By the time Heath drove the food truck back to the Officer Jennys' dormitory, the Jennys had already finished eating. Old Officer Jenny was leaning against a pillar in the underground parking lot, holding a birdcage. Heath had no idea what she was doing there. He gave her a curious glance. She kept birds, too?
"You little brat, where did you go gallivanting today?" Old Officer Jenny turned to ask Heath when she spotted his food truck. Then her nose twitched, and her expression grew even stranger.
"I went to buy a few things, then met someone interesting, so I got held up a little." Smiling, Heath helped Officer Jenny Xingruo out of the truck. When Old Officer Jenny saw Xingruo's face, her expression froze for a moment, and her gaze turned a little odd.
"So you ran into Xingruo, huh? No wonder it rained just now. I was thinking rain that heavy was rare even in the Indigo League... This one said the weather was nice, didn't she?" Old Officer Jenny calmly covered her birdcage with a cloth, then asked with complete certainty. Heath nodded.
It seemed Mr. Giovanni really had been right. This Officer Jenny Xingruo was quite the oddball, to a degree that even Old Officer Jenny acknowledged. It made Heath a little curious about just how badly Xingruo could jinx things. Was she about on par with Pelé, the king of football from his previous life?
But Old Officer Jenny clearly had no intention of chatting. Taking the dead-drunk Officer Jenny Xingruo with her, she left the parking lot, and it fell quiet again. Heath scratched his head, then returned to his food truck. Since he had nothing to do now anyway, he planned to check out the PlayStation 5 he had bought.
