pursuit of Lilligant, the coolant boils, the brakes fade and leak fluid, and the suspension groans under the strain 12 14 15.
  • Dev confirms that continuing the chase much longer could have destroyed the engine and left the entire vehicle fit only for scrap 21.
  • Even after its first repairs, the original engine remains battle-damaged and less stable. Shen Qi and Lilligant conclude that intense racing requires replacement rather than further reliance on buffs 52.
  • The tall body can lean or overturn if a strong acceleration burst is applied before the van straightens after a corner 66.
  • Aerodynamic drag remains a major weakness. Increasing speed consumes substantial power overcoming the bulky body's air resistance, and even drag-reduction techniques cannot completely eliminate the disadvantage against Class A cars 108 202 560.
  • Repeated competition damages the intake piping and suspension. Basic post-race maintenance does not include free replacement of major parts 241 242.
  • Overloaded Class B-equivalent performance is not indefinitely sustainable: repeated extreme runs threaten the engine, which eventually suffers cylinder failure during the Winter Race 272 281.
  • The rotary engine improves high-speed output but has weak low-speed torque, high repair costs, and initially unstable performance. Huzang recommends it for T2 racing rather than routine Regular Races or T3 use 554 555.
  • During the T2 Expansion Race, the car lacks an Energy Circuit component capable of clearly sensing changes in external Infinity Energy. Combined with Shen Qi's then-incomplete perception and control, this prevents him from following Infinity Energy Lines as effectively as expert Trainers 570.
  • Later sponsorship-funded engine stabilization and corresponding brake and tire upgrades address some of these shortcomings, but do not change the van's D-class identity 581 696.

Driver Techniques and Energy Control

  • Energy Coordination: Shen Qi coordinates Pokémon buffs to improve their effect and duration. His practiced Normal-type control also keeps launch power close to the tires' grip limit without unnecessary wheelspin 254.
  • Alliance Attack: Stores a packaged Pokémon move for later release. Shen Qi uses it to prepare Helping Hand before launches and later chains stored and newly supplied Helping Hands 254 264 696.
  • Global Eye-assisted route reading: Lets Shen Qi inspect unfamiliar corners and obstacles ahead, creating a particularly large advantage on the first lap before rivals learn the course 255 403 472 561.
  • Nene Ninja Technique: Temporarily increases evasion, translating into reduced aerodynamic resistance. Shen Qi uses it against crosswinds and during high-speed overtaking 108 417 418 698.
  • Manual ESP: Corrects the uneven braking caused by a malfunctioning front brake during the Summer Race 422.
  • Jet Energy: Supplies thrust, attitude correction, and artificial downforce. Using Severed Limb, Shen Qi places separated finger segments in the rear wing and mirrors so jets can act directly from those positions 422 562 696 699.
  • Mental-power support: Analysis Card helps Shen Qi perceive energy flows, while Love Savings Bank sustains his Mental Power during demanding control sequences. These are driver resources rather than permanent vehicle components 52 281 422.
  • Improved perception: By the later upgrade campaign, Shen Qi has gained perception of every type of energy, complementing the more stable rotary-engine setup 696.

Equipment & Upgrades

  • Adaptive Tire — Creates an effect layer around the real tires, absorbs wear, and allows tread changes between slick, rain, and knobby mountain configurations. Normal-type energy restores its durability 8 11.
    • Retains new-tire grip until its durability runs out; it still has 70% durability during the chase on Marker Mountain 13.
    • Soft-compound tires enable the decisive final-corner pass against Lilligant; adaptive tread also helps Shen Qi travel through muddy, flooded roads 14 33.
    • Later supports rapid transitions between gravel, wet surfaces, controlled slides, and slick-tire acceleration 201 561 699.
  • Adaptive Spoiler — A rear-wing game item available after the chase. Shen Qi initially leaves it unused during ordinary delivery driving because it is unnecessary and would look awkward on the van 15 21.
    • Used during the race against Kadabra and subsequently incorporated into the Little Sheep's racing setup 56 64.
    • At very high speeds, its downforce can be supplemented by Jet Energy from a separated finger segment hidden inside it 562.
  • Racing Energy — An auxiliary energy reserve that improves engine efficiency and power. Restoring it requires both Grass- and Rock-type energy, so Shen Qi initially uses it sparingly 15 21.
  • Adaptive Skill Slot — Amplifies skill strength and duration by up to 20%. Its full power amplification exceeds what the original Little Sheep can safely handle without matching mechanical upgrades 41.
  • Replacement Emblem — Planned for the wager against Shan Sheng. A replacement costs only ten or twenty b; its actual installation is not explicitly documented 49 50.
  • Poké Ball Rack — Promised after Shen Qi's performance against Kadabra and supplied by Huzang for the emblem showdown. Later supports switching the active assisting Pokémon during competition 56 65 697.
  • Bucket Seat — Initially lent by Dev for one race, replacing the ordinary driver's seating arrangement that had made hard cornering difficult to brace against 56 58 65.
  • Borrowed Brake Calipers — Supplied by Xia Yang for the showdown rebuild 65.
  • Sponsored Tires — A new set is jointly funded by the Pork Shop and vegetable stall for the showdown. Later racing preparations also emphasize the importance of fresh physical tires beneath the game-item effects 65 254.
  • Adaptive Suspension — Improves cushioning and handling over the factory suspension. Shen Qi adjusts or withdraws its effect according to the terrain 197 218 561 698.
  • Modified Onboard Software — Dodo removes factory restrictions on accelerator and related controls. This releases restricted response rather than increasing the engine's inherent mechanical power 197.
  • Compatible Turbo — A turbocharging game item that raises intake airflow and engine output. Shen Qi can activate it after reaching suitable engine speed to avoid turbo lag, but the extra load requires reinforced intake components 52 241 263 266.
  • Global Eye — A racing-vision item used to scout course geometry, hazards, and rival positions. Managing it together with the other racing tools initially taxes Shen Qi's attention 197 561 570.
  • Wish Necklace — Amplifies another game item's effect at additional Mental Power cost; used with Compatible Turbo for maximum output 266 416.
  • Variable Valve Lift — Huzang's mechanical modification engages a second, longer camshaft at high revs, increasing valve lift and air intake. It provides additional output without immediately requiring Compatible Turbo 336 403.
  • Safe — An onboard storage compartment used to carry the Heart Fossil during the Spring Race 379.
  • Rotary Engine — A T2-oriented installation that substantially improves high-speed performance. Its initial instability requires Shen Qi to relearn throttle, braking, and steering responses; later improvements funded by Li Yizi make it much more stable 554 555 696.
  • Upgraded Brakes and Tire Grade — Added to match the further-improved rotary engine 696.
  • Separated Finger Segments — Temporary placements created through Shen Qi's Severed Limb technique, hidden in the mirrors and rear wing to provide directional Jet Energy assistance 562 696 699.

History

Delivery Work and the Mountain Chase

Shen Qi uses the Little Sheep to support himself by transporting local produce between islands. Heavy loads make it sluggish and strain its suspension, while unloading without assistance places considerable physical demands on him 5 37.

After Lilligant leaves Ruins Valley, Shen Qi pursues her with Chansey aboard. Adaptive Tire, Chansey's buffs, and his knowledge of the mountain roads allow him to overtake Shan Sheng's B-class car and eventually catch Lilligant 11 12 13. He passes her at the last bend before Marker Mountain's exit, winning despite carrying Chansey's additional thirty to thirty-five kilograms 14.

The victory leaves the van badly damaged. Shen Qi drives it slowly home, then takes it to Dev because the damage exceeds what he can repair with his own tools. Once repaired and tuned, it resumes delivery work 15 16 21.

Psychic Storms

A Psychic-type energy storm near Ruins Valley overturns the Little Sheep while Shen Qi and Chansey are traveling together 22. A later storm rolls it twice and leaves it on its side beside the road. Injured Celebi lands on the upward-facing left window; unable to right the vehicle alone, Shen Qi leaves on foot to assist the wounded 24.

Shen Qi later retrieves the Little Sheep from the Island 5 Security Bureau after answering questions about the incident. The storm's cause remains undetermined 28.

The Mysterious Little Sheep Driver

Shan Sheng searches for the Little Sheep that defeated him, but the model's popularity makes identification difficult 37 39. When he encounters Shen Qi hauling roughly 700 kilograms of valuable cargo, Shen Qi refuses to race. Shan Sheng initially dismisses him, then reconsiders after examining unusually deep tire tracks and realizing how heavily loaded the van had been 38 39.

With Lilligant assisting through the upgraded Skill Slot, Shen Qi later defeats another racer on Marker Mountain by a crushing margin, reinforcing rumors about the unidentified Little Sheep 41 42.

Emblem Showdown

After Shan Sheng takes Lilligant's emblem in a wagered race, Shen Qi agrees to challenge him to win it back. Shan Sheng accepts a cheap replacement emblem as the Little Sheep's stake because its original is already missing 48 49.

Shen Qi judges that buffs alone will not be enough against Shan Sheng and plans mechanical modifications. Lilligant offers her modification workspace and advice, and chooses to fight alongside him from the passenger seat 50. Further inspection confirms that the old engine remains damaged even after its earlier repairs, making replacement necessary for serious racing 52.

While seeking support, Shen Qi races Kadabra over unfamiliar mountain roads. Adaptive Tire, Lilligant's support, and the newly deployed Adaptive Spoiler help him finish only ten seconds behind. Huzang notices the spoiler, and Shen Qi allows the observers to believe it is a Style Technique. Kadabra's approval earns him the promise of a Poké Ball rack 55 56.

Island supporters help assemble the rebuilt Little Sheep. Dev lends a bucket seat, Xia Yang supplies brake calipers, and local businesses sponsor tires. Huzang's modifications give the van a heavier engine while retaining the stability benefits of its low, mid-mounted layout 58 64 65.

During the showdown, Shen Qi's Nose-Swing Drift carries the Little Sheep into the lead through consecutive turns. Shan Sheng later retakes the lead with his superior car, prompting Shen Qi to apply Lilligant's final Growth stage and activate Racing Energy 66. Shen Qi ultimately succeeds in recovering the emblem and returns it to Lilligant, thanking the islanders who made the Little Sheep's transformation possible 68.

Mainland Regular Races

During the journey to Saffron City, Shen Qi tests Adaptive Suspension and other racing items while Dodo removes the van's factory software restrictions. The improved response allows the speed to climb through 150 km/h, although controlling all the racing tools simultaneously remains difficult 197.

At the Saffron City Regular Race, the Little Sheep initially attracts disbelief from spectators who assume it is a joke entry or an emergency replacement vehicle. Shen Qi uses adaptive tread, Racing Energy, Chansey's boosts, and Dodo's Magnet Rise to overcome parts of the performance deficit 201 202. It crosses the line third behind Wind Horse and Big Yuanbao; because the two leaders tie for first, a later account describes its nominal placing as second 202 216.

The van continues entering Regular Races, including Fuchsia City and Vermilion City. Magnet Rise becomes a recurring overtaking tactic, allowing it to skip sharp turns and compete with more powerful cars 233 241. The campaign also causes accumulating mechanical damage: Compatible Turbo cracks the intake pipe, the suspension deteriorates, and Huzang is alarmed when Shen Qi brings it in after five consecutive Regular Races supported mainly by basic tuning 241 242.

Winter Race and Engine Failure

In the Winter Race's Palmpona qualifying round, the Little Sheep records 8 minutes and 31 seconds, placing fourth without using Compatible Turbo or Dodo's Agility. Shen Qi then uses a stored Helping Hand through Alliance Attack to regain positions during the preliminary's opening acceleration 254.

Later rounds require stronger measures. Against Lizao's Goldthread Orchid, Shen Qi combines Wish Necklace and Compatible Turbo, launches from a ramp, and relies on Dodo to straighten the vehicle and soften its landing. The Little Sheep reaches 170 km/h while still accelerating and finishes the second preliminary in second place, narrowly ahead of Autumn Leaves 266 267.

At full strength, the van now performs at approximately midrange Class B level, but Shen Qi recognizes that repeated overloaded runs will ruin the engine 272. During the Winter Race it also cooperates with Meng Ai's Cultivation Pod in legal blocking maneuvers against Ayaka's Rainbow Flying Sword 274.

The engine finally suffers cylinder failure during the final. Shen Qi continues with reduced power, using Helping Hand and Magnet Rise to bring the smoking vehicle across the line ninth. A violation penalty changes the official result to tenth 281.

The organizers' artisans repair it sufficiently for ordinary travel. One cylinder is destroyed, another damaged, and output is roughly halved; full-performance running is no longer safe. The six- or seven-thousand-b bill appears to include discounted labor from mechanics who remember using Little Sheep vans before their own careers improved 282.

Before traveling to Hoenn, Shen Qi leaves it at the Fuchsia Gym with Janine rather than the Perilla Racing Team, whose members might study and photograph the increasingly famous van. He later retrieves it and brings it back toward the Sevii Islands with Raincoat and Flower Crown 285 288 322 325.

Variable Valve Lift and Seasonal Competition

After Huzang reports that the Little Sheep is ready, Shen Qi discovers a new surge of intake airflow during testing. Dodo examines the onboard computer and identifies the variable valve lift system, which engages a second camshaft at high revs. Shen Qi praises the modification after two mountain laps, pleased that it lets him delay turbo use and conserve Mental Power 336.

The repaired Little Sheep returns to seasonal competition. It qualifies at an average of 8 minutes and 21 seconds and advances third through the Spring Race's second preliminary with a comfortable margin over fourth 376 377. During a later round, Dodo checks the Heart Fossil stored in its Safe and discovers that it has begun beating faintly 379.

Shen Qi declines to replace it with a Shanhai Group Class B car. His game item is bound to the Little Sheep, and he wants to fulfill his shared goal with Huzang: defeating Ayaka and Celadon City University's racing achievements using Huzang's technology 396.

In the Summer Race, the improved valve-lift and turbo systems support far stronger acceleration than the previous Winter Race configuration. The Little Sheep advances second from the second round, while its unusual presence remains a major attraction 403 411 415 416.

A malfunction in one front brake threatens its final performance. Shen Qi uses Analysis Card, Love Savings Bank, and Manual ESP to regain control, then applies Jet Energy to right the vehicle when it tips onto two wheels. Chansey breaks the rear windshield so additional thrust can propel it toward the finish 422.

The Little Sheep and Rainbow Flying Sword cross almost together. Officials award the van fourth because its loosened front license plate projects ahead of the body and reaches the line first, securing Shen Qi a top-five Summer Race result 422.

Rotary Engine and T2 Expansion Race

After a long period parked in Lisia's underground garage, the Little Sheep's battery goes flat, as do those of Flower Crown and Raincoat 551.

Huzang subsequently equips it with a rotary engine intended for T2-level racing. Its much stronger high-speed performance compensates for a longstanding weakness on straights, but poor low-speed torque and initially unstable responses require extensive testing. Lilligant helps assess it in chase races while Shen Qi relearns its acceleration, braking, and steering feedback 554 555.

During the T2 Expansion Race, the Little Sheep exceeds 300 km/h. It cannot eliminate the straight-line advantage of Class A cars, but keeps them from pulling far away while opening a gap over some Class B entrants 560. In a hazardous tunnel, Shen Qi combines Global Eye, Adaptive Suspension, tread changes, and Magnet Rise to negotiate ceiling spikes, uneven ground, and water obstacles, exchanging the lead with the Trick Master's Moon Shard 561.

At a 300 km/h bend, the Adaptive Spoiler alone cannot hold the van down. Shen Qi supplements it with Jet Energy emitted from a separated finger joint hidden in the wing, creating artificial downforce 562.

The Little Sheep finishes the second round eighth out of fifteen, matching its starting position. Shen Qi recognizes that the remaining gap comes from both the car's unstable condition and his own Trainer abilities, particularly his inability to follow Infinity Energy Lines as effectively as experts 570.

Later Upgrades and Spring Race Championship

After the Expansion Race, Li Yizi's sponsorship supports further improvements to the rotary engine, making it much more stable. The braking system and tire grade are upgraded to match, while Shen Qi's newly complete type-energy perception improves his ability to control the package 696.

With consecutively deployed Helping Hands and precisely coordinated Pokémon support, the Little Sheep records qualifying laps of eight minutes and 7 minutes 55 seconds, averaging 7 minutes 57 seconds—just over two seconds behind Rainbow Flying Sword 696 697.

In the main race, Mime Jr. copies Chlorophyll from Rainbow Flying Sword, helping the Little Sheep pass Ayaka in Diglett Cave. Shen Qi then overtakes Shūji's Moon Shard on the straight using Nene Ninja Technique. With the Gravel Route's stones already scattered away by Toy Car, he maintains speed through the cleared section and demonstrates a Jet Energy-assisted drift above 200 km/h 698 699.

A later account confirms that Shen Qi wins the Spring Race championship while driving the Little Sheep and earns T3 certification 719.

Continued Transport Use

Despite its racing career, the Little Sheep continues serving as practical transport. Shen Qi takes it to Ruins Valley with Lilligant while searching for clues connected to Porygon, later carries Meowstic on a high-speed journey toward Fuchsia City and the Island 2 ferry, and uses it to drive friends home after returning to Island 6 119 640 665.

Other Little Sheep Vehicles

The Little Sheep model appears in several situations that do not involve Shen Qi's continuously upgraded personal van. During the Ruins Valley Security Bureau operation, Shen Qi switches into a bureau-prepared Little Sheep carrying three concealed Security Guards 328.

In the Mega Evolution World Line, he selects a factory-engine Little Sheep and has it rapidly modified with a Skill Slot, Poké Ball rack, and bucket seat while removing the other seats to reduce weight. An engineer, Blissey, and Dodo finish the work before the Yo Yo Yo Wow Area race. Shen Qi uses game items, Chlorophyll, Helping Hand, and Magnet Rise to advance from seventh to first, but recognizes that this ordinary engine cannot safely support the output of his extensively modified personal vehicle 471 472.

He also selects a Little Sheep for a university anniversary event, where ordinary vans are treated as entertaining utility-class entries rather than serious racing machines 506.
