Of course, with Ye Qing's frail mortal body, if he actually crashed into someone at high speed, he could certainly kill them, but he would probably be done for himself.
The thing was, he had shields too!
He could stack a few layers of Holy Radiance Protection on himself, then make a few adjustments to reduce the speed of his holy light traversal, ensuring he took no damage during the collision while dealing the greatest possible physical damage to his opponent!
This maneuver-
Ye Qing was willing to call it Train Collision!
Not long afterward, Ye Qing returned to Shrek Academy laden with spoils. Bei Bei, who had just turned eight, had only recently broken through to rank eighteen. When he saw Ye Qing's two Soul Rings, one yellow and one purple, along with his Soul Power that had reached rank twenty-five, he felt as though his entire sky had collapsed.
"I'll never catch up to that brat Ye Qing! (Sob.)" Bei Bei wept bitterly.
But aside from Bei Bei, all of Shrek's upper ranks plunged into an ocean of celebration.
"An ultimate attribute! It really is an ultimate attribute!"
At that moment, the Sea God Pavilion Elders were beside themselves with excitement. They immediately felt that their previous investments had not only paid off, but that they had invested too little.
Now that Ye Qing had clearly demonstrated an ultimate attribute, his becoming a Limit Douluo in the future was practically set in stone. Once he reached that pinnacle, his combat strength would even far exceed Mu En's at the same level.
Another white jade pillar to hold up the heavens!
Previously, they had only heard Mu En say that Ye Qing had a very good chance of developing an ultimate attribute. Without seeing it with their own eyes, however, they could never fully believe it, so naturally, they had held something back when investing in him.
Their willingness to bring out so many fine things had already shown their tremendous trust in Mu En.
But now, they could only feel that they had still invested too little. They had actually failed to offer anything far better than everyone else's contributions, something that would let Ye Qing accept more of their "goodwill."
The less goodwill they offered now, the less they would receive in return in the future!
Apart from Mu En, every member of the Sea God Pavilion secretly began pondering how to build a closer relationship with this little fellow before he grew into his full strength.
Elder Lin, in particular, with the Treasure Gathering Pavilion at her disposal, immediately began considering which treasures from the very bottom of her coffers she should bring out when Ye Qing visited.
Of course, more importantly, having Ye Qing meant that Shrek Academy would not have to worry about any crises for the next several hundred years.
A Limit Douluo with an ultimate attribute would be enough to solve every problem!
This was their confidence in their own ability to teach. They believed that as long as Ye Qing possessed that potential, his prospects would be boundless under their guidance.
The sensation caused by his ultimate attribute remained confined to Shrek's upper ranks. Ye Qing was not even eight yet, and they could hardly announce to the entire continent with great fanfare that Shrek had produced yet another genius of such-and-such caliber.
That was unrealistic.
Mu En, meanwhile, went to see Ye Qing together with Yan Shaozhe.
What was Ye Qing doing at that moment?
He stood before Mu En and Yan Shaozhe like a light bulb, glowing expressionlessly.
Glowing in the literal, physical sense.
Mu En and Yan Shaozhe both had light-attribute Martial Souls, and both wanted to experience the difference between ultimate light and their own light. Thus, Ye Qing displayed his light attribute in this fashion.
As he sensed that radiant, majestic aura with the innate gift of Light of the Holy Hall hidden within it, Mu En had little reaction. He merely felt that it truly lived up to the name of ultimate light, capable of illuminating every darkness like the sun.
Yan Shaozhe's expression, on the other hand, became a little unnatural.
The passive gift of Light of the Holy Hall made anyone who approached Ye Qing instinctively feel that he was an open and upright person, brimming with righteous integrity.
Yet this aura seemed to make Yan Shaozhe see himself through that light: a man without a trace of the composure and magnanimity a light Soul Master should possess, his eyes blinded by power and profit, a man who did not even dare look his own Martial Soul in the face.
After experiencing Ye Qing's ultimate light, Mu En also caught the dazed look in Yan Shaozhe's eyes out of the corner of his own.
He sighed softly, and a voice transmission sounded in Yan Shaozhe's ears.
"Shaozhe, did you feel it? Did you learn anything?"
You'd best take care of yourself!
Those were the words Mu En left unspoken.
Yet Yan Shaozhe still understood what Mu En wanted to say. His body stiffened for a moment before he gave an almost imperceptible nod.
Mu En could only hope that this disciple of his would come to understand, through Ye Qing, the true essence a light Soul Master ought to possess. That meant not only understanding his own Martial Soul, but also examining his own heart.
"Junior brother, thank you for teaching your senior brother a lesson." Yan Shaozhe smiled, gently patted his shoulder, then turned and left.
Ye Qing tilted his head.
He understood what Yan Shaozhe meant, but this clearly was not something an eight-year-old child could comprehend, so outwardly, he could only put on a look of incomprehension.
Besides...
Ye Qing also understood that his "purity and spotless virtue, radiant majesty" were merely passive effects of Light of the Holy Hall. Whether his personality actually resembled that of a light Soul Master was another matter entirely.
The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger's temperament was actually a closer match for his true nature.
But as long as he kept quiet, who could tell?
Hadn't even Mu En come to think, This boy is like me?
"You must be tired after going out Soul Hunting. I'll give you some time off. We'll begin a new training plan after you've rested for a while." Mu En smiled and nodded, clearly very satisfied with this disciple of his.
"Your next round of training will focus on improving your spiritual power, preparing you to absorb a Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring as your third Soul Ring. Once you become a Soul Elder, the Soul Power compression caused by your ultimate attribute will slow your cultivation. But don't worry. We at Shrek have ways to reduce that effect and help you get through the growth stage of your ultimate attribute faster."
"I understand, Teacher." Ye Qing nodded. He naturally knew full well how many benefits he could gain by absorbing a Ten Thousand Year Soul Ring as his third Soul Ring.
Even without Mu En telling him, Ye Qing would not drop the ball on something like this.
Cultivation was nothing like studying. If you were bad at studying, at worst, your life would be a little harder and you would earn a little less money in the future. But if you lacked strength in this world where strength reigned supreme, you might one day be killed by the shock waves from a battle between powerful figures without even knowing what had happened.
Even if he did not die, wasn't Ma Hongjun's failure to inherit the Fire God's Divine Seat because he had slacked off another living example?
Studying hard might not get you much in the way of results, but if you cultivated seriously, every bit of strength you gained would become a foundation for your confidence in this world.
As for the leave Mu En granted Ye Qing, he did not spend it slacking off at all.
After spending three days bringing his Soul Power, which had surged to rank twenty-five, under control, and becoming able to form Soul Power balls as deftly as before, Ye Qing went straight to Mu En.
"Teacher, we can start training now."
Before you continue
