Background / History

Orphaned childhood

Bei Bei’s parents died alongside Ye Qing’s parents during a Shrek Academy mission against the Evil Soul Master Demon Wolf. The attacking team was wiped out, leaving Bei Bei in Mu En’s care as the elder’s sole surviving blood descendant 3 5 6.

At five, Bei Bei was lonely and withdrawn. Mu En arranged for him to meet Ye Qing, the only suitable playmate of a similar age on Sea God Island. The boys soon began exploring the island, raiding elders’ gardens, fishing, gathering snails, and catching crabs. Their friendship made Bei Bei noticeably more cheerful 3 4.

Mu En later brought Zhang Lexuan to Shrek and introduced her as the boys’ big sister. Although he briefly considered making her Bei Bei’s child bride, he rejected imposing that obligation and instead asked her to look after both children 6 8.

Training and rivalry

Bei Bei learned about Soul Masters with Zhang Lexuan rather than attending an elementary Soul Master academy. He received physical training and cultivation resources through Shrek, then awakened his Martial Soul several months before Ye Qing 8 13 15.

Their first documented spar ended without Bei Bei piercing Ye Qing’s Holy Radiance Protection. After exhausting his soul power through repeated Thunder Dragon Claws, he went to Zhang Lexuan for comfort. Falling behind in cultivation subsequently turned his friendly competitiveness into an increasingly serious drive to surpass Ye Qing 19 33.

At level twenty-two, Bei Bei challenged Ye Qing again, confident that their matching thousand-year second rings put them on comparable footing. Ye Qing appeared behind him and knocked him unconscious with one elbow strike. Rather than abandon his goal, Bei Bei accepted Mu En’s encouragement and sacrificed almost all his playtime to cultivation 34 35.

After obtaining his third ring and reaching level thirty-five, Bei Bei challenged the level-thirty-three Ye Qing. He still lost ground in close combat, even with Thunderous Wrath and Dragon Transformation. Their subsequent clash between Thunder Terrorclaw and Dark Gold Nebula Rift damaged the surrounding grass before Mu En intervened. Mu En declared the match a draw and ordered them to use the Soul Fighting Arena for future bouts 43 44 45.

Outer Court enrollment and Tang Ya

Bei Bei entered Shrek’s Outer Court using an Inner Court recommendation letter and was assigned Room 234 alongside Ye Qing 47 49.

Around enrollment, he became infatuated with Tang Ya, a survivor of the Tang Sect’s destruction. He spent an entire day helping her and trying to offer financial assistance after her registration fees left her penniless. Tang Ya repeatedly invited him to join her sect, but he remained reluctant to commit before their relationship became official 46 49 50.

When Ye Qing rejected Tang Ya’s recruitment attempt, Bei Bei followed her as she left and inwardly resented Ye Qing for upsetting her. His attraction had not yet resulted in confirmed Tang Sect membership in the supplied chapters 50.

Appearance

Bei Bei is introduced with short, tousled blue-purple hair and a subdued expression. Later passages describe him as refined and handsome 3 49.

• Dragon claws: His arms transform into blue dragon claws surrounded by electricity when his Martial Soul is active 43.
• Thunderous Wrath transformation: A dragon horn emerges near his side-parted fringe; his dark eyes turn blue, with lightning flickering in the pupils 43.
• Thunder Terrorclaw activation: His right claw enlarges further, and its bluish-purple electrical currents become dark gold 44.

Personality

Bei Bei begins as a timid child whose reserve stems from loneliness after losing his parents. He quickly warms to Ye Qing and enjoys their mischievous outings, though he lacks the patience for prolonged fishing. He also shows consideration for his friend: he eats the edible portion of Ye Qing’s badly grilled fish rather than waste it and later leaves him undisturbed to study after his awakening 4 7 12.

His defining trait during cultivation is a refusal to accept defeat. Repeated losses to Ye Qing provoke anger, tears, and boasts, but also sustained effort. After his one-strike defeat, he follows through on his vow to improve, continuing at roughly one rank every three months until reaching rank thirty 19 34 35.

With Tang Ya, Bei Bei becomes shy, eager to help, and possessive enough to dislike the prospect of Ye Qing joining her sect before he has won her affection. Despite his infatuation, he understands that the declining Tang Sect offers little practical benefit and initially withholds his commitment 49 50.

Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon

Bei Bei’s Martial Soul combines a dragon-type physique with lightning attacks and an inherited Radiant Sacred Dragon bloodline 8 15.

• Dragon-type traits substantially improve his physical strength and capacity to withstand older soul rings 15.
• He uses the secret Dragon Transformation technique during close combat 44.
• His light bloodline has not yet awakened when Ye Qing compares their cultivation advantages; Bei Bei consequently benefits less from the Golden Tree’s light than Ye Qing does 20.

Thunder Dragon Claw

His first soul skill releases an enormous claw projection from his transformed hand 43.

• Used repeatedly against Ye Qing’s Holy Radiance Protection, it fails to penetrate the barrier before Bei Bei exhausts his soul power 19.
• Ye Qing later shatters an enhanced Thunder Dragon Claw with a close-combat technique derived from his Light-Breaking Soul Bone 43.

Thunderous Wrath

His third soul skill comes from a 5,500-year Thunder Tyrant Dragon ring and greatly enhances soul power, attributes, and physical strength 41.

• Produces visible changes, including a dragon horn and blue, lightning-filled eyes 43.
• Bei Bei activates it immediately in his Soul Elder rematch, recognizing Ye Qing’s combat strength after numerous previous defeats 43.

Thunder Terrorclaw

His right arm soul bone grants the Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear’s signature claw ability, altered by his lightning soul power into Thunder Terrorclaw 41 44.

• Releases five razor-sharp streaks of dark gold blade light 44.
• Adds lightning’s penetrating and explosive properties to the original claw attack 41.
• Clashes with Ye Qing’s Dark Gold Nebula Rift, a soul-ring skill obtained from the same bear. Mu En stops the exchange before either attack can strike its target 44.

• Dark Gold Terrorclaw Bear Right Arm Soul Bone — A twenty-thousand-year ordinary soul bone, not an external claw bone. Mu En gives it to Bei Bei because Ye Qing already possesses a right arm bone. Its physical enhancement raises Bei Bei’s projected third-ring tolerance from roughly four thousand to six thousand years 38 41.
• Inner Court recommendation letter — Used to enter Shrek’s Outer Court without a main-city recommendation. Its red Shrek emblem identifies an applicant connected to the Inner Court or academy leadership 47.
