Background / History

Li Shiyao had held Jiang Cheng University's number-one Campus Belle title since her first year. Despite her faded clothes, she stood out for her graceful figure, snow-white skin, and crescent-shaped brows; she was also already the CEO of Qingcheng Group. 2

When she sees Jiang Cheng again at the university cafeteria, she becomes visibly emotional. She feigns a sprained ankle to approach him, but her ruse is exposed when she holds the wrong foot; after Jiang Cheng flees, she resolves not to give up on him. 2 3

Her determination is tied to knowledge of her past life: Ye Bufan killed Jiang Cheng and brought ruin to the Jiang family. Li Shiyao concludes that marrying Jiang Cheng and keeping him from Mu Qingcheng can prevent their conflict with Ye Bufan and avert that future. 9
