It was indeed a listening device. After checking, Heath found the little thing, which was very close to the color of the pipe. If Zorua hadn't pointed out its location, Heath might really have missed it. Only after finding it did he pry it off.

After Heath reported it to the Officer Jenny on duty, she came storming over. Once she had the listening device, she left with a dark expression, while Old Officer Jenny came in.
"What happened?" Old Officer Jenny looked curiously at her junior storming away and asked about it. Meanwhile, Heath was cutting ingredients in the kitchen, preparing the food he would serve the Officer Jennys that evening.
